Candace Owens Says Women Turned on Weinstein After Consensual Sex Because He’s ‘Not the Hottest Brad Pitt-Looking Person’ | Video

Commentator Candace Owens said in a recent interview that Harvey Weinstein’s accusers were lying, and that they turned against the disgraced producer after having consensual sex with him because he didn’t give them plum film roles in return. She also said Weinstein’s repulsive appearance also played a role.

Owens made the comment during a conversation with Tucker Carlson on Friday.

“They assumed he was going to give them these roles, and he didn’t,” Owens said. “These girls threw themselves at him, thinking there was going to be an exchange, and there just wasn’t one.”

She continued: “And then if you look back at your life, and now that you’re 50, and you slept with Harvey Weinstein — not the hottest, Brad Pitt-looking person — you’re like ‘What did I get for this?’

Owens said she believed the claims against Weinstein — who was recently found guilty of one count of sexual assault in New York and is also on the hook for a 16-year sentence in California stemming from multiple sexual abuse convictions — at first.

But after reading the emails his accusers sent him, and after seeing he had not been targeting young women who did not know any better, Owens said she started to believe Weinstein was wrongfully convicted. On top of that, Owens said Weinstein’s accusers saw dollar signs amid the #MeToo movement, believing Weinstein made for a prime target.

“I’ve never seen a crazier conviction in my entire life,” Owens said. “He literally got convicted because people were crying, even in the face of overwhelming evidence [that supported Weinstein].”

She added: “The cases are incredible. You were raped by him over the course of 10 years? Help me understand this.”

Owens’ comments come after she interviewed Weinstein, via prison phone, earlier this week; Owens is also facing a lawsuit from French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, after claiming she was born a man.

You can watch Carlson’s 128-minute interview with Owens below:

Where to Stream the Original ‘The Naked Gun’ Movies Right Now

“The Naked Gun” is in theaters now, introducing fans to the famous Frank Drebin’s son: Frank Drebin. Frank Jr. is played by Liam Neeson, and he carries on his father’s legacy with pride. But, have you caught up on his father’s legacy lately?

Leslie Nielsen originated the bumbling cop Frank Drebin on “Police Squad!” back in 1982. In 1988, “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” hit theaters, and became an instant hit. It spawned two sequels in the following years, but the good news is, you don’t need to see the first three films to understand Akiva Schaeffer’s new one.

That said, if you want to watch them — either for the first time, or just to remember how much you love them, or even to hold the new one up to for comparison — you can stream them all right now, and conveniently all in the same place.

Where to stream the “Naked Gun” movies

Right now, all three of the original “Naked Gun” movies are streaming on Paramount+ with a regular subscription. The first two can also be found over on MGM+.

Can I stream any of them without a subscription?

You can, yes. The third film, “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult,” is available to stream free right now on Pluto TV and Sling TV.

Can I stream the new “Naked Gun” movie?

Not yet. “The Naked Gun” is exclusively in theaters right now. We’ll update you when it joins its predecessors online.

Do I have to watch these movies before the new one?

You certainly do not. Akiva Schaeffer’s “The Naked Gun” is largely self-contained, with just a handful of nods to the original films. If you’ve seen those movies, you’ll be able to have a few extra chuckles, but in terms of understanding the plot and characters, you’ll be just fine.

Seth MacFarlane Applauds the ‘Incredible’ Timeliness of ‘South Park’ – Despite Years-Long Feud With Its Creators

Despite a long-running feud with his fellow animation giants, Seth MacFarlane expressed admiration for “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, sharing on “The Town” podcast Thursday that the series’ continued timeliness — and Stone and Parker’s day-to-day involvement — is “incredible.”

In conversation with Puck podcast host Matt Belloni, the “Family Guy” creator’s interview came just a week after the premiere of “South Park” Season 27, which virally skewered President Donald Trump with down-to-the-day accuracy.

“I would never trade our animation team for anything on ‘Family Guy,’ but their production cycle of, what is it, like, two weeks?” he said. “It’s kind of amazing.”

