Recent Reads: The Trouble with You

I really liked this one. Hailee and Cameron should not like each other. Why? well for starters Hailee hates all things foot ball and Cameron is a football player. Not to mention he's her brother's best friend. The same best friend who has made a sport of tormenting Hailee through out high school. So what happens when Hailee finds herself in a bad situation, Cameron is the one to save her.

This was a sweet brother's best friend romance with a hint of darkness to it. It was just what I needed to come out of my reading slump.

Recent Reads: Reckless Magic

I didn't know what to expect with this one. It's been a long time since I read PNR, but a friend recommended a few series to me and I thought what the heck. This was one of them and let me say, I was taken by surprise. It took me a few chapters to get into the story, not because they weren't interesting, but because I had a lot going on. And then the relationship between Eden and Kiran began to bloom. I was hooked. Unable to put the book down, I finished it in a matter of hours once I really started reading. Just as things started to work out for then, Karen does the stupidest thing imaginable. The book ends on a cliffhanger, but thankfully the whole series is available, because I dove right into them.

I seem to have forgotten where I was going with this, but if I can’t remember, I’m shopping for nothing but heartbreak.

       My head is spinning as all my cylinders are starting to fire again, and I’m coming to terms with what the hell I’m reading. There’s no way any of this can be true; right? They wouldn’t marry us. We were drunk. “I don’t feel so great,” she moans, putting her head in the palm of her hand.

       Glancing over, I’m blinded by a fucking diamond on her ring finger, along with what appears to be a platinum band that looks suspiciously like a wedding ring. Bringing my left hand in my line of vision, I see a black band on my ring finger, and I know we’ve done something incredibly stupid. Clearing my throat, I turn to face her, making sure I’m covered.

       “I hate to break it to you, but I think we got married last night,” I blurt it out, figuring it’s akin to ripping a band-aid off a wound.

       “What!” Her voice is equal parts shocked and equal parts questioning. “There’s no way.”

       I reach over, grabbing her left hand with my left hand. “See this?”

       “Fuck,” the word is little more than a mumble. “My manager is going to kill me.”
