The Transparent President -

As I was heading out the door to work, I heard the following - not a direct quote, but the gist of it - from President Trump in a news conference.

"I am very transparent. I believe you would all agree with me that I am probably the most transparent president ever."

A real WTF moment for me. Transparent? Most transparent of all presidents? It was all I could do to keep going to work.

FINDING TIME

Time...
Never seems to be enough, or it is flying by far too quickly.

I started a new job this week - yes I change jobs often. I can now because I have Medicare and Social Security coming in. I need to work to keep insurance for my wife.

This week I went back to my beginnings, so to speak. One of my first jobs as a teen, was working at St. John's Cemetery in the small rural Iowa community

"A Strange and Twisted Story" "Memoirs of the (not-so) Grim Reaper"

Memoirs has been getting a lot of attention of late. In one week it moved from 14613 to 402 in it's genre. Despite my first negative review as well.

"Memoirs" is not a book for general consumption, quite the contrary. I even have taken the step of warning the reader in the prologue. Be aware, you, the reader are an interactive part of this book. The Reader talks to you as he describes his

A Heart-felt Thank You

Hello, and Happy Easter to those who are celebrating it. Happy Sunday to everyone else.

I woke this morning to a beautiful day on tap here in Wisconsin. I also woke with a pounding head-ache and thoroughly stopped up sinuses. Scratch taking down the Christmas lights, although it's only one strand left. I have to get the extension ladder out for those boys.

I also discovered, upon checking my

Wow! Laughed out loud January 8, 2019
Fantastic! "Reaper" is a very unique character with a most interesting sense of humor. Unable to put this read down. So looking forward to RM's next book.

2. Donna reviewed Memoirs of (The-Not-So) Grim Reaper: Who says death doesn't have a sense of humor? (Five Stars)
Tah dah November 18, 2018
What a fun and potentially offensive read (hey sarcasm isn't for everyone). If you have a great sense of humor, and want to read an alternative and snarky take on the Grim Reaper genre, then this book is for you!

3. Tiffany Prock reviewed Memoirs of (The-Not-So) Grim Reaper: Who says death doesn't have a sense of humor? (Three Stars)
Started out good November 4, 2018
This book grabbed my attention from the first page. It also had a great ending. My problem was the long drawn out middle that had me skipping pages.

4. Bianca reviewed Memoirs of (The-Not-So) Grim Reaper: Who says death doesn't have a sense of humor? (Five Stars)
Absolute blast! September 1, 2018
I enjoyed this tale immensely.
The snarky Reaper won me over in spite of the cuss words, fortunately it was not too many. There were even a few tears!

5. Kathy Kelch reviewed Memoirs of the (Not-So) Grim Reaper: Who says Death doesn't have a sense of humor? (Five Stars)
Funny, irreverent, thought provoking August 29, 2018
I've been a huge fan of author Robert Ullrich for almost 2 decades but this one had me snorting coffee out of my nose laughing and then staying up late during "oh no" moments. This book surprised and delighted me even though it's not my usual genre. I've read it twice. (So far)

Rare Venture into the Political Arena

A bit of an editorial/rant. New venture for me.
This is in response to a comment that all the gun violence in America isn't Trump's fault. I never said it was. I was questioning the true nature of a National Emergency. Since I don't believe for one minute, the greatest threat to our country is poor people trying to escape poverty and persecution. You know, like the Pilgrims, the Irish, the Italians, Eastern Europeans, Cubans, Vietnamese.... I think you should get my point by now. If not? You have eyes, yet cannot see, ears, yet cannot hear...

So why isn't the culture of violence, and domestic threats, more important than a wall?
Mexican immigrants aren't responsible for the mass shootings that have become commonplace in our country, our businesses and our schools.
It wasn't an immigrant who blew up the Federal Building in Oklahoma. It wasn't an immigrant who rained death in Las Vegas. It wasn't an immigrant who ripped the hearts from parents at Sandy Hill. It wasn't an immigrant who shot up a church in Texas. As far as I know, it wasn't an immigrant who shot up any of the high schools. It wasn't an immigrant who shot up a movie theater in Colorado. It wasn't an immigrant who shot Reagan, Kennedy, or tried to shoot Ford. It wasn't immigrants who ambushed those police officers serving a warrant. It wasn't an immigrant who ambushed the Dallas Officers.

It wasn't immigrants who murdered two of my closest friends in 2007.

John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Son of Sam, Boston Strangler, Hillside Strangler, Zodiac Killer,  The Green River Killer, Ed Guinn...

I could go on for hours, and haven't even mentioned the racist who drove into a crowd, and barely scratched the surface on  home-grown terrorists, serial killers, church bombers during the civil rights movement, the opioid crisis, the fentanyl overdoses, the homeless Veterans, people starving and freezing to death while our President proudly takes ownership of shutting down our government, putting hundreds of thousands of everyday people like me, in dire straits. And forces them to work without pay?

It cost our economy Billions,  and he's ready to do it again, all for what now he seems amiable to be a wire fence. A worthless, ineffective barrier they are already tunnelling under. Why? Because he made a campaign promise to build a "wall" across the entire border, and Mexico would pay for it. It's nothing more than a bullshit worthless panacea to mollify the less than 40% of the country that actually believes he's trustworthy or even tells the truth. He didn't even get half the general vote. He doesn't represent the values, priorities or concerns of well over half our nation.

But, then again, he WAS a reality TV star, and he does have more bankruptcies than any President in history. He did, with the help of his dad avoid serving in the military. He doesn't understand, let alone accept the checks and balances of our government. He loves a Communist Dictator. He's done more for Russia than his own country. His trade war is close to destroying many family farms. He truly believes his "gut" is better than the Intelligence community, AND, he whines more on Twitter than a high school cheerleader who doesn't have a date for the Prom.

Sure, I could be wrong about him, just like all the staff that have left, or been indicted.

So keep stomping your feet, attacking Democrats as though they weren't citizens with the same rights you have. And, by all means, ignore all the indictments of his closest associates, or the fact Kushner was denied a security clearance TWICE, before nepotism took care of that little glitch.

Have a great Monday!
Peace and love to friend and foe, as well as those who disagree!

Freedom, isn't free.

In Service to My Country

ReceRecently, a family member called me out over a comment I made on Facebook. I used the phrase, "LOCK HIM UP!" in reference to President Trump, who I call "The Commander in Tweet".

He attempted to use the oath I took when joining the Air Force as a weapon. In essence, I was breaking my vow and not supporting the Constitution by criticizing Trump.

This same family member spent 8 years insulting and not supporting President Obama.

Forget the hypocrisy. My point is, the Constitution was written to protect the citizens of our country FROM the government. My oath was to protect America from all threats, foreign and domestic. The constitution protects my right to freedom of speech and criticism of my country and its leaders without fear of retribution.

Retribution from the government, but obviously, not from its citizens.
