Richardson grew up in the Chicago suburbs, graduated from the University of Iowa, and has lived in California for decades. He now resides in the Bay Area with his wife, two children, and a dog.

I listened to the BBC audiobook, which I highly recommend. It was like an old time radio program with actors playing all the different characters. So good! Of course, I love Chandler/Marlowe. The hardboiled prose, shady characters, confusing story.
