The Fall of the Apple

While Apple’s “Meet the Author” series normally interviews distinguished authors, they somehow made an exception and let this squealy little cartoonist into the room.

Click HERE to see how far Apple has fallen.

And by the way, does this look like an author photo or like I’ve just been arrested?

The Failure is Almost Upon Us Tour

timmy and total (RGB) copy(1)

I know, I know.

Over the last couple years, I’ve gone on two Pearls book tours, but have not managed to come to ____________ (fill in name of your hometown).

Well, that’s now changing.

Because beginning on February 26, I am coming to your hometown.

Provided it’s one of these:

Austin, Texas

Houston, Texas

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Madison, Connecticut

Brooklyn, New York

Salt Lake City, Utah

Tucson, Arizona

It’s all in honor of my new book, Timmy Failure:  Mistakes Were Made, which will be released on February 26.

And if your hometown is not on that list, hang tight.  For there are more cities to come in April!

But for now, here are the details on the upcoming dates:

Tuesday, 2/26/13 – BookPeople, Austin TX, 7 p.m.

603 North Lamar, Austin, Texas 78703

Wednesday, 2/27/13 –  7 p.m.

West Houston Community Center, (in conjunction with Blue Willow Book Shop)

725 Bateswood, Houston, TX 77079

Thursday, 2/28/13 – Barnes and Noble, Fairless Hills, PA, 7 p.m.

210 Commerce Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030

Saturday, 3/2/13 – RJ Julia Booksellers, Madison Center, CT, 4 p.m.

768 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT 06443

Sunday, 3/3/13 – WORD Bookstore, Brooklyn, NY, 4 p.m.

126 Franklin Street, Brooklyn, NY  11222

Thursday, 3/7/13 – Kings English Book Shoppe, Salt Lake City, UT, 6 p.m.

1511 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City, UT

Sunday 3/10/13 – Tucson Book Festival, Tucson, AZ, 1:00 pm (for Timmy presentation):  4:00 pm (for Pearls presentation)

University of Arizona

At each stop, I’ll be wearing nice clothes and giving a brief presentation on the history of both Pearls and Timmy Failure.  I’ll explain the odd story of how I went from being a wayward lawyer to a wayward cartoonist to a wayward kids’ author.   Afterwards, I’ll be answering questions and signing books.

And yes, I will be signing Pearls book as well!

So don’t miss the chance to see charming me.   I am both engaging and humble.

See you there!

Perhaps Bordering on the Inappropriate

Well, I’ve always wanted to do a cover with someone getting kicked in the oompa loompas, and now my dream has come true.

The latest collection.

In stores Feb. 12.

One Final Signed Batch of Books Before Christmas

For the Christmas shoppers among you, I just signed one final batch of Pearls Freaks Out books at my local Barnes and Noble.  I also drew a character in each book.

To order one, just call (707) 576-7494.

But call soon, because they tend to sell quickly.

Boise Will Be Boise

I am finally making my way to Boise, Idaho, next Saturday, December 1, to help raise money for the Wyakin Warriors, a group that helps wounded veterans attend college.

For info on the event, click .

To buy tickets and thereby meet me (the experience of a lifetime, some might say), click HERE.

Just think.  You’ll be helping a charity AND seeing my pretty face.  At least one of those things has to be good.

Freaking Out in New Places

For the first time ever, the current treasury (Pearls Freaks Out) is being offered on iTunes, Kindle, and the Nook. All three contain my usual commentary, but the iTunes version has it in audio. And there’s nothing quite like hearing my sweet, sweet voice.

My Old Kentucky Home

I am returning to my Old Kentucky Home for two book signings.  (Actually, I never lived there. I just couldn’t think of another song with Kentucky in the title).

 Thursday, 11/8, Louisville, KY

7:00pm, Barnes & Noble, 4100 Summit Plaza Drive, Louisville, KY 40241

Saturday, 11/10, Frankfort, KY

10:30 am, Kentucky Book Fair, Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero St., Frankfort, KY

So come out and see me and make me feel at home anyways.

And please, this being Kentucky, bring Bourbon.

Book Signing Tonight (And Some Unsolicited Advice)

Hey, if any of you live in the East Bay, I’m speaking and signing books tonight at Books, Inc. in Alameda (1344 Park Street).

I’ll be the one with the backwards cap and cheesy goatee. Beer optional.  Pants mandatory.

On a totally unrelated note, I often write Pearls while sitting on abandoned railroad tracks and listening to loud music on my iPhone.

Today, I saw this coming down the tracks.

So, lesson for today:  If you’re going to write comic strips on abandoned railroad tracks, make sure they’re really abandoned.
