An eclipse card with a twist! (and new products from Kristina Werner!)

Today I’m sharing a really cool eclipse style card with a little twist! There is a new release out today from Kristina Werner and she has graciously sent me many of her new products and today I’m using some of them for this card.

I am using her Wavy Lines Background Stamp for my design, along with the A2 Thin Frames Dies, a really fantastic basic die set that also comes with two word and shadow dies, hugs and hi.

All I did to add a twist was literally flip my eclipse panel 180° so ...

Swanderful new products from Waffle Flower

Today I’m sharing two lovely swan-themed cards featuring the new release from Waffle Flower Crafts. And if I may… they are SWANderful. 😂

Seriously though, I love the designs so much! Here is my tutorial showing you how these cards came togegther:

The Intertwined Swans are really fun, right? And then they open to reveal the greeting. Plus, the Overlapping Hearts Stencils is such a basic, all-purpose stencil set that you could use for many occasions.

And even though I...

Swatch your stamping inks! (plus a free tag download for you)

Swatching your stamping inks is one of the most useful things you can do when it comes time to pick the perfect colors for your next card or crafty project. Lately, I’ve been using a tag from Waffle Flower and I’ll share some of what I have done in the past, as well. All ways of doing this can work, depending on your preferences! Check out my video and my free title tag download is below.

How to pick colors for your cards using the Color Cube

The Color Cube by Sarah Renae Clark is a great tool for choosing color combos, but I think many of us crafty people get it, and forget about it. At least that’s what has happened to me! But today, I’m sharing how I use her cards to help me pick color palettes I would never normally gravitate towards. The stamp set I’m using is the Soda-Lighted stamps (and dies!) which is perfect to illustrate how great these cards are when you need to choose more than just a few colors.

Here is my tutoria...

Emboss then stencil… or is the other way around? Let’s test ’em both!

Today I’m sharing a simple but very all-purpose stencil and embossing folder combo and testing out what order works best for me. Emboss then stencil? Or the reverse? I have an answer for that in my tutorial. Check it out:

So how do you do it? I’m definitely going to try this out with more combos and see if it holds up! I really think this turned out nicely.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautifully foiled dahlias for your card projects

For today’s card project, it’s all about foil and Poly-Glaze! Gina K. Designs has a new release out today, including a new card kit and a coordinating Poly-Glaze Set that matches one of the stamp and die sets from the kit.

Here is my tutorial showing you how this project came together:
