MITCH BENSEL - PART II, HOW GOD SHOWED ME I WAS A HEALER

MITCH BENSEL - PART II       [image error]
HOW GOD SHOWED ME I WAS A HEALER
as told to Irene Baron

On 19 November 2021, this true story was told to Irene Baron by Mitch Bensel, a conduit of God's healing light. The healing light of God has created numerous healing miracles internationally for over 20 years. The image below shows Mitch during a healing presentation in October 2021 at Coburn United Methodist Church in Zanesville, Ohio.

[image error]"I was on an Oregon beach with a friend who doesn’t share her rocks or any treasures she finds. They are hers.

As I was walking, I decided to ask God if I was really a healer because of the many miracles where people were healed in my life.  I thought it was prayer that did it. I had been looking for rocks. The beach had many small ones scattered in the sand. So, while I was walking on the beach, I said, “Okay, God, if I’m a healer for you, I want to find a really big agate!.”

Immediately, my friend reached toward me with a big rock. She lowered her head as though she was bowing, looking down to her feet. She extended her arm straight out to me with the rock in her hand and said, “This is yours.”

It was a big geode with massive white quartz crystals throughout the center area. Not an agate, but still the largest cool rock on the beach!

She said, again, “This is yours.”

I took the rock from her and was skeptical. Coincidence possibly? So I asked again,  “Okay, God,  if I’m a healer, I want to find a blue rock with an “X”  on it. Knowing it wouldn’t happen, there were no blue rocks on [image error]this beach.
God answered me. A foot in front of me was a small blue rock, I picked it up and there was a grey X on it. I was shocked. Those were two signs from God.

The next day I was walking alone on the beach about 300 feet from the ocean. I turned around to walk back and there was a seal that wasn’t there a minute before.  It had brilliant blue eyes with a grey-black “X” between its eyes. I could feel vibrant energy coming off this seal. It was a joyous euphoric energy coming toward me.  I thought God was wanting me to heal it or something. I didn’t know what to do and the energy was overwhelmingly wonderful.

I prayed over the seal and said, “I hope you feel better, but I’m not touching you.” I walked away talking to God all the time.  I took about eight steps and turned around to go back to the seal, but it was gone. There were no tracks of it going to the ocean. There was no way it could have gone all that distance back to  the ocean without me seeing it.  It just vanished, leaving me with a feeling of euphoria and great energy.  I don’t think seals have blue eyes. I realized God was telling me I was a healer.

First was the big rock I asked for, the blue rock with an “X,” and then the [image error]seal with overwhelming beautiful energy coming from it, with an X between its eyes. The blue eyes had looked right at me. With the energy around it and all it encompassed, the air was alive. I knew as I walked that God showed me three signs to answer my question of me being a healer. “I gotta’ do this. God wants me to do this.”

That is the story of the rocks and when I questioned God as to whether I was  a healer for Him or not."

MILK-FOR-MEMORY

MILK FOR MEMORY
IMPORTANCE OF GLIA

by Irene Baron   www. irenebaron.com

Guess what guys? Glia are more important than your brain neurons.

If you stopped drinking milk and consuming dairy products as a young adult, the VERY important glia in your brain most likely began to not function well and became worse over the years. When you begin to notice memory disfunction, it may already be too late to remedy the situation.

What are glia you ask? They were once thought to be simple support cells to neurons. Now, scientists find the glia in your brain are more important than the neurons. There are definitely more glia than neurons.

The glia are connective cells in your brain which rely on calcium to function correctly. So, why not grab a glass of milk to drink while you read the rest of this blog entry?

Without glial cells, the neurons in the brain have poor connections and nutrition. The glia cells allow for more complete connections between neurons to allow for the passage of nutrients and energy. What you are or all that you have become originated in your brain which controls memory, thoughts, senses, voluntary and involuntary functions, motion, etc. If those brain connections decrease because of weakening glia due to lack of calcium, you may have memory loss and the onset of Alzheimers disease,, depression, sleeplessness, etc. You will no longer be "you."

So how do you keep glia healthy? CALCIUM!

[image error]I have had persons ask me why my memory is so phenomenal. Until I found out the connection between the active glial cells, their relationship to the communications within the brain, and calcium being one of their main needs to function correctly, I didn't know. Now I do know. I normally drink about 2-gallons of milk a week. Love the stuff. I also consume lots of cheese. In the exciting adventure novel I wrote, MINDREACHER, I based the telepathy ability of my main character on an over abundance of her glial cells. Of course that character craves milk as part of her personality to support the glia. She doesn't know why, just that she feels the urge to drink a lot of milk. I guess in that way her character is based partly on my milk-drinking habits. I wonder if the calcium needing glia create an urge to consume milk?

I read a study several years ago concerning the diets of grade school students when they were given free choice in their lunch diet. Student diets were meticulously followed and recorded for one year. The study found that although the food consumed may not have been daily or weekly sound diets, over time, the students ate what was needed for correct nourishment of their body during the year. They evidently craved what they needed and their diets changed accordingly. So maybe this craving for milk is natural.

My hypothesis is, without the calcium to support the glial cells, the function of those cells will become impaired. Without correctly functioning glial cells, there will be a mental slow down and perhaps forgetfulness.

So, dear reader, when did you last drink a glass of milk? Eat cheese or yogurt? If you want your brain to function correctly, you have to feed it. In the past you may not have thought milk important or you may have had an intolerance to the substance. There are many substitutes available for you to consume when obtaining your calcium. Don't wait around and let your brain deteriorate. Glia are necessary to keep your brain functions healthy. Calcium is required to keep the glia healthy.

I encourage you to do your own research on the topic. Two journals to which I subscribe and recommend for gathering information are Scientific American MIND and the outstanding Science News. I've been reading Science News for over 30-years to keep up with what is going on in science around the world. That news journal gathers the best global science news and prints it for subscribers.

I've been checking out many studies concerning the different types of glial cells and their functions. In the past year much has been learned about them. If you were part of the milk industry, you would definitely want to check glia out. That industry needs to let the consuming public know about the importance of glial cells and the multitude of functions they perform for the body. Most important, in my opinion, is the glial reliance on calcium.  It may be due to the lack of calcium that so many persons are experiencing loss of memory.

Got milk? If not, better get to the grocery. :-)

MITCH BENSEL - PART I

MITCH BENSEL - PART I
Author, Poet, & Healer

Mitch Bensel was considered to be a holy baby when born.

A personality developing on the national scene is Louisville, KY resident, Mitch Bensel. In the near future, the United States will be impacted by his gentle thoughts, manners, deeds of compassion, and healing of others through his being a conduit of God’s healing light.

When Mitch Bensel was born, the birthing room was suddenly filled with the aroma of roses.  Christians believe that to perceive the scent of roses when no flowers are present at a birth of a child, called Clairalience clear smelling, is the sign of a holy child and the presence of holiness. It is also called the “odor of sanctity” and a sign that a blessing from God is imminent.

What is unusual is that healer Mitch Bensel was unaware of his birth phenomenon until the age of 65 in November 2021. He had mentioned to his sister that he would refresh his healing mission in Zanesville, Ohio during his second visit there for a healing presentation at Coburn UM Church on 28 December, 2021.

She replied, “It’s about time!”

When he questioned what she meant, she told him about his birth event, the smell of roses which permeated the room, and that he was considered to be a holy child at birth. He had never been told about his birth.

He actually began his healing prayers as a preschool child for those who were ill, especially for those in ambulances that would pass by him with sirens blazing as they rushed ill people to the hospital.

He had previously traveled to Zanesville at the request of the adult VEP Sunday School class of  Coburn UM Church to present a healing service as a conduit of God’s healing light. Two members of the class had earlier been miraculously healed by the Mitch Bensel YouTube healing audio, “Three Healings.” At least four others in that city experienced and testified of God’s miraculous healings from that audio presentation.

Since Bensel can heal others, but not himself, Pastor Anthony Thomas of Coburn Church called the audience forward after Bensel’s presentation for a hands-on healing of the healer. Mitch said that as the healing began, he closed his eyes and felt the presence of The Holy Spirit personify the Pastor. It radiated through him and from him in a vibrant yet calming energy. He knew then that Pastor Thomas was truly a man of God. God’s healing energy was felt by all those connected by the touching. Some had their body physically moved as the energy passed through them.

