Author Awards and Other Exciting News!
Two awards this year and counting! This summer has been such a blessing with a second award and a relaunch completed, what a whirlwind!

The relaunch of “The Miscarriage Project” on August 7th, 2022 went really well! The book was an Amazon #1 New Release for 30 days, in all or some of 3 categories and Amazon #1 New Bestseller in 2 of those categories, as well!! I’m so thankful for my launch team helping me make this relaunch an incredible success!
Then September starting with a bang! I found out my first children’s book, “Princess Amora” in the Princess with a Purpose Series, is a Readers’ Favorite Book Awards Contest FINALIST!!! That’s not all – I’ve been invited to the Award Ceremony in Miami in November – How cool is that?!!!
Dreams come true and goals come through with God – and He is so good, I can’t find the words to express how thankful I am to be living my author dream, in such an incredible way – already!
So my encouragement to you is to keep dreaming, keep making goals and keep working hard. Every step is progress!
God Bless,
A.C. Babbitt

Mom life – Blessing or Curse?
Today has been a rough day, to say the least. Five kids home for spring break is no picnic! I’m crazy for having 6 pregnancies in 7 years, but hey, at least I have a good marriage.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids so much, it hurts. But today, their sinful natures got the best of them. Fighting, arguing, pummeling each other, toy napping, you get the idea. My brain literally feels fried to a crisp.
All the while, they look to me to love them anyway. To set the example of how to resolve conflict. Admittedly, I’ve failed many times in this area, considering my recent pregnancy and now sleep-deprivation from having a newborn.
Despite all of this stress abs suffering, God has challenged me to dig deep. Dig deep into His grace and mercy, for I cannot parent alone. Dig deep into His patience, because mine has long since run out. Dig deep into my love for my kids, because God challenges me to see them as blessings to my life, not burdens to bear.
Reflecting on the blessings our children are, I am humbled by how easily I take them for granted. Our baby in Heaven is a constant reminder life isn’t forever without Jesus. There are no guarantees we will outlive our children.
That’s why faith in Jesus is so important. We always need Him to help us through the worst and best parts of life. Even motherhood – in the flesh or simply in our hearts desire to be one.
Dear God,
Help my fellow mothers and mothers at heart, be courageous women of God, not easily giving up their role. Nothing worthwhile is easy, and help us remember our value in your eyes. Bless and protect our children and our families. Help us be worthy ambassadors for you, Jesus. Let us not give up the good fight against evil, but rise up to the defend our cause. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Quick Update: Baby, Goals and a Sneak Peak…
Many of you may be wondering why I haven’t written in weeks. Well, we just had our baby boy on February 20th and we are beyond blessed!

Shout out to my husband, who powered through labor with me, despite my screams. Let’s just say I asked for an epidural a little too late, like 9 cm too late.
The last couple weeks of pregnancy, my mommy-brain was not letting me form cohesive thoughts. Now, I’m glad to be back, writing to all of you.
GoalsIn 2021, I have many goals I hope to accomplish. I plan to publish 2-3 books, finish a business for creatives program to build a better foundation for my business, and utilize my SPS course to better publish and launch these books.

For those of you who follow my writing, I hope you keep me accountable and encouraged. Having a new baby is great and time consuming, but I’m still me and I plan to continue my author journey.
If anything, I feel amazing, motivated, and more focused than I have been in a long time.
Sneak PeekLastly, what would you think if I posted sneak peeks of chapters to my NEW novel?

As I wait for my children’s book illustrations to be completed, for The Princess Who Changed the World, I’m looking to the future.
The next book on the horizon will be the fist novel in an anticipated YA Fiction series called, The Haven Diaries: Dating, Purity and the Unknown – Book 1.
I’m so excited to finish this novel and share it with all of you – it’s one of my best works yet!
Stay tuned for a sneak peek at Chapter 1!!

Christmas Traditions during COVID-19 Pandemic
This year, the holidays look much different than they ever have. Not many are traveling to see loved ones. As a result, families are forced to reevaluate their Christmas traditions, or have to scale them back.
As for my family, I have four little ones to account for. I can’t skip celebrating Christmas just because I can’t see my extended family. My kids are counting on me, to have a nice Christmas.
How Our Traditions Changed
Throughout the month of December, we have accomplished many common Christmas traditions. These are not all of our traditions, but by far my favorite ones. Despite COVID-19, we have made the best of this wonderful time of the year.
Christmas Baking
As a family, we’ve made and decorated sugar cookies and attempted to make gingerbread houses. Instead of gingerbread, we used graham crackers, but had no milk cartons to support our structures. The kids loved to eat them, anyway.

As a small group of women, we had a cookie bake. It was fun to see what other kinds of cookies other families make at Christmas. We made enough cookies for the elderly and shut-ins of our church. I loved including my daughters in the project, taking the chance to teach them giving and generosity.

