The Ultimate Guidebook
Everyone lives by a code of conduct. Sometimes instilled by society and sometimes by family. The reason we allow our lives be governed by such rules is simply to maintain a sense of order and avoid chaos. Imagine if we didn’t have rules governing how we drive and everyone just drove however they wanted. Unimaginable, right? There will be lots of accidents and deaths so we adjust how we drive by the rules of the road. For the same reason God has given us a simple rule book to gover...

Love it, dream it, do it.
Discipline is something I have always been great at. So easy for me to decide on something and keep at it until I get it done. But lately I find myself struggling to stay disciplined on certain chores I had once breezed over. I find myself making excuses instead of just getting on with it and doing what’s required to be done. So I ask myself why is it that I now struggle with being really disciplined. Why do I find myself not hitting the mark on some of my goals? I did some soul s...

Fire
"What have you given to God lately?" That was the word that dropped in my heart as I was about to fall asleep tonight. I immediately wanted to counter the word by saying, I paid my tithe and offering but the Holy Spirit reminded me of something God wanted even more... my time. I started to ask myself how much of my time have I given to God and it was looking like the first and last 5 mins of the day in a quick word of prayer. So I repented and recommitted myself to spending more time with God...

Reflection: Spouse Thingz
Written by Funmi Ilesanmi There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to choosing a spouse or is there? When love is involved it should be pretty simple, shouldn’t it? I have come to know that love is a choice – a choice to like and remain with a person despite all odds. Love is not the mushy can't-sleep-without -you feeling that we read about in romance novels, which has in a way given rise to separation, divorce and infidelity in today’s society. So if love is a choice, how do you...

Love exs Fear
For the first time in my life, I finally understand this phrase – “perfect love casts out fear.” I have often wondered what it meant and how to apply it, mainly because every time I read the phrase, it was in the context of the Bible only. For a long time, since I didn’t know the meaning, the application also eluded me. And then, this morning, it hit me! In a subtle “aha!” moment, I finally understood what I had sought for years. I recently found myself at the helm of a new venture and I was...

Hindsight
Growing up I remember my parents always telling me to do what’s right. They said to base my decisions on what pleases God and spend some time reading the word of God everyday. As a young child those advice sounded right and easy to follow. But as I grew into a teenager and then a young adult I started to realise why they had spent many nights and days telling me all of that. I started to see that it was easier to take what doesn’t belong to you than to work hard for yours, that it was e...

That night the king could not sleep...
“That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him.” Esther 6:1 I often wondered if it was sheer coincidence or if there was a larger force at work in the story the bible passage above talks about. So it happened that a while ago two men, Bigthana and Tersh, were plotting to kill the King. One man, Mordecai, found out about it and informed the Queen Esther and for some reason the King wasn’t told but...

Buying a tablet at online marketplace
An online marketplace is a truly revolutionary solution for reconstructing a good old familiar market. Though it is not a brand new invention, it keeps surprising users with functionality and convenience for years. Working similarly to an ordinary market, it learned how to use all opportunities provided by web technologies for its benefits. As a result, sellers got a place where they can feel free. Actually, online marketplace is a spot for convenient shopping. It can be a classifieds website...

Balance
Balance is one of the hardest things to attain in life. Finding the right balance between work and play, eating and exercising, spending and investing is an act that people learn over time. Some people are born with a natural tendency to be disciplined and for these lucky few, attaining balance could be seemingly easy – or so you think. But even the most disciplined ones may to go overboard in one aspect of their lives compared to others when the scale tips from disciplined to extreme. What I...