That the future will know of Mitch Bensel was suggested by Irene Baron. When Mitch had a medical issue and all assumed it to be cancer, during her prayers for his after surgery recovery, she heard a male voice answer her prayer. The voice, in a calm, clear,  loud, and sincere manner, said, “HE IS NEEDED IN THE FUTURE.” She knew then that he would survive.

The question is, what is going to happen that God’s healing though conduit Mitch Bensel is going to be needed?

Apostle Paul wrote in Corinthians 2:14 in the Bible that God "uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere." The “odor of holiness” comes from the Holy Spirit's presence in situations where people experience it.

THE BENSEL CROSS

THE BENSEL CROSS
 By Irene Baron August 2021

[image error] Author and Lightworker/Healer, Mitch Bensel, made a wooden cross for me from driftwood found washed upon the banks of the Ohio River along Louisville, Kentucky below the Ohio falls. His crosses are like no others, not only because of the unique exterior, but also for what they contain inside.

My cross is twelve inches high. Some buyers order much larger ones. The wonder of all the Bensel Crosses is that many prayers are said over each cross as they are being constructed.

Prayers and blessings in the cross are for healing, protection, and well being for my family and home.

What is significant to me is that Mr. Bensel asked Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Immanuel, the Christ, to add their blessings to each cross he constructs.  For the owners of the crosses, the love and sacrifice of Jesus seems to emanate from them. The cross represents a time in our history of Christ’s pure love for all of us. For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son. So, when you touch or hold a Bensel Cross, it is His love you feel and what the cross represents. It is just wood …  but the symbol is love. Your faith feels His energy and love.

When I opened my cross upon its arrival, there was a feeling of joy and goodness. I looked it over and let my hands move over the wooden surface. I saw the “MB” carved into the back to remind the world it was a Bensel Cross. He placed a small medal of the Virgin Mary on the back of the cross. I believe that was an association with my book, “Mary Knew – A Biography of Mary from Ancient Scriptures.” It is a historical narrative book I wrote using Apostle James’ eye witness testimony about Mary’s life. Apostle James was the youngest son of Joseph from his first and deceased wife. James lived in his father’s home for some time.

[image error]I replaced a picture of Balaam on the wall beside my front door with my Bensel Cross. After putting the cross on the wall, I walked to the kitchen for a drink of water.  Walking from the kitchen, through a corner of the dining room and heading for the adjoining living room, I had to stop. My body impacted a force which was not impenetrable, but let me know it was there.  It felt like the air in the living room had pressure behind it.

The cross was exhibiting the energy and power stored within it. I believe the prayers Mitch Bensel said, while constructing the cross, were filled with Christian love,  care, and were powerful.  Add to that the requested blessings from God and Jesus, Immanuel, and that cross became a miracle of spiritual love.

I stopped walking upon feeling the pressure and hesitated.  My first thought was astonishment. I thought, “What?” Then I knew it was the cross. The cross was the only thing that was different in that room. After pausing and taking in that revelation of the power of that small wooden Cross, I stepped into the living room. The power of that cross enveloped me as I walked toward it. It flowed around me. The amount of pressure surrounding me did not change as I walked to where the cross rested upon my wall.

When I reached the wall, I looked up at the cross and put my head against the wall to see the back of it again. Had anything changed? No. I reached up and put my hand on the front of the cross. I felt energy move into my hand.  THAT CROSS HAD ENERGY that my Holy Spirit recognized.

Removing it from the wall, I moved my hands over the cross. I placed my right hand on the front of the cross and my left hand on the back. I held it between my hands and felt the wonder of its existence in my home. I traced my hand across it as though smoothing the wood or spirit of the cross and gently returned it to its new home on my wall.

After that one instance, I had not felt the air pressure power of the cross. Yet when I touch it, the power of the imbedded prayers and blessings are felt with a slight source of pressure/energy against my hand. I assume energy enters my hand.

Mitch Bensel’s construction of my cross creates wonder and astonishment every day. Wonder, because of what the cross contains inside. Also astonishment that the cross was made for me without my asking for one. It was a gift from his heart from someone who loves God to another Christian.

I thanked him for the cross. With the power of his healing prayers and the blessings from him and two holy beings, that Cross became, perhaps, one of the most important objects in my home.

[image error]I would like to thank Mitch Bensel for bestowing upon me one of the most significant gifts I have ever received.

Mr. Bensel receives nudges from God to create such miracles. We all experience nudges in our life and know they are often from the Holy Spirit.  I’m glad he was nudged to create a cross for me.

A wood burner or flame was used on every wood surface of my cross to make it stand out. When Mr. Bensel finds wood for a cross, he said he doesn’t think about whether it would make a good cross. He said, it’s as though the wood lets him know it is going to be made into a holy cross. That is the final purpose of that piece of wood. It was brought to that section of the Earth for Mitch Bensel to see and ponder. When he is nudged to use any piece of wood for a cross, he said it’s not his thinking that it would become a beloved cross. “It’s the big guy up there.”

To order one of these unique crosses, Mr. Mitch Bensel can be reached by email at  mitchbenselhealer@gmail.com

HOW TO RELAX & SLEEP

HOW TO RELAX & SLEEP
by Irene Baron

Single hemispheric sleep, instinctively learned during high stress situations, such as combat to save your life, causes sleep deprivation. The goal of this relaxation procedure is to create a safe condition that allows both hemispheres of the brain to sleep. That should alleviate side effects of single hemispheric sleep.

This YouTube audio will teach you how to relax and sleep.
The directions are easy to follow.  Listen to narrator Mitch Bensel
 and enjoy your sleep.

This text is to be read aloud to a person trying to relax and sleep and to get rid of their sleep deprivation.

What you read here is the text of the YouTube audio narrated by Mitch Bensel. Mr. Bensel has a calming voice which should sooth your mind and body. The YouTube link to the audio will be posted here very soon.

Before you begin this relaxation method, lay down in bed and be ready to go to sleep. This relaxation method is a way to relax your body so that you may rest in a deep sleep with, hopefully, both brain hemispheres at rest. If you are not asleep at the end of the narrative, repeat the audio session.

Once this process is learned, in the future you may just think the word “relax,” and your body will do so.

THE RELAXATION PROCEDURE

Take a few moments to become comfortable. Your arms are loose at your sides with hands relaxed. Legs may be slightly open. Let your bare feet gently fall to the side.

Once you are comfortable, close your eyes. Expect to sleep 7-8 hours and awaken refreshed.

VAGUS NERVE ACTIVATION

First, we are going to activate a large torso nerve. The vagus nerve connects many parts of your body from the brain to the colon. Its healing powers are easily activated and can improve your sleep and mood. By activating it, chronic pain can often be relieved.

You will take in 10 slow deep breaths through your nose. You will hold each breath for one second, and then let it out slowly through pursed lips so you make a soft noise as you expel the air.

Since everyone takes different sizes of breaths at different speeds, please pause the recording at this point. Take your ten breaths and restart the recording for the muscle relaxation section.

____________________________________________________________________

YOU ARE NOW READY TO BEGIN MUSCLE RELAXATION OF YOUR BODY

Picture yourself as floating on a cloud. Let go of all sensations of the bed under you. Try to become so relaxed that you don’t feel what you’re lying on. Let yourself feel as light as air.

Without moving your body, put your concentration on your right toes. Think to yourself that you wish to relax those toes and the muscles which surround them. Let your foot fall with gravity. Don’t hold it up. Think of the muscles on the top of your foot over your arch. Let those muscles relax…. Breathe deep breaths.

You have many complex bones and muscles in the foot and ankle area. Try to relax the muscles supporting and surrounding your right foot and ankle. Relax the muscles around the ankle….

The calf muscles are easy to relax. Between the ankle and knee of your right leg, think to yourself that you are going to relax any muscle in a state of tension…. Let all calf muscles relax until your lower right leg is at rest…. Let gravity hold it down…. Apply no pressure.

Around your knee there is much connective tissue supporting the knee. Think to yourself to rest connective tissue surrounding the knee…. Don’t hold the knee up. Let it relax toward the bed…. Feel it relax.

Now, put your attention on your right thigh muscles. Relax any muscle tissue you feel above the knee at the front and back of your right thigh…. Your leg is in a state of rest. Let it relax…. There should be no muscle pressure or tenseness near your hip…. All your right leg muscles should now be relaxed.

