Happy Holidays!
Hi everyone!
I wanted to take the time to wish you all 'Happy Holidays'! It's been a weird year but thank you for following me on this great journey.
As a little gift, I've included the first chapter of my current WIP 'Dating in the Shadows'. Enjoy!
The cosy atmosphere in the restaurant wasn’t enough to quell the alarm bells going off in Vynette’s head. There was just something creepy about this guy. Even his hazel eyes seemed cold.
“Is everything okay?”
Timothy asked the question but not an ounce of concern creased his seamless dark skin. Vynette forced a smile and nodded.
“Sure. I just need the little girl’s room.”
She was out of her seat before he could budge. Her strides were slow but steady. The restroom had never felt so far away. Once she was inside a stall, she grabbed her cell phone from her handbag. Debbie answered on the first ring.
“He’s a serial killer, isn’t he? I told you not to meet up with him.”
Vynette didn’t want to humour her friend’s paranoia but Timothy was a hard sell.
“He just might be. I need an out.”
“As in an excuse or do I need to come and get you?”
She folded her bottom lip between her teeth as she thought. Timothy was good on paper but…
“Come get me, now.”
Vynette knew better than to ignore her gut. Taking a deep breath, she looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her face was a calm mask but it was hard to miss the unease shining in her eyes. She sighed.
An ex had once told her that she carried all her emotions in her eyes. It was one of the few truths he’d ever told. She fluffed her shoulder-length curls and dragged a few strands over her face. Chuckling, she flipped them back in place.
Timothy might be weird but even he would have questions if she dumped her hair over her eyes.
“Maybe I should give him something else to look at.”
Vynette pulled the zipper on her blouse down a bit more. Her cleavage wasn’t exactly one of her standout qualities but they got the job done. Reaching into her blouse, she adjusted her pert breasts in the push-up bra. When the rounded flesh became more visible, she appraised the results in the mirror.
“It’s worth a shot.”
Timothy looked up when she approached and his eyes brightened.
“Everything all right? I was just about to come looking for you.”
Somehow she believed him. Vynette gave him a tight smile, slid into her seat, and placed her cell phone face down on the table. She bought time by taking a sip of her drink.
“Uhm…I think I’m coming down with something.”
He frowned and for a brief moment, his mask slipped. She looked away and stretched her shoulders in an exaggerated movement. It wasn’t her proudest moment but she wanted to keep him calm.
There were only a few other patrons in the restaurant and she doubted anyone would come to her rescue if things got physical. Her distraction didn’t work. He still stared at her with an intensity that could bore through metal.
“Do you want me to take you home?” he asked while leaning forward.
“No!”
Her response was more abrupt than she’d planned. Timothy raised an eyebrow. Vynette swallowed and tried to smile.
“I already called my friend. She should be here at any moment.”
He slumped back in his chair. The smile was gone. She clutched the handbag in her lap. The flap was still open so all she had to do was slowly reach in and grab the small bottle of pepper spray. As her hand inched toward the bag, her cell phone rang.
Vynette grabbed it from the table. A balm of relief soothed her growing fear.
“Deb, I’m on my way.”
To Timothy, she said, “Sorry, she’s here. Thank you for dinner.”
She fled before he could answer.

The 'On the Beach' Trilogy is Complete!
Hi, everyone!
I recently published Book 3 of the 'On the Beach' trilogy - 'United on the Beach'. With that, I've completed Zoe's journey with her hot merman and an equally hot boyfriend.
It was fun to expand on Zoe's character. In the first book, we find her at an important crossroads in her life. She decides to be more open-minded and well...she's rewarded quite well.
By the second book, she's growing and dating but still, a bit conflicted. Seeing Grant a second time gives her some clarity on where she wants her dating life to go.
Finally, in the third book, she has an important decision to make. This time, being with Grant and the man she loves is integral to moving forward.
In the end, 'On the Beach' is a trilogy about a woman getting comfortable with who she's becoming and finding the right partner for that journey.
If you want to experience Zoe's steamy adventure for yourself, you can find the trilogy here:
https://www.amazon.com/Beach-3-Book/d...
As with all my erotica books, they are available on Kindle Unlimited as well.

