First Review

Well I've been struggling to make sure the review link was good on Amazon. Because reviews are so important in getting the word out on a new title. As a presale they don't allow reviews. The ebook released on December 1st, and since then I have been trying to make sure the review link worked. It's complicated because authors are restricted from writing reviews. That makes perfect sense of course. Guess what? I discovered my first review for Beyond: A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Lifeand it is a five star!!!

While it was my pleasure to write the story, it is a lot of work, especially during the editing process. The paperback has been approved and it will be available in about 10 days. This is barely in time for the holiday gift-giving season, but I am optimistic readers will be able to send the book to their friends and family in time for the holidays.

Hooray! New Release

Today is the day the kindle version of Beyond: A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Life is released for sale on Amazon. The paper back version will be released in one week. More to come on that.

When you spend so much time on a creative project, it really does feel like you are giving birth to a new idea or creation. I hope you will read my book and enjoy the fictional world my characters live in. Studies show readers have more empathy for others. I think this is a great quality to have.

Keeping this short I just wanted to announce you now may read Beyond in its kindle version, or gift if for the holiday season.

I call it the Eight Ball

Remember when you were a kid and you would turn over the Eight Ball so it could answer all your questions? They were pretty stock answers like "Without a doubt," "My sources say no," or my favorite, "Concentrate and ask again."

This history of the Eight Ball is fascinating. Invented by the son of a clairvoyant by the way--I'm just going to let you Google the rest, I need to get back to writing fiction. Which brings me to my point--that hand-held computer in the palm of your hand your refer to as your smartphone. Ain't it so?

Remember card catalogs, microfiche, and hours spent in the library? So, when I recently needed to know how many of my manuscript pages I needed to select for a 10-minute read for theWriter's Colony upcoming Poetluck featuring Eureka Springs writers. My nifty little smartphone knew the answer, outshining the Eight Ball once again.

By the way, please listen up all five of my followers. I want to let you know Beyond: A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Life is now listed on Amazon Amazon as a presell. Please tell all of your friends, family and social media contacts!

The holidays are upon us. Please stay safe.

Get Your Copy of White Oak for FREE!

I am learning so much about publishing. Every time I google something it seems like there are six new ways to promote your book.

Well, I just learned about offering your ebook for free and I'm willing to do that because I need more reviews and more readers. I'm probably not the only person ever that self-published a book then just kind of let it sail off to sea without me, like I did with White Oak. My readers have all said it is a good read and given me five star reviews. That feels amazing, I just need a few more readers right?

So I'm asking you now to tell all your Goodreads friends about the give away.

Be my guest to enjoy the book for free. I just ask that you please write a review when you are finished with it. I would do the same for you!

Beyond Cover in Progress

Beyond cover in progress

I am so fortunate to have been given a creative mind. It is nothing to take for granted. I look at it as a passion for problem solving. My best asset can become my downfall however if I'm not careful and I let myself drift into obsession. Actually to complete a novel, you do have to be slightly obsessed. Just sayin'.

Beyond has really helped me stay positive during this horrific pandemic. My kids are grown, my dachshunds untrainable and my husband, well let's just say he is not easily directed. These loved ones leave me with a lot of energy to solve problems like what will happen next in this paranormal thriller.

Artist Lorna Trigg is currently working on the cover art. She is a multi-talented artist, herbalist and yoga instructor. Beta readers and editors are polishing the manuscript and we will be ready to release Advance Review Copies soon.

Currently a temporary cover appears on Goodreads Beyond A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Life by Ruth Mitchell

In other fun news I will be doing a reading from Beyond at a virtual Poetluck for the Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow on November 19th. More to follow on that event.

Asking for your help to market my latest book

Okay folks I sure could use your assistance in marketing my newest book, Beyond A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Life by Ruth Mitchell. It is currently with my Beta readers, but I'm hoping for a mid-November release date.

This is what I'm asking: Please suggest to your friends on Goodreads that they follow me. Maybe this is a big ask, but I sure need to build my following, so I can get the word out there.

The more people that I can reach now, the better.

Per suggestions by Alessandra Torre of inkerscom.com I have already put a temporary cover and uploaded a description to Goodreads.

I'm so excited to see this lovely story come to fruition, and thanks for your support!

Cloud

Cloud
Just wanted to share this picture with you of what Cloud might look like in my soon to be released novel Beyond: A Tale of Discovery on the Other Side of Life. Cloud is Laura's dog who can see ghosts. The two of them live in the Crescent Hotel atop Knob Hill in San Francisco.

Here we go into the wild beyond

Acting on the advice of bestselling author Alessandra Torre, I have added my book Beyond to Good Reads. The book is now completed and undergoing the process of being read by beta readers. Be aware that the cover is just a place cover and not the real deal. That will come later. If you would like to become an ARC reader when we get to that point, please contact me now.

I'm so optimistic about this story. I appreciate any support you can send my way!