Without moving your body, now put your concentration on your left toes. Think to yourself you wish to relax those toes and the muscles which surround them…. Don’t hold your foot up…. Let it fall with gravity. Move your mind to the muscles on the top of your foot above the arch. Think to yourself, you want to relax the muscles at the top of the left foot….

You have many muscles in the foot and ankle area. Now relax the muscles supporting and surrounding your left foot and ankle….

Think to yourself to relax the muscles between your ankle and knee…. Remove any pressure holding them in place…. Let all the calf muscles relax until your lower left leg is at rest. Let your leg rest with only gravity holding it….

Ligaments and tendons support the knee. Your muscles below and around your knee should relax. Think to yourself that you are letting your left knee relax toward the bed…. Don’t hold it in any way…. Release it…. Let it drop with gravity…. Feel it relax downward….

Now, put your attention on your left thigh muscles. Relax the muscles above your knee at the front and back of your thigh…. You’re not using your leg. Let it relax…. There should be no muscle pressure or tenseness at any place in either leg. All leg muscles and connective tissue should now be relaxed.

At the lower end of your spine, you have muscles that support your buttocks, or rear end. Several large muscles cross the buttocks and work with your body when it is in motion. Right now your buttocks muscles are resting with your body weight against them. Think to yourself that you want to relax the muscles in the buttocks area…. Think the word, relax…. Release any tension around that part of your body…. Let your buttocks fall with gravity…. Relax….

We’re going to address some large muscles beginning at the lower part of the spine on both sides of your vertebrae. Think to yourself that you are going to remove all tension to that area of your body…. Let go of i…t. Don’t hold onto your lower back muscles…. Let them relax…. Visualize the spine and muscles supporting them. Think to yourself, relax….

Keep your legs relaxed….  If you have had any tension return to the legs, think of letting go…. Relax the legs again if needed…. Let them rest against the floor….

We’re going to move up the back side of your body along the spinal column. All the muscles connecting to the vertebrae on both sides of the spine, from the buttocks to the neck, will be relaxed. One by one you will visualize moving up your spine. Let your mind think of relaxing those muscles as you remove any tenseness around the spine.

Let’s begin.

Right above the buttocks, on either side of the spine’s vertebrae, your muscles are usually tense. To support your back, your muscles stay tense all day as you move around.

Right now, make an effort to relax those muscles at the very lower part of your back on both sides of your vertebrae….

Now, let’s move up the spine….

Concentrate your thoughts as your attention moves up your back. Relax the muscles closest to and on both sides of your vertebrae as you move up. Move up slowly. Imagine each vertebra and the muscles connected to it. One after the other. As I slowly speak, move  relaxation up your spine. Muscles on each side of each vertebra will relax as you go. Relax the muscles upward, again ….and again…., moving toward the neck…. Muscles on each side of the spine need your attention to relax…. Upward … again…., relax those muscles. Think to yourself, relax.   Relax….   Relax…       Relax.

Return your thoughts to the center of your lower back.  You have a large outer triangular shaped muscle which begins at the tail bone at the lower end of your back and extends to the height of your armpits on both sides.  It becomes wider as it moves up and extends across the back. This muscle mass extending across all of your lower back has to relax. Think to yourself, you are relaxing muscles all through your lower back as your thoughts move up your back…. Slowly, relax….

Another large triangular muscle begins half way up your spine and extends up to your upper neck and across the tops of your shoulders. It covers your shoulder blades. This muscle mass also has to be relaxed.  Think of relaxing the upper back…. Think, relax my back…. Relax the lower back…. Relax the upper back…. As you relax these main large muscles, you will be also relaxing many smaller muscles…. Remove all tension from your back…. Let your back rest on the cloud….

Most of the muscles of your back along the spinal column should be in a relaxation mode. Don’t hold your back in any way. Release any tension within your back…. Release any tension in your shoulders…. Let your back and shoulders rest against the bed with only with gravity holding them…. Don’t hold or work any back muscles. Relax….  No muscle in your body should be tense. As you reach your shoulders, let those large back shoulder muscles release any tenseness. Let them relax….

There are muscles over the shoulder blades from the back of your neck to the shoulders that need to be relaxed. Keep your neck still…. It is not moving…. There should be no tension of muscle in the back of the neck…. Let the back of your neck relax…. Let it float in that cloud….

Let all musculature of the shoulder areas relax around the body, front and back…. The muscles of your chest and abdomen will also relax…. You’re not using them right now…. They are not tight.

Visualize the large muscles in the upper chest on both sides of the breast bone, your sternum, as it extends down from the neck. Let those muscles and on either side of the sternum relax from the center of the chest toward the top of your biceps at your arms…. The shoulders may feel as though they are being pulled toward the bed by gravity as you are no longer supporting them…. Relax muscles over the chest and shoulders…. Relax the upper back again…. Do not move any muscles…. Do not hold any muscles tense….

Think of relaxing abdominal muscles across the front of your torso…. You have large vertical muscles from the center of the groin upward. Let there be no tension from the center groin to your chest…. You have many muscles to relax, but you can do it. Think….  Relax muscles on the front of my body…. Relax them…. Relax…. Let there be no tension….

Turn your thoughts to the front of the neck. Your head it resting against the bed with no effort. Relax the front neck muscles…, the back neck muscles…, and the side neck muscles….

Become aware of your face muscles. Feel your forehead…. Let it relax and fall at the sides toward the floor…. You have circular muscles around the lips. Relax them….. Let your mouth fall open. Let there be no tension around your mouth….  Think of the muscles surrounding the eyes relaxing…. Below the eyes, your cheeks…, lower jaw and chin have muscles to relax…. No facial muscle should be tense…. Relax your forehead again…. Face muscles are so used to being tense, they quickly go back to a tense state. All the muscles on your face are to be let go again…. Relax them all….

[image error]Your brain is divided into two parts, the right and left. You need to make a concentrated effort to relax both sides of your brain….

You may have not slept with both sides of your brain for years and experienced sleep deprivation with dangerous side effects. If so, that has to stop.

You are now in a safe environment…. You may rest both sides of your mind and brain and you will be safe….  I would like you to think about relaxing both sides of your brain, your whole brain, to help your body become more normal…. Concentrate on letting both sides of your brain relax to allow transport of toxins out of your brain…. Toxins which develop in your brain all day have to be removed, so allow the brain to rest…. To sleep…. You are safe. You no longer need to be alert. You can relax your brain and mind. Think only of relaxation…. Relax your total body, mind and soul for sleep.

You have relaxed most of the body.

Take your attention to your hands. Beginning with your fingers, let muscles in both hands relax…. Relax the littlest fingers…, the ring fingers…, the central fingers and index fingers. Allow your thumbs to relax…. Allow the muscles in the palms to relax…. Next, concentrate on muscles, tendons and cartilage on the back of the hand. Each finger has tendons connecting upward to muscles in the arm.  Let the fingers and muscles relax…. Don’t move your hands. Keep them relaxed. Let gravity hold them.

Think upon your wrists. All muscle and tissue within the wrist needs to be relaxed…. Muscles around the wrist must be relaxed…. Let the wrist go…. Leave it to gravity…. Don’t hold any pressure on your hands or wrists….

Both your hands and wrists may feel like they are floating. Think of them being relaxed and pain free…. Keep the rest of your body relaxed…. Breathe deeply….

We’ll next relax the forearms between your wrists and elbows…. The muscles around the lower arm have to be relaxed…. Between the elbow, wrist and fingertips, all tissue should be in a relaxed position…. Do not move your body….  Gently relax muscles throughout your body…. Let all tension flow from the muscles…. Relax the muscles.

Between your elbows and shoulders, relax your bicep muscles…. They should be so relaxed that you will have little or no feeling…. Think of the arms as relaxing and hanging loosely…. Don’t move your arms…. They are at rest…. Visualize your arms floating…. They have no weight….

Your whole body should be at rest…. Relax….

Think about your physical brain…. Consider this matter within the skull which makes up the essence of what is you. The right side of your brain is already relaxed. Your mind uses the physical brain to think upon your existence and your world which is here and now…, in this place …and at peace…. There is no reason why any part of your brain needs to stay awake. The left part of your brain which may have been awake, perhaps for years, needs to rest.

You are in a safe place…. There is no need for any part of mind or your brain to be alert…. You are safe…. Think to yourself that you want all of your body relaxed, including your spirit and your conscious mind and brain….

