First Blog Hop

This is my first blog hop! And as an author just starting out this is very helpful!

What am I working on?

I am currently working on editing a short story entitled Winter Wonderland. It should be out mid-April. It is a romantic tale of two best friends and how their feelings suddenly change when danger knocks on their door.

I am also working on a young adult/teen romance series Raining Love. This series is about a teen girl and her struggles with friends, her first boyfriend, her first heart break, and ending with a plot-changing twist that I will not mention just yet. The series so far aims to be 4 novellas (around 15k each while some will be longer). The books in the series will come out one at a time.

Lastly, am I working on a novel Catnapping Your Heart which is about the strange disappearance of all the cats from local animal shelters nearby a small town. By working together can the handsome sheriff and the beautiful and loving animal shelter owner solve the case?

How does my work differ from others in its genre?

I think my work differs from others in its genre because I keep it clean and meaningful. I instil Christian morals and ways of life into my stories. I do not filth it up by writing sex scenes or using curse words unnecessarily. I write about what interests me, and I hope that it attracts other people as well. I write what’s on my heart and hope for that reason it differs from others and people will see it as fresh.

Why do I write what I do?

Touching on the previous question, I write what interests me. I write romantic stories because that is what I love to read. I write stories involving good morals and strong Christians because that is how I strive to live my life. For my future works, I write about young love as it was something I did not experience at such a young age and it interests me greatly. I’m starting a novel involving cats because they are my favourite animal and I love them greatly (I am not sure yet which of the two women in the story I relate to: the animal shelter owner or the crazy lady who is catnapping all the cats!). I am trying to expand my writing talent by working on pieces of different lengths and audience. Therefore, I have two short stories to be published, a series, and a novel which target adults, young adults, teens, and all ages. I hope by differentiating my writing style more people will find out about me.

How does your writing process work?

Wow, that is a tough one. As a new author I do not have a writing process per say. When I get an idea in my head I just start writing and see where it takes me. That being said, I often hit walls in which I do not know how to continue my story. For my longer book series, I have written out a detailed plot happenings document but this is special to this one series. Normally I do not outline my stories at all. I don’t know if it is considered part of my writing process, but I almost always spend my writing time after 11pm and write into the early hours of the morning. This is when my fingers click softly at my laptop keys getting all these wonderful ideas out of my head. I feel most comfortable and inspired in these hours to write my stories.