Buying and Wrapping Gifts
Since my family and I were in quarantine late October, early November, I got this done fast! Thanks to Amazon and online shopping, I was done with my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving!
[image error]Pexels.com","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"christmas gift boxes under fir tree","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="pexels-photo-4834893" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com..." data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com..." loading="lazy" src="https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com..." alt="christmas gift boxes under fir tree" class="wp-image-5341" width="289" height="433" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com... 868w, https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com... 200w, https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com... 684w, https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com... 768w, https://i0.wp.com/thehavenblogger.com... 600w" sizes="(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px" data-recalc-dims="1" />Photo by Oleg Zaicev on Pexels.com
For those of you who know how much I procrastinate, this is a Christmas miracle!
As a result, I still felt a sort of guilt inside.
When shopping for household things or groceries, I would find something that could have been a perfect gift for a loved one, but I’d for sure overspent my budget. In hind sight, I should have made one for Christmas gifts.
Despite my previous notions, I didn’t feel done or a sense of relief to be done shopping.
No idea why I still feel this way, but it has been a good lesson in self-restraint.
It isn’t responsible for me to empty our bank account just to attempt people-pleasing success. Can you relate?
Wrapping Gifts
Don’t get me started on wrapping! Imagine an entire table full of gifts, halfway to the ceiling – and I wrapped them all! Well, most of them. Now that I think about it, I have run out of at least five rolls of wrapping paper, and used probably ten overall.
In my defense, some of them were used last year, and most were the character-printed, skimpy kind of wrapping paper rolls. I love wrapping gifts, but for the first time in my life, I actually got sick of wrapping. I still have to wrap two late coming gifts, and I just don’t want to. Pathetic, I know.
Christmas Caroling
Last but not least, is my favorite tradition. Whether it is at church, with friends, or with my family, I love singing Christmas carols.

Yesterday, after church, a small group of us went caroling at the local nursing homes.
As a group, we went window to window, singing of our glorious Savior, Jesus, and the celebration of Him.
This by far, was the most impactful.
The joyous faces of those trapped in their room, waving and so excited to see other people, singing to them. I can’t tell you how good it felt to see my kids understand the reason we sang to them, and to feel compassion and cheer towards them. That is priceless!
Reflection

In hindsight, I think this is God’s way of teaching me a lesson.
Teaching me to be content with keeping things simple, not overdoing it, and not worrying about the impression I make.
Instead, focus on teaching my kids giving, generosity and putting others first, etc.
Most of all, teaching them Christmas isn’t about gifts or decorations or cookies.

Christmas is just that, celebrating Christ.
His miraculous birth and coming to us as a humble baby, so someday pay for the sins of the world, for all time!
Now, He worth celebrating!

Grief During the Holidays
Today, as I casually scrolled Facebook, I came across a post from a college friend of mine. Back in the day, he was on my brother floor in college, and married my college roommate, Jill.
[image error][image error][image error][image error]Jill & Dan’s Wedding Day
In Memory of Jill
A year ago today, he became a widow. Jill lost her battle with cancer, and joined her Savior for eternity.
While I reflect today, about her life, and her impact on others, I am blessed to have known her – even for a short time.

Precious Memories
Remembering our talks in our dorm room. Her dumping as much white powder on the floor, to keep the bed bugs out of our room, it looked like a gingerbread house! Although, it worked!
The time she found a large black and yellow spider in her bed. As she had the top bunk, she jumped down so fast and screamed so loud, I couldn’t help but laugh so hard!
[image error][image error][image error][image error][image error][image error]4W Girls on the First Day of Classes, Jill’s Birthday Adventure, and a special Occassion
Even her suddenly streaking into her last floor meeting, as she was a senior that year, and the look on my female R.A.’s face was priceless!

In the words of Jill, “my roommate is freakin engaged! …alright ladies…this will be my 3rd roommate to get married, who wants to be next?!!! [image error]

“Handle with Care: How Jesus Redeems the Power of Touch in Life & Ministry” by Lore Ferguson Wilbert
Handle with Care: How Jesus Redeems the Power of Touch in Life & Ministry by Lore Ferguson Wilbert, is a rare book about the role of appropriate touch in the Christian ministry.
Wilbert’s premise is based on Matthew 8:3, “Jesus stretched out his hand and touched…” showing Jesus Himself used touch in His ministry.
“Handle with Care” is based on her theology of the beneficial and necessity of “healthy, pure, faithful, ministering touch” (Wilbert).
Wilbert’s purpose is to combat culture and the churches’ fear of touch being threatened or threatening.
In her ten chapters, Wilbert goes into detail about a variety of topics. These include: the types of touch, abuse, miscarriage, singleness, physical discipline, sibling violence, etc.
Review
Personally, I like how Wilbert includes questions for reflection or conversation in the back, both for groups or individuals, concerning each chapter. Wilbert is authentically passionate about this topic.
She even goes so far as to write a letter specifically to victims of abuse. I love how Wilbert acknowledges those victimized by touch, etc. and wrote the entire book with them in mind. How compassionate and considerate!