Think to yourself, “My mind must rest….  My mind needs sleep to repair itself…. My mind needs sleep to heal my body…. I need my whole brain to relax and sleep.  Thoughts of my mind are at peace….  I want to remove any tension from my mind and body…. I want to think only of relaxing my mind….  Let ALL of me be at rest…. Mind, brain, body and soul…

At this point, there should be no tension in any muscle…. Whether you sleep or not, your body should be relaxed and your mind at peace. If you started within a safe environment, both sides of your brain and your thinking should be about the peace in which you are placed…. You should be relaxed.

If you fall asleep during this process, hopefully, you should have both hemispheres of your brain/mind at rest. With your body also at rest, you should sleep naturally in a deep sleep.

You have reached the end of this session.

SINGLE HEMISPHERIC SLEEP - HOW TO RELAX

SINGLE HEMISPHERIC SLEEP - HOW TO RELAX
by Irene Baron

[image error]This is to be read aloud to a person trying to relax and get rid of sleep deprivation. The audio link will be posted here very soon.

INTRODUCTION

PERSONS USING THIS RELAXATION METHOD CLAIM THEY ARE ABLE TO SLEEP MORE DEEPLY THAN NORMAL AND ARE MORE REFRESHED UPON AWAKENING. IT IS HOPED BOTH BRAIN HEMISPHERES SLEEP TO ALLEVIATE SLEEP DEPRIVATION.

This relaxation method is a way to relax your body so that you may rest in a deep sleep with, hopefully, both brain hemispheres at rest. If you are not asleep at the end of the narrative, repeat the audio session. Most persons are asleep before the end of the second session. When you have learned these procedures about how to relax, use them any time you wish to sleep. Each time, tell yourself that you want both sides of your mind and brain to rest and sleep.

You want the brain to heal itself. It must remove toxins which build up during the day. Each time you go through this guided relaxation procedure, you should be able to do so more quickly by yourself. After the first time, you may no longer need the verbal instructions as you will know what to do and how to do it. Improvise if necessary. The main goal is to get you out of the “sleep alert” mode to total rest when you are in a safe place. Go through this process especially when you are having difficulty getting to sleep. Eventually, you will be so accustomed to this relaxation process, you can just say to yourself, “relax,” and your body will do so.

Bless you for trying to help yourself. If you have any questions, send an email to irenebaron@irenebaron.com. Put SLEEP as the subject matter to ensure Irene Baron will see it.

Another way to help you heal and try to stop single hemispheric sleep, it is highly recommended that you listen to the YouTube audio “Three Healings by Mitch Bensel.” Bensel is spelled, B –E- N- S- E- L. This healer uses prayers to God to try to bring others peace or calm or healing or all three. Mr. Bensel’s prayers healed author Irene Baron of all body pain. She is now pain free. His healing prayers to God may help stop single hemispheric sleep causing sleep deprivation. You may write to him at mitchbenselhealer@gmail.com. THE RELAXATION PROCEDURE

WARNING:

Due to the relaxation success of this exercise resulting in sleep, it is imperative you do not drive a vehicle or use heavy machinery while listening to this audio procedure. Do not attempt to smoke or drink during this relaxation process. If you are in a dangerous situation or outdoors where there could be predators, do NOT try this relaxation process. You MUST be in a safe location. Do not leave anything cooking on a stove or in an oven. Do not leave children unattended. When both of your hemispheres are asleep, you may not be aware of noises, people approaching you, or animals. The author takes no responsibility for accidents due to falling asleep.

Before you begin, let your family know you may need to be lightly touched on the hand or arm to be awakened.

Please wear comfortable clothing and be barefoot. The first time you accomplish this relaxation technique, it is best to do so on a hard surface. If you can easily lie down on the floor without harming yourself, please do so. In the future, feel free to lie on your bed when you go through the procedures. After listening to this relaxation presentation, in the future you may be able to go through the steps by yourself. Each time you perform this activity you will do it more quickly and easily. Eventually, you will be able to just think the word, “relax,” and be in a totally relaxed state. You may find this procedure may lower your blood pressure without medication.

Once you are horizontal, adjust yourself so you are lying on your back. Take a few moments to become comfortable. Let gravity partially determine your position. Your spinal cord and column should be straight. Your neck and head should be relaxed. Your arms are loose at your sides with your hands relaxed. Legs may be slightly open. Let your bare feet gently fall to the side with no effort.

Once you are comfortable, close your eyes. Keep your eyes closed as you listen to the rest of this. Try to clear your mind of daytime or other worries. It is time to take care of YOU. When you fall asleep, be prepared to sleep 8-13 hours and awaken refreshed. Bless you in this healthy endeavor.

VAGUS NERVE ACTIVATION

The first thing we are going to do is set your vagus nerve into action. This is a large torso nerve that connects many parts of your body from the brain to the colon. Its healing powers are easily activated and can improve your body sleep and mood. By activating it, chronic pain can often be relieved. You do not have to take any medicine or manipulate your body in any way. It is recommended that you activate the vagus nerve every morning to refresh your body and alleviate pain.

To stimulate the vagus nerve system, as I lead you, you will slowly take in 10 slow deep breaths through your nose. You will hold each for one second, and then let it out slowly through pursed lips so you make a soft noise as you expel the air.

As you accomplish this easy procedure, try to take in more air at each breath. I will count your breaths for you. I’ll have you take each deep breath in through your nose by saying, “breath in.” For the hold, I will count “one onethousand.” Then I will say, “slowly release air.”

Let’s start:

1. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air
2. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
3. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
4. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
5. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
6. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
7. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
8. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
9. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air.
10. Breathe in, one 1000, slowly release air. ____________________________________________________________________

NOW YOU ARE READY TO BEGIN MUSCLE RELAXATION OF YOUR BODY

Picture yourself as floating on a cloud. Let go of all sensations of the ground or floor or bed under you.

Let those muscles relax. Breathe deep breaths. You have many complex bones and muscles in the foot and ankle area. Try to relax the muscles supporting and surrounding your right foot and ankle. Relax the muscles all over the ankle.

Your lower right leg has easy to relax calf muscles. Between your ankle and knee of your right leg, think to yourself that you are going to relax any muscle that’s in a state of tension. Don’t hold it the leg in any position. Let go. Then let all your calf muscles relax until your lower right leg is at rest. Let gravity hold it down. Apply no pressure. Around your knee there is much connective tissue such as ligaments and tendons supporting the knee and keeping it from dislocating. The muscles below your knee are already relaxed. Now, lets include the connective tissue surrounding the knees. Don’t hold the knee up. Let it relax toward the floor. Feel it relax.

Now, put your attention on your right thigh muscle. Relax any muscle tissue you feel above the knee at the front and back of your right thigh. Your leg is in a state of rest. Let it relax. There should be no muscle pressure or tenseness near your hip. All your right leg muscles should now be relaxed.

Without moving your body, now put your concentration on your left toes. Think to yourself you wish to relax those toes and the muscles which surround them. Don’t hold your foot up. Let it fall with gravity. Move your mind to the muscles on the top of your foot above the arch. Think to yourself, you want to relax the muscles at the top of the left foot. You have many complex bones and muscles in the foot and ankle area. I want you to relax your muscles supporting and surrounding your left foot and ankle.

From your ankle to the knee of your left leg, can you feel any muscle that is in a state of tension? If so, I want you to relax those muscles. Remove any pressure from holding them in place. Let all the calf muscles relax until your lower left leg is at rest. Don’t hold your leg in any position. Don’t apply any pressure. Let your leg rest with only gravity holding it. At the knee joint, there is much connective tissue with ligaments and tendons supporting the joint. Your muscles above, below, and around your knee should be relaxed. Think to yourself that you are letting your left knee relax toward the floor. Don’t hold it in any way. Release it. Let it drop with gravity. Feel it relax downward.

Now, think of your left thigh muscles. Think that you are going to relax the muscles you feel above your knee at the front and back of your left thigh. You’re not using your leg. Let it relax. There should be no muscle pressure or tenseness at any place in either leg. All leg muscles and connective tissue should now be relaxed.

At the lower end of your spine, you have muscles that support your buttocks, or rear end. Several large muscles cross the buttocks and work with your body when it is in motion. Right now your buttocks are resting with your body weight against them. Think to yourself that you want to relax the muscles in the buttocks area. Relax. Release any tension around that part of your body. Let your buttocks fall with gravity. Relax.

