The world has its way of dealing with the damage we’ve incurred, but not effectively. While psychology wants to put me on the couch, God put me on the cross.

One method resurrects the pain, turmoil, and betrayal without purifying me of neither the original deposit nor the result – while God takes all of me and crucifies it, and then raises me to new life. The good, the bad and the ugly are gone, and in their place sit the life of God, at rest because the work is finished in me.