MacFarlane then highlighted some of the production differences between the two series, particularly in terms of their timeline.

“It’s pretty incredible that it’s — yeah, any show that lasts that long is pretty astounding,” he continued. “Our shows take about 10 months to a year to produce each episode, so we have to really kind of guess what the world is going to look like, which obviously gets harder and harder.”

The feud between the two shows began in earnest back in 2006 when an episode of “South Park” – called “Cartoon Wars” – depicted the writers of “Family Guy” as manatees who just select random beach balls with ideas written on them for how the show breaks a story. “Family Guy” fired back in the 2009 episode “Spies Reminiscent of Us” that featured Peter and Quagmire at an improv show where Peter’s decidedly “Family Guy” humor was a success with the audience while Quagmire’s more “South Park”-esque jokes got middling laughs.

“I just want to say for the record right now, we’ve seen Family Guy … we do hate it,” Parker once said.

In a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, MacFarlane admitted he was not quite sure where the “venom” from the “South Park” creators came from.

“It’d be interesting to know where it comes from because I don’t know them,” he said at the time, but later shared in an interview with Howard Stern that the animosity largely came down to differences in taste.

The Season 27 premiere of “South Park” is the latest viral episode of the show and saw the creators going after Trump and Paramount – which owns the comedy series – unlike ever before. The show depicted Trump in an animation style similar to how they depicted Saddam Hussein years ago – and similarly showed the current U.S. president in an abusive and toxic relationship with Satan.

MacFarlane’s latest project “The Naked Gun,” which he produced, is now in theaters.

‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Creator Teases Full Cast Reunion, 15 Years in the Making

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” marked a milestone on Thursday by airing its 200th episode. And when Season 8 comes to an end, the MTV series will be celebrating with yet another major moment.

“The season ends with their 15-year anniversary party. It’s unbelievable. It is the first time in the history of the show that they’re all under one roof,” creator/EP SallyAnn Salsano told TheWrap. “I mean, Sam and Ron have never been in the shore house together since they broke up. Ron’s family’s there, and Sam hasn’t seen them. So much drama coming.”

This week’s episode saw Angelina, Deena, DJ Pauly D, Jenni “JWoww,” Mike “The Situation,” Nicole “Snooki,” Ronnie, Sammi “Sweetheart,” Vinny and the extended family make their way to Jamaica for their first full international cast trip since Italy.

“Jamaica really puts everything together. It makes them all reflect, I think it hit them. We never really talked about the 15th year, and then when we were all in Jamaica and it was like a month away in real time,” Salsano said. “They all just started going to this place of like, ‘We’re older. What did we even know? We were strangers. Oh my God. What is our life without this show?’ Like, they were not adults when we all met. Pauly was the oldest, and Mike, but the truth of the matter is, all of their lives were just forming.”

In honor of the milestones, the reality TV mega-producer broke down exactly why “Jersey Shore” still works so long after it debuted in December 2009.

“On a lot of shows, you’re either the villain or you’re the good person and that’s just your role on that show. But I could say in my own life, I’m every character, right? I’m all of those things depending on the situation that I’m in. I feel that way about the cast,” Salsano said. “If you look at the seasons and the arcs, they’ve all had good seasons and they’ve all had bad seasons. But in the end, that’s what makes a well-rounded, honest, real person, and I’m proud of all of that.”

“What they do is hard, being a reality star. To me, being an actor, you have a way out – ‘My hair was for the role, they made me wear that outfit, that was just the script, the writing wasn’t ideal’ – this is their life, their decisions,” she added. “If their ass looks weird in the jeans, they’re their jeans. It’s their ass. They own it. They own their look. They own their style, or lack thereof, but they own it and there’s something about that that we all have.”

And as plenty of the stars know, fame does come with its fair share of criticism. But luckily for both them and the fans, neither aspect has really changed any of the “Jersey Shore” cast since Day 1.