We are in no rush. We’re going to address some large muscles beginning with muscles at the lower part of the spine on both sides of your vertebrae. Think to yourself that you are going to remove all tension to that area of your body. Let go of it. Don’t hold onto your lower back muscles. Let them relax. As you visualize the spine and muscles supporting them, think to yourself, relax. Keep your legs relaxed. If you have had any tension return to the legs, think of letting go. Relax the legs again if needed. Let them rest against the floor.

To support your back, your muscles may stay tense all day as you move around, work, stand, walk, drive etcetera. Right now, make a concerted effort to relax those muscles at the very lower part of your back on both sides of your vertebrae. Now, let’s move up the spine. Concentrate your thoughts as your attention moves up your back. Relax the muscles closest to and on both sides of your vertebrae as you move up. Again. Move up slowly. Imagine each vertebra and the muscles connected to it. One after the other. As I speak, move your relaxation up your spine. Muscles on each side of each vertebra will relax as you go. Relax the muscles upward, again and again, moving toward the neck. Muscles on each side of the spine need your attention to relax. Upward … again, relax those muscles. Think to yourself, relax. Relax. Relax. Relax.

Return your thoughts to the center of your lower back. You have a large outer dorsal muscle which begins at the tail bone at the lower end of your back and extends to the height of your armpits on both sides. This large muscle is connected to the outermost section of the vertebrae. Think of it as a large triangle of muscle from the tailbone upwards. It becomes wider as it moves up and extends across the back. This huge muscle mass must be relaxed. This dorsal muscle mass extending across all of your lower back has to relax. Think to yourself, you are relaxing muscles all through your lower back as your thoughts move up your back.

About halfway up your back, visualize another large triangular muscle that connects above the dorsal muscles about half way up your spine and extends upwards as far as your upper neck and across the tops of your shoulders. It covers your shoulder blades. This muscle mass also has to be relaxed. You have relaxed the very large dorsal muscle across your whole lower back. Now you have to think of relaxing the upper back.

It connects to the spinal area about halfway up your back, spreads out to the shoulders and up through the neck back. Think, relax my back. Relax the lower back. Relax the upper back. As you relax the main large muscles, you will be also relaxing many smaller muscles. Remove all tension from your back. Let your back rest on the cloud. Your thoughts are approaching your shoulders. Most of the muscles of your back along the spinal column should be in a relaxation mode. Don’t hold your back in any way. Release any tension within your back. Release any tension in your shoulders. Let your back and shoulders rest against the floor with only with gravity holding them. Don’t hold or work any back muscles. Relax. No muscle in your body should be tense.

As you reach your shoulders, let those large back shoulder muscles release any tenseness. Let them relax. As your attention moves to the shoulders, concentrate on relaxing ligaments and tendons, the connective tissue. Some muscles cover the shoulder blades from the back of your neck to the shoulders.

Keep your neck still. It is not moving. There should be no tension of muscle in the back of the neck. Let the back of your neck relax. Let it float in that cloud. Let all musculature of the shoulder areas relax around the body, front and back.

The muscles of your chest and abdomen must also relax. You’re not using them right now. They are not tight. Visualize the large muscles in the upper chest on both sides of the breast bone, your sternum, as it extends down from the neck. Let those muscles and on either side of the sternum relax from the center of the chest toward the top of your biceps at your arms. The shoulders may feel as though they are being pulled toward the floor by gravity as you are no longer supporting them. Again, relax the muscles over the front and top of the chest and over the shoulders. Relax the upper back again. Do not move any muscles. Do not hold any muscles tense. Think only of relaxing.

Think of relaxing abdominal muscles across the front of your torso. You have large vertical muscles from the center of the groin upward. Let there be no tension from the center groin to your chest. You have muscles under the abdominal muscles extending to your sides. So many muscles to relax, but you can do it. Think. Relax the muscles at the front of your body. Relax them. Relax. Let there be no tension.

At this time, turn your thoughts to the front of the neck. You have a strong muscle on either side of the neck covered by a broad large muscle that extends from the neck and outward over the shoulder caps. At this time, your head it resting against the floor with no effort. Relax the front neck muscles, the back neck muscles, and the side neck muscles.

Become aware of your face muscles. Feel your forehead. Let it relax and fall at the sides toward the floor. You have circular muscles around the lips. Relax them. Let your mouth fall open. Let there be no tension around your mouth. Think of the muscles surrounding the eyes relaxing. Below the eyes, your cheeks, lower jaw and chin have muscles to relax. No facial muscle should be tense. Relax your forehead again. Face muscles are so used to being tense, they quickly go back to a tense state. All the muscles on your face are to be let go again. Relax them all.

Your brain is divided into two parts, the right and left. It may be that you need to make a concentrated effort to relax both sides of your brain. If you have been in professions of great stress, you may have not slept with both sides of your brain for years. It could be you have slept with only one half of your brain and experienced sleep deprivation. That has to stop. Right now you are in a safe environment. You may rest both sides of your brain and you will be safe. I would like you to think about relaxing both sides of your brain, your whole brain, to help your body become more normal. Concentrate on letting both sides of your brain relax to allow transport of toxins out of your brain. Toxins which develop in your brain all day have to be removed. Allow sleep. You are safe. You no longer need to be alert. You can relax your brain and mind. Think only of relaxation. Relaxing your total body, mind and soul for sleep.

You have relaxed most of the body, leaving the hands and arms for last. Beginning with your fingers, let muscles in both hands relax. Relax the littlest fingers, the ring fingers, the central fingers and index fingers. The thumb has larger muscles. Allow your thumbs to relax. Allow the muscles in the palms to relax. Next, concentrate on muscles, tendons and cartilage on the back of the hand. Each finger has tendons connecting upward to muscles in the arm. Let the fingers and muscles relax. Don’t move your hands. Keep them fully relaxed. Let gravity hold them.

Think upon your wrists. There are several bones in your wrists with much connective tissue to allow for complex twisting motion. All muscle and tissue within the wrist needs to be relaxed. Think about where the fingers are connected and relax that tissue. Muscles around the wrist in any direction must be relaxed. It should be so relaxed that you don’t feel the wrist anymore. Let it go. Leave it to gravity. Don’t hold any pressure on your hands or wrists. Both your hands and wrists may feel like they are floating. Think of them being relaxed and pain free.

Keep the rest of your body relaxed. Inhale deep breaths as needed. We’ll next relax the forearms between your wrists and elbows. There are complex muscles within them, those at the surface differing from interior muscles. The muscles are connected at the wrist or hand on one end, and the elbow or upper arm at the other end. Think to yourself that all those tendons from the hands have to be relaxed. The muscles around the lower arm have to be relaxed. Between the elbow, wrist and fingertips, all tissue should be in a relaxed position. Do not move your body. Relax muscles throughout your body. Let all tension flow from the muscles. Relax the muscles.

The biceps of the upper arms are made of several muscles. Try to relax the connective tissue at the lower end and the bicep muscles themselves. With your arm relaxed and in a loose position, the bicep is stretched somewhat but not in tension. Let it relax so there is no tension or feeling of the muscle. It should be so relaxed that it will have little or no feeling. Concentrate on relaxing the upper part of the bicep where it connects around the shoulder. Think of the arms as relaxing and hanging loosely. Don’t move your arms. They are at rest. Visualize your arms floating. They have no weight. Your whole body should be at rest. Relax.

[image error]Think about your physical brain. The neurons and their billions of connections. The grey matter made up of glia which chemically controls the neurons and their connections. Consider this matter within the skull which makes up the essence of what is you. The right side of your brain is already relaxed. Your mind uses the physical brain to think upon your existence and your world which is here and now, in this place and at peace.

There is no reason why any part of your brain needs to stay awake. The left part of your brain which has been awake, perhaps for years, needs to rest. You need to ensure the left side of your brain is relaxed. You are in a safe place. There is no need for any part of mind or your brain to be alert. You are in a safe place. Think to yourself that you want all of your body relaxed, including your spirit and your conscious mind and brain.

Think to yourself, “My brain must rest. My brain needs sleep to repair itself. My brain needs to sleep to heal my body. I need my whole brain to relax and sleep. Thoughts of my mind are at peace. I want to remove any tension from my mind and body. I want to think only of relaxing my brain and of mindful thoughts. Let ALL of me be at rest. Mind, brain, body and soul.” At this point, there should be no tension in any muscle. Whether you sleep or not, your body should be relaxed and your mind at peace. If you started within a safe environment, both sides of your brain and your thinking should be about the peace in which you are placed. You should be relaxed. If you fall asleep during this process, hopefully, you should have both hemispheres of your brain/mind at rest. With your body also at rest, you should sleep naturally in a deep sleep.

