Hanna C. Howard lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the love of her life, where she divides her time between writing, tea-drinking, caring for her three young hobbit children, and puttering in her rambling cottage garden. Her favorite books are fantasies with a classic, fairy tale sheen, and while she loves a quirky or dramatic tale, she also requires a happy ending-- so you can be sure all her books will have one.

When I wrote Ignite the Sun, I was what we writers call a "pantser," which means I wrote by the seat of my pants: no outline, no plan, no real clear idea of where the story would take me. But I learned that that this style takes me a lot longer than plotting, and I now take lots of time on the forefront of a project to draft detailed outlines, character arcs, and scene beats. This saves me lots of time and grief, and keeps me from writing myself into dead ends. <3(less)