“Sometimes when the cast members feel that the audience is turning on them the most is actually when they’re supporting them the most, because it’s a direct correlation. They hate to see them go down, but they root so hard when they go up. It is a wild, wild, wild ride,” Salsano shared. “The demise of Mike was something, but everybody rooting for Mike now is unbelievable. Angelina is so up and down, but the audience takes the ride — it’s such a push and pull.”

And ultimately, it’s the cast’s relatability despite being over-the-top characters that makes the show such a success.

“They go out with their friends just like every person in America does. They get a break. They go out with their friends. These guys, when they get together, it’s just a little wilder than when I go out with my friends,” Salsano concluded. “I think that’s why we have this many episodes, there’s not a scripted narrative.”

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Cinemark 2nd Quarter Revenue Surges 28% to $941 Million Off of ‘Minecraft’ and ‘Lilo & Stitch’

{"symbols": [{"proName": "NYSE:DIS", "title": "Disney"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:CMCSA", "title": "Comcast"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:WBD", "title": "Warner Bros."},{"proName": "NYSE:SONY", "title": "Sony"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:PARA", "title": "Paramount"},{"proName": "NYSE:LGF.A", "title": "Lionsgate"},{"proName": "NYSE:IMAX", "title": "IMAX"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:NFLX", "title": "Netflix"},{"proName": "NYSE:AMC", "title": "AMC Entertainment"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:ROKU", "title": "Roku"},{"proName": "NASDAQ:FOXA", "title": "Fox Corp"}],"showSymbolLogo": true,"colorTheme": "light","isTransparent": false,"displayMode": "adaptive","locale": "en"}

Thanks to a big turnout in moviegoers from spring and early summer hits like “A Minecraft Movie,” “Sinners” and “Lilo & Stitch,” Cinemark saw a 28% year-over-year increase in revenue to $941 million for second quarter of 2025.

An increase was expected after the second quarter of 2024 was hampered by the strike-induced delay of Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” and the disappointing performance of Universal’s “The Fall Guy” and Warner Bros.’ “Furiosa” led domestic box office grosses to fall below $2 billion for the first time in a non-pandemic Q2 since 2001.

But the over-performance of “A Minecraft Movie,” which remains the year’s top domestic grosser with $424 million, helped this past quarter match the $2.6 billion total of the second quarter of 2023, allowing theater chains to stabilize after a weak start to the year.

Other key takeaways:

EPS: Ahead of Friday morning’s earnings release, Cinemark was projected by Zacks Investment Research for quarterly revenue of $947.5 million and earnings of 78 cents per share. Cinemark more or less met those marks on revenue but missed with earnings of $95 million and 63 cents per diluted share.

Attendance: Cinemark reported 58 million tickets sold for the quarter, a 16% increase from the previous year’s quarter and a steeper 57% increase from the first quarter 2025. That equated to admissions revenue of $383.4 million

Concessions: As with other publicly traded chains, Cinemark continues to sustain itself through concessions sales, earning quarterly revenue of $308 million with per patron spending of $8.34.

“The second quarter once again showcased the strength and resilience of theatrical exhibition as a surge in summer moviegoing momentum reflected the enduring consumer appeal for larger-than-life cinematic experiences,” stated Sean Gamble, Cinemark’s president and CEO. “Cinemark fully capitalized on the robust second quarter film slate to deliver record-level results, including multiple box office achievements, all-time high food and beverage per caps, our highest domestic quarterly revenue ever, and one of our most profitable quarters in the history of our company.”

Cinemark’s stock has taken a slide in recent days along with the rest of the stock market, dropping 7.7% over the last five trading days to $26.87 a share at market close on Thursday.

Looking ahead, Cinemark has taken advantage of a fruitful July at the box office, where monthly domestic grosses reached $1.1 billion thanks to films like “Jurassic World Rebirth” and “Superman.” Earlier this month, the chain deepened its partnership with the Korean premium format company CJ 4DPlex, reaching a deal to add 20 more ScreenX auditoriums to their circuit.