PUFF PASTRY PIZZA

PUFF PASTRY PIZZA
 by Irene Baron

Serves 2-4   Preheat oven to 415 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cooks in 15 minutes.
Add left over condiments to lettuce for a side salad if you wish.

TEENAGERS LOVE TO MAKE THIS.
My daughter, Dominique, taught me how to make this simple recipe.  It was so delicious, I have made it often since. The easiest puff pastry is NOT frozen.  I buy mine in Walmart in the same section where you buy crescent rolls, pizza dough, etc. Keep a few packages in the fridge to use often. Puff pastry recipes are found everywhere with the resulting food item looking like took hours to make, when in reality, it is only minutes.

You will make variations of this often. It is so easy.

INGREDIENTS with which to experiment. Make it different each time.

1 sheet of puff pastry
Olive oil or vegetable oil for brushing on to the dough
1-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, (or cheese of your choice) grated or shredded
Condiments of your choice (what’s on hand?) Use as much as you desire. Suggestions include:
8-10 whole or halved cherry tomatoes
            8 oz canned mushrooms
1 cup or more of shredded Cheddar cheese

Meat (choose 1 or more)
Dry salami (I cut mine into smaller  pieces)
            Pepperoni
Ham, hot dogs etc. cut to the size your want
Cooked shredded/canned/grilled chicken cut into smaller pieces

Vegetables cut up, choose one or more -
Broccoli, onion, spinach, larger tomato slices if small tomatoes not available

Chives, basil cut up or 10-leaves, parsley
Goat cheese 1-2 TB optional
Salt & pepper to taste

 DIRECTIONS

Cover the cooking area of a large cookie/baking pan with parchment paper ($1 at Dollar Tree) or a baking mat.

Unroll the pizza carefully and place pastry sheet on the parchment paper. Adjust as desired.

Sprinkle some oil into the center of the pastry. With a pastry brush or clean fingers or back of a spoon, spread the oil evenly on the sheet leaving a ½ inch border at the edge.  Let no oil go on the outer edges of what will be the pizza crust. The oil will stop the center of the puff pastry from rising.

Evenly sprinkle 1/2 Cup mozzarella cheese on the oil. Leave dry edges of the pastry empty.

Add your condiments. If you use spinach or basil, use them last after the final cheese covering OR after it is cooked.

Add the cheddar or other type of cheese to cover the condiments.

Place the pan in the oven and bake 15 minutes. Check in 12-13 minutes to ensure the crust is not burning. You want it a golden brown.

Remove from oven. If the puff pastry air bubbles rise in the center, stick it gently with a knife in the air puff and it will collapse to become flat.

Sprinkle goat cheese over the surface to melt a little if you wish.

Slice & serve.

Add left over condiments to lettuce for a side salad.

MINDREACHER & GENOVESA ISLAND

MINDREACHER - GENOVESA
by Irene Baron.com   www. Mindreacher.net  April 2021

The second MINDREACHER novel in the series takes place at the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador in South America.

The primary island of the 2nd mindreacher psychological thriller novel is Genovesa Island, also called “Tower Island.” It is located in the southern Pacific Ocean at 0.3231° N latitude, 89.9580° W longitude.

[image error]The Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador. They came into existence millions of years ago when lava began to be ejected from the ocean floor. The islands are located on the equator about 700 miles west of Ecuador.

On the map below, you can see that Genovesa is the smallest island to the northeast. These islands were visited by Darwin who wrote about the evolution of the animals there. A video showing Darwin’s path through the islands is found at: https://www.usgs.gov/media/videos/image-week-galapagos-islands
[image error]The Galapagos Archipelago comprises 13 large islands, 6 small islands, 42 islets, and a number of small rocks and pinnacles which make up a total land surface of 8,000 square kilometers.

The Galapagos Islands, the group of submarine volcanoes that grew from the ocean floor, broke the surface of the ocean about 4.5 million years ago. New islands have been forming ever since. Each island is formed from a single volcano, with the exception of Isabela. It is composed of 6 volcanoes. Most of them have little vegetation and are mainly black and brown colors.

The Galapagos Islands are NOT formed at the Ring of Fire where two or more tectonic plates meet. They occur within the Nazca Plate. You can see in the diagram below how complex the plates of Earth are in that location. It has been increasing in geological activity.

It is believed the Galapagos volcanoes result from a ‘hot spot’ in the mantle of the Earth. A "hot spot" is region of high temperatures due to a plume of super hot liquid rock (magma) rising from deeper inside the Earth. The rising magma erupts through weak areas in the Earth’s crust.  When it emerges from the crust, it is called lava. It builds up over millions of years to create volcanoes. Another hot spot is responsible for the formation of the Hawaiian Islands and Yellowstone Park in the United States..

[image error]The Galapagos Archipelago’s hot spot remains stationary as the Nazca Plate, drifts over it at a rate of about 3 inches per year. In comparison, the North American Continent which contains the United States moves to the west and northwest at about 1 centimeter per year. The oldest island in that region is Isla Espanola in the Southwest. Fernandina and Isabela in the northwest are the youngest and most volcanically active.

LAVA TYPES – PAHOEHOE & AA

Like the Hawaiian Islands, the Galapagos magma forms a basaltic rock. Basalt volcanoes usually have gently sloping sides known as shield volcanoes which are circular or elliptical in shape. The dome-like shape of the Galapagos volcanic shield volcanoes looks like an overturned soup plate. Above water level, these volcanoes may have spatters of lava and ash on their surfaces.

[image error]There are two types of lava.  Pahoehoe, a Hawaiian word meaning ropey, is pictured to the left. It  has smooth, billowy surfaces.  Aa (Hawaiian  word for hurt) has a broken surface.  It has sharp edges and may be difficult to walk on.

Calderas are large, broadly circular volcanic depressions that are usually formed by the collapse of the roof of a volcano. That can happen with the magma under the cone is blown out leaving a hole. The weight of the cone causes a collapse which may fill in with sea water.  This happened on Fernandina in 1968. The floor subsided by 300 meters.

The Galapagos Islands are among the world’s most active volcanic areas today. There have been over 50 eruptions in the last 200 years. Fernandina has erupted about every 4-5 years since 1968.

In the 2nd mindreacher novel,  [image error]Genovesa Island is where most of the terrorist activity takes place.

In the diagram to the left, notice the breached caldera within the Genovesa Island volcano which is open to the South Pacific Ocean. Called Darwin Bay, it was created after a huge eruption in the past that heaved masses of lava out of lower reaches of the volcano.  The top-heavy cone fell into the void and created Darwin Bay which is about 2 miles across.

This caldera is an important location in the novel. The whole Galapagos area is activated, volcanically. That is taken into consideration in the novel. Much of the action will take place in the ocean immediately southeast of the island. This is a small volcano. It is only 210 feet above sea level. In heavy fog it cannot be seen. The low elevation also makes it difficult to find on radar. The breached caldera, Darwin Bary, is a popular site for tour boats.

[image error][image error]Genovesa is considered the best bird watching site of all the islands. Birds species found there include Blue Footed Boobies, Cactus Finches, Galapagos Doves, Galapagos Mockingbirds, Galapagos Petrels, Great Frigate Birds, Large Ground Finches, Lava Gulls, Red-footed Boobies, Sharp-beaked Ground finches, Storm Petrels, Swallow-tailed Gulls, Warbler Finches, and Yellow Warblers.

I spent about a week on board a touring ship in the Galapagos Islands gathering information for the second mindreacher novel.

Upon visiting Genovesa, I walked the island and enjoyed the multitude of iguanas and birds. The iguanas didn't move much. Since there wasn’t much vegetation, the The iguanas (pictured to the left) went into Darwin Bay to feed. Seals rested on the small sand beach there. The mother and younger seal on the beach let me take pictures from a distance.

[image error]Snorkeling in the center of Darwin bay, for about 30 minutes, I stayed about 15 feet above a pack of 15-20  rays that were gently moving their wings to stay in place in a gentle current.  The ship was near the eastern cliff quite a ways from me.  The Zodiac that dropped me off forgot about me until I raised my hand and splashed water. I had been quietly staying in place and looking down for so long with no movement, they had overlooked my position.

