Movie Mondays: Frankenweenie

Welcome to the first BERNAT edition of Movie Mondays! Those of you who have followed me from place to place over the past few years are familiar with this feature. I started it on this blog as an ode to two of my favorite things: knitwear and movies. The demands of launching a yarn line had placed Movie Mondays on the back burner for a while. Now though, beginning bi-monthly on this week

Happy I Love Yarn Day!

Today is the 2nd annual, I Love Yarn Day -- a day to knit, crochet, and celebrate all that is yarn-y goodness. I hope you'll take some time to support the Craft Yarn Council's unofficial holiday by nurturing your own yarn-craft of choice. As for me, I'll be joining in the festivities by continuing to host the Chunky Lace Cowl, Stitch.Rock.Knit-along for Knit Simple and Bernat. Mostly though,

The Mothercraft: Spooky Yarn Wreath

This Halloween tell your kids a good yarn about a wretched wreath -- one covered in spiders and fringe! With a few supplies from the craft store and in under 2 hours, your home decor will include a bit of not-so-ferocious fun.

Stitch.Rock.Knit-along: Chunky Lace Cowl

It's Stitch.Rock.Knit-along time again! The current issue of Knit Simple Magazine is all about the holidays and to celebrate the festivities, I designed the Cowliday neck warmer. Knit in with a double strand of Sheep(ish) and with a easy lace stitch pattern, this project has all the makings for a great gift item! Whether you're making one for yourself or someone on that holiday list, I

The Mothercraft: Pompom Eyeball Weeds

I can't let the first day of one of my favorite months of the year go by, without posting a little Halloween somethin'. This month let the "eyes" have it with these pompom, eyeball weeds!
They're quick and easy to make, and the kids will love 'em -- well, unless you have pre-teens and then you'll at most get a side smirk. But I digress.

Here's the how-to scoop!

Red Scarf Project + Scarf Pattern

Star Stitch Scarf

It's that time of year again, for both knitwearing AND donations being accepted for the Red Scarf Project. Read my interview on the Bernat Blog with a representative of RSP--an organization that benefits foster kids and orphans. Also on the blog, is the Softee Chunky version of the Star Stitch scarf I contributed to the book, Craft Hope.

Mothercraft: Button Snake Activity

I've got travel on the brain. Maybe because this is busy season for us professional crafters, so there are several trips on the schedule for me over the next few months. Be sure to check out my calendar for upcoming events!

A few days ago I shared slippers that I made on a plane ride from Toronto, so today I thought I'd share a project I made to keep my toddler busy (well, for a few minutes,