New Release - Return to the Beach
Hi, everyone!
The sequel to 'Sated on the Beach' is now up and running on Amazon. It was a joy to get back into these characters and carrying Zoe's journey just a little bit further.
Here's an excerpt for you to enjoy!
I wanted to sprint to the rocky ledge but forced myself to take small, measured steps. There was no need to draw attention to myself. My breath caught when I made it to the edge.
There he was with eyes as golden as the sun, his smooth dark skin, and teeth as white as the foam that tipped the waves.
“Hi.”
My voice was barely a whisper. I couldn’t tell if it was because of how quickly I’d moved or the way my body instantly responded to his presence.
“I’m happy you came back.”
Grinning, I sat on the edge and swung my legs within his reach.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
If you haven't read 'Sated on the Beach', you can still get into 'Return to the Beach'! It works well as a standalone too.
As with all my books, 'Return to the Beach' is also available on Kindle Unlimited.

Guess who's writing a trilogy!
Well, since this is my blog...if your answer was me then that would be an excellent guess! I never thought I would write a follow-up to any of my stories but sometimes characters demand more.
In this case, my merman erotica story, 'Sated on the Beach', is getting two added books. I'm currently working on Book 2, which I've tentatively named 'Return to the Beach'.
In this book, Zoe is dating other men but can't stop thinking about Grant. Something tells her she can't move forward if she doesn't see him just one more time. Let's just say he's more than happy to see her again!
If you haven't read 'Sated on the Beach' yet, you should check it out. As with all my books, it's available on Kindle Unlimited.

New Release - Embracing the Storm
Hi everyone!
The urban fantasy erotic romance I mentioned in my last blog post is now up and running on Amazon. In it, my main character, Ophelia Madden, has her life turned upside down when she meets a god.
Check out this excerpt.
As I rose to go back inside, bright flashes in the sky caught my attention. It was as if innumerable lightning strikes were trapped in the clouds. Curious, I moved to my steps but didn’t venture down them.
In an instant, the lightning was set free all at once. My entire world went white and I heard the distinct crackle of electricity. The acrid stench of burnt grass filled the air. I rubbed my eyes while taking deep breaths to calm my thundering heart.
When my vision cleared, I rubbed my eyes again. Right in the middle of a section of my scorched lawn was the stranger from yesterday. He was shirtless and matte black pants clung to his muscular thighs.
Our eyes met. My mouth hung open. His chest rose and fell steadily. My gaze fell to the bright white electrical current licking his clenched fists.
What was he doing here? Jesus, did the lightning strike him?
“I should explain,” he began before looking around at my damaged lawn. “I’m so sorry. This will be remedied.”
It boggled my mind that he thought my lawn was my current priority. I shook my head and finally found the courage to speak.
“How…” I squeaked.
He pressed a palm to his forehead and swayed on his feet. The current surrounding his hands waned and then disappeared.
Spurred by concern, I rushed down the stairs.
I got to him in seconds. He reached out to me but his eyes fluttered closed. Collapsing in my arms, I buckled under his weight. While I cradled his head in my lap, I looked up to the miraculously clear skies.
What the hell was going on?

Can erotic stories have too much plot?
There was a discussion on social media recently surrounding plotting in erotica. Specifically, can an erotic story be too plot-heavy?
It's an interesting question considering that some persons think all erotic stories have no plot at all.
Personally, I think there's an erotic story out there for everyone. Some stories have little to no plot, others strike a balance, and the third kind has a more complicated story with erotic scenes.
I think most of my stories fall in the second category and a couple of them are in the third. (The urban fantasy erotica I'm working on now definitely belongs in the third group but that's another story).
Perhaps the real concern is that readers won't be interested in erotica that isn't a light read,
What do you think? Can an erotic story have too much plot? Would you stop reading if it did?

Underwater Pleasures - Only $0.99 this week!
This week you can grab a copy of my first merman erotica story, 'Underwater Pleasures'. In this fantasy tale, Zara returns to her Jamaican roots and learns some unexpected things about her family.
Here's a fun excerpt:
He interrupted her with a kiss. His lips were soft, but insistent on her mouth. As he parted her lips to slip his tongue inside, Zara’s concerns withered away. Something about this felt right.
Zara ran her hands down his chest and past his waist. The skin there was distinctively different from what was above his waist but not unpleasant. While she was exploring his body, he explored hers.
Grab your copy before time runs out!