Seeing ocean life in its natural conditions fascinates me. I could have snorkeled in that bay all day.

That whole experience of Ecuador and the islands is a basis for the geological and volcanic actions you will find in my novel, Mindreacher II – The Galapagos Incident.

Everyone I've met who has read the first mindreacher novel is anxious for the second one to be published in 2022. It is so much fun to write. You'll find the pair of books so outstanding, you'll be anxious to read book #3! It's in the beginning stages and is totally mapped out. WOW!  It will also be action packed. As the Mindreacher hero, Major Jon Coulter, USMC, would call out - OOORAH !!!!

HOW THE BRAIN CONTROLS COFFEE PREPARATION

HOW THE BRAIN CONTROLS
COFFEE PREPARATION

By IRENE BARON  7 MARCH 2021

[image error]Yum! Time for my first cup of coffee today.

To make a cup of coffee requires mental calculations using both sides of my brain. Some people don't believe this to be true. According to resources, the two different hemispheres of the brain are "in charge of" different types of specialties. Let's analyze those specialties. Assume I make coffee every morning and have full capacity of both hemispheres of my brain.

What does my brain have to contend with to be successful in the basic act of making a simple hot beverage for my drinking pleasure?  I have listed alphabetically what categories of thoughts each hemisphere of my conscious and subconscious brain may have to become involved with to complete the task of making coffee in a Keurig.

THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY BRAIN CONTROLS RELATIONSHIPS OF:

Art – Do I choose the curved and double-walled insulated glass mug so I can see both the coffee and milk foam which is an [image error]esthetic and pleasant sight, or one of the straight-sided mugs? I could choose a ceramic mug with a memorable scene on the outside, the smaller LL Bean steel, insulated mug with no design, or the newer insulated steel camping mug with a small forest design? There’s always the smaller ceramic gift mug from friend Ruth Ann with the logo “I always thank my God for you …  1 Corinthians 1-4” on one side and  “Friend, 1 Corinthians 1:4” on the other side. It was made in China for the Lighthouse Christian Products Company. My daughter loves the cup for all the meanings it brings with it. My coffee tastes better when the cup is chosen is the right one for that day.

I enjoy making coffee at dawn when the streaming sunbeams light up the stained glass in the east kitchen window. That makes the day start out beautiful. That makes me look at the hand made baskets from Andros Island and the Forfar Research Station where I took classes for 20-years in the summer. The island of art with art reminders and remnants in my kitchen.

Belief – I usually made good coffee in the past.  I will assume the coffee this morning will also be good. I’ll use my favorite strong coffee for the first cup.

Big picture – I will have the active pleasure of creating a good cup of coffee and will, perhaps, end up having two cups. It will be a great start for my day.

Creativity – I keep Ceylon cinnamon in a shaker bottle to add to my drinks for the healthy aspects of the spice. The only cinnamon to have such properties is the Ceylon cinnamon. I buy it by the pound which is much less expensive.

If I don’t make a latte, I will use whole or dry milk. I can always add a dribble of vanilla and a teaspoon of sugar if I desire.  Some days I add a few tablespoons of a chocolate mix to my coffee. Today, it’s just coffee and milk and cinnamon. if I have the urge, I can make latter with foamed milk and sprinkle it with a sugar-cinnamon mixture.

Emotion- There is a peacefulness associated with such a simple task as making coffee the first thing in the morning. I will feel better once the coffee provides caffeine to wake me up for the day. It always reminds me of my Mother and Father enjoying one another’s conversations over their coffee  I also have happier feelings when my favorite tasting coffee is available.

Face recognition – not applicable this morning unless my daughter is awake.

Imagination – I can keep the lid off the coffee mug and take 2-3 pieces of individually wrapped almond biscotti to dunk in the [image error]coffee. If available, I might use whipped cream instead of milk.Twirling a whisk in the coffee will create a froth.

Interpersonal skills – I should ask my daughter if she would like some coffee, but she is still asleep.

Intuition – my intuition tells me the coffee will be good and I will be happy to have made it once it is ready.

Music – After teaching high school for many years, I enjoy peace and quiet in the morning. It is a pleasure not to have to experience the raucous sounds of a school all day. Perhaps in a few more years I may wish to listen to music during coffee making. (I doubt it! J)

Nonverbal – AHHH, peace and quiet. Unless the news is on the radio or TV, and If my daughter is not awake, I speak only to the dogs. Leo is a Bernese Mt. Dog and Cody is a terrier mix. Both are 3-year old rescue dogs. They love to be loved. When I enter the kitchen, they lie down to wait and see if they will be offered any tidbits.  Nope. They are not offered any coffee! They are active enough.

Spirituality – I thank my Heavenly Father daily for the food provided for my sustenance. Is it an early sunrise with sunshine [image error]streaming in through the stained glass art in my east window? A gift from my parents who purchased it from a church, it always brings pleasure to see the sunlit colored glass. Not only because of it creates fond memories of my parents, but because of the Christian affiliation. They bought a stained glass church window for each of their children.

I have been a Christian since a child with my education of Christianity increasing every year. The constant reminder from the stained glass, while making coffee and sitting at the dining room table to face the stained glass during the drinking the coffee or reading, makes the whole experience more pleasurable. So, there are definite relationships to spirituality if I drink coffee in my kitchen or adjacent dining room.

THE LEFT SIDE OF MY BRAIN CONTROLS RELATIONSHIPS OF

Administration – Today I check the bottom shelf of the cupboard above the Kurig coffee maker. It is filled with coffees from many lands. Some are instant, especially decaf. When I ran out of my favorite coffee a month ago, none was available at the 3iHOLSTER shop that sold it.  I had to wait three weeks for more to arrive. Owner, Scott Frank, called and let me know it was back in stock.

Analysis – Every other category result must be analyzed by the brain to ensure the process taking place is correct.  After all is said and one, subconsciously, the procedure will be analyzed. The next time ideas will surface to make the process more perfect.

Detail – Made by the IRON BEAN Coffee Company (ironbeancoffee.com) , I am currently drinking the “Thor” type which [image error]is100% organic Brazilian, roasted, dark, ground coffee. I most recently purchased a pound of the coffee.

This coffee is organic, fair trade and made of specialty Arabica beans.  The owner wrote, “We are a truly small batch coffee roaster, owned and operated by USMC husband & wife. We are grateful for your support.”

Being a patriot, I try to support active military and veterans.  It makes me feel good to know I START EVERY DAY SUPPORTING THE MILITARY IN THIS SMALL WAY. They are always in my mind.

On the back of the black coffee package is written, “Do not go gentle into that good night … RAGE. Rage against the dying of the light.”

It continues, “That poem above is a driving force screaming at you to live the fullest life that you can, fight for the good in this world, the good in your life. Do not go gentle, do not give up or give in. Revolutionize your life and don’t sit idly by while your days run past you.”

This epitomizes my mission in life. Don’t waste a minute.. I bought my coffee from the best holster shop in the United States. It is located in Zanesville, Ohio.
BEST HOLSTER IN UNITED STATES ? (irenebaron.com)

If I don't use the veteran manufactured coffee, I might use one my daughter

[image error]bought and left out for me.

Facts- If the overhead room light has to be turned on before the coffee is made, that action is usually the first to take place. My brain evaluates the amount of light without my thinking about it consciously. .

Caffeine will wake me up and keep my body activities regular. My older brother, now deceased, told me to start off the day with a hot drink to keep your internal body functions healthy. He was right. Coffee does the trick. Thank you, Herb!

Formation of strategies – I need to make sure the clear plastic water container of the coffee maker appliance has enough water for a 12-ounce cup of coffee and leave room in the cup for cream or milk. Eyeballing it, if I determine the appliance needs more water, I add distilled water. Tap water has too many chemicals to worry about. Drinking polluted hot tap water with a temperature that will assimilate into my body quickly is not something I desire. So, distilled it is.

If I forget to check the water, the coffee machine will stop the process and have a message on the top surface, “add water.” I have to check that I have my favorite ground coffee in the Keurig type containers.  If not, I have to remove the coffee from the cupboard and fill as many of the reusable, clean and empty containers that I have to make the next coffee extravaganza faster.

