Thoughts from a first-time non-fiction author

When Penguin Random House approached me nearly two years ago to write a book, it was a shock.

I thought the email from the commissioning editor was spam at first.

...then called the number to check, just in case :)

Here I am, 23 months later almost to the day, with a published book in my hands: Money School: Become financially independent and reclaim your life

I've had more questions about the process of writing and publishing a book than I have about the content of the book itself.

(I'm hoping it's because the concepts in the book are explained clearly!)

So, I chronicled my experience, from beginning to now, in seven posts you are welcome to read:

Part 1: Getting a publishing contract and my writing routine

Part 2: From conception to birth, books take longer to make than babies

Part 3: Applying Parkinson’s Law to save my sanity

Part 4: Perfection is (a) an illusion…

Part 5: The glamorous writer’s life 😉

Part 6: Recording the audiobook

Part 7: The Launch

I hope you enjoy them, and that they're useful if you're keen to get published yourself.