Knowledge- Coffee brands make a difference in how I enjoy the coffee. My daughter, Dominique, buys brand and non-brand [image error]coffee pods with flavors and sweeteners that hide the true coffee flavor. It ends up not being coffee, but a hot and delicious concoction containing coffee.  If I want a less expensive but still good coffee, I can shop at Aldi’s (aldi's grocery story - Bing)   or the local Reisbeck Grocery (Home - Riesbeck's Food Markets (riesbeckfoods.com). My favorite coffee brand so far is the Iron Bean coffee (Iron Bean Coffee Company | Fresh Roasted World Class Coffee Veteran).

Aldi’s, being an international store, has coffee from all over the world.  I am still in the process of experimenting with them to see if any are as good as the Iron Bean brand coffee. Some from Colombia are excellent. I should do a taste test with them and the Iron Bean. I find Aldi prices for exclusive brands less expensive than other grocers. I love the Aldi’s German cookies which can be dipped into my coffee for additional pleasures.

The owner of Aldi’s is the brother of the founder of Trader Joe’s groceries (The History of Trader Joe’s (thedailymeal.com). They are both German in origin which is sentimental to me as my maternal grandparents were from BadenBaden, a German town.

Logic – Since making coffee is a daily occurrence, the section of my brain which stores such notes and instructions is enlarged similar to an area which contains information of a hobby. Making coffee is kind of like a hobby. It’s one in which I excel and can experiment to make the process easier, healthier and faster. I don’t have to stop and think of each step and they have been completed so many times in the past, they are automatically accomplished. My brain knows what has to be done and in what order. It knows how to anticipate any body motion and complete that motion when needed. It has to move all parts of my body to complete the process of making coffee. So logical!  What a perfect creation the human mind and brain are.

Math – The main math I need to think about is choosing the right amount of coffee for the size container into which it will fall. This Keurig machine I use has selections for coffee amounts of “shot, 6,8 10 or 12 oz.” Unless I make a Chai Latte or concoction from my daughters’ purchases, I have to allow room for cream of some type. Therefore, the container will decide how much coffee is made. If I want the foamed latte, if I make just a shot of coffee, there won’t be much to drink. My brain has learned to make 8-ounces of coffee with the correct latte amount to fill up a large cup with coffee and foamed milk.

Organization When the dishes are clean, I have a huge selection of cups and mugs stored in a pull-out drawer.. (If I want a pot of coffee, I have to use a different method of making the coffee.) My thinking brain has me check the amount of water available, choose a cup or mug, select the roast of coffee and fill the Keurig pod with my selected coffee or use a purchased pod

Recall  - My brain recalls everything needed to make the coffee. Knowing that dementia begins around age 35, I am thankful that I am still alert and thinking. I believe the glial cells of my brain are active and healthy due to all the dairy foods and milk I consume.  Drinking 2-3 gallons of milk a week, my bones are dense and the glia in my brain healthy.

Reading at the dining room table during coffee consumption, I often use the metal book holder. It is a gift from my younger brother, Joel, and used with fond memories.  It arrived as a surprise and has been much appreciated. I think of him when I use it which is almost every morning. If I don’t use that metal book holder, I use the leather page weight  filled with lead shot that my Mother gave me to keep the books open. It originally had my initials stamped in gold at the center. It has been used so often, the gold has worn off. The memories of my Mother’s joy when she saw my reaction at receiving it always makes me smile.
[image error]. Sometimes I would use a memory tray to hold my coffee. Made alike a picture, under the glass of the tray is my solo cross-country FAA chart. By using the tray for my coffee and toast or tidbit, I recall many memories and the fun responses I had by pilots when asked to sign verification of my locations. That tray hangs on the wood below a stained glass window hanging in my east kitchen window.

Safety – The coffee maker is in a corner of my kitchen counter where it cannot be knocked to the floor. The refrigerator is to my left and the wall behind the appliance. As long as the coffee cup size relates to the amount of coffee chosen, there should be no spills of hot liquid. I don’t have to worry about spilling the water container as I don’t remove it from the appliance.  I remove the lid and pour in distilled water from the gallon jugs. The used coffee pods are not that hot when removed as I touch just the edges. The appliance is cleaned often to eliminate any microbes looking for a new home.

Science – Even though I enjoy coffee in the morning, at least 30-minutes after taking my thyroid medicine, I ensure I have plenty of milk during the day. When I get thirsty, that means I’m already a quart low. I have a desire to drink milk first. I always thought that desire was from my body needing the calcium. Just as children, when given a spread of food for lunches over a period of time will always choose what they need to feed deficiencies in their bodies, I thought adults did too.

I must have a lot of glial cells in my brain which control the neurons, for the desire for milk is constant. In restaurants I will often order milk, rather than coffee or other drinks, if not water.
MILK-FOR-MEMORY (irenebaron.com)

My mind has to think ahead of each movement so that I can move my body, arms and hands to complete all the functions of getting the cup/mug, finding the coffee I want, prepare the coffee maker, etc. That it has been accomplished many times in the past make the movements almost automatic.

Time Awareness- I’m usually not in any rush, so I can make coffee anyway I please to do so at any time of the day.

If I have tasks to accomplish away from the home, I must remember to not drink coffee until I return or ensure I have access to a rest room when on my missions.

When I was invited to fly Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania pipelines with Commercial Pilot, John Graham, I drank no coffee for two days prior to the flights and little liquid the day before. Being a pilot, I know most guys will fly 4-6 hours nonstop. If they do stop for a quick lunch, they fly another 4-6 hours. During such lunches, I drank little or no beverages

I had to dehydrate my body prior to such flights to ensure I didn’t disrupt John’s scheduled flight patterns. He has specialized maps to follow to inspect the pipelines and needs to do it in a timely manner. I always appreciated him taking the time to invite me to tag along. We got to catch up on news and I was able to take as many aerial photographs as I wished. In the process, I learned a little about the technology used by pilots following intricate and preset paths. Being a good and experienced pilot, John was always centered on the path, even though the pipeline was not easily visible. Because of the technology, the inspections were made more easily.

Sitting at the dining room table while sipping or drinking the coffee, allows me to watch multiple birds at the two bird feeders out the window to my right. It is with great appreciation of God’s creations with so many species of birds that I have additional enjoyments during consumption of my hot coffee. With insulated mugs keeping the coffee hot over an hour, I can extend the period as long as I wish. A second cup is not unusual for me when I am studying at the table.

Verbal – Making coffee, I don’t have to say a word. Purchasing the coffee I desire, however, is a different matter. I am fortunate Scott Frank lets me know when it arrives in his store so that I may buy some before it is sold out. I enjoy the banter between myself and whoever is at the register when I enter the store. Being a holster store with national acclaim, it often has gentlemen of all ages inside chatting about all the topics of the day, including firearms and holsters. It’s nice to see macho men out shopping with or without their significant others.

I very much enjoy making coffee for friends. We’ll drink our coffee while visiting on the front porch where I have a beautiful wooden glider and two comfortable outdoor chairs. We sometimes also visit in the back yard in the shade of tall pines or an umbrella at my small glass topped table. My back yard glider is beside an arbor with roses in bloom in the early summer. A homemade treat would usually be on hand.

During COVID-19, we were able to keep our social/healthy distances from one another in an outdoor location.

SUMMARY

You wouldn't think making a simple cup of coffee n a machine would cause so much work in the brain. Every step taken had to be planned and executed by the brain. Every action made by the human coffee maker with, eyes, mouth, legs, feet, arms, hands and fingers had to be thought out before the acts and worked out with the different aspects of my brain. Something as simple as making coffee, when thought out per right and left brain basics, becomes very difficult to imagine. The thoughts in the brain are at light speed, not the plodding along the typed words on this screen or paper.

Creating an artificial brain in a computer seems to me to be a non-ending project.  Every day we learn new facts. All tjat knowledge would have to be entered into theartificial  brain.  We do it automatically with millions of connections between glia and neurons.  A computer would take much more time to do it and be less efficient, energy-wise.

Medical Express reported: (Controlling your home with the power of thought (medicalxpress.com)

“Our highly developed nervous system enables versatile and coordinated movement sequences in complex environments. We only notice the impact on our daily life when we are no longer able to perform certain actions, for example, as a result of a paralysis caused by a stroke. A novel approach to put the patient back in control would be brain-computer interfaces that are able to read signals from the brain. Such signals can be used as control signals not only for neuroprosthetic devices, which aim at directly replacing the lost motor function, but also for any computerized devices such as smartphones, tablets or a smart home.”
