I may have overindulged a bit over Easter. How about you? If, like me, you are looking for a way to cleanse your system after a few too many Easter treats, I recommend a good detox diet with plenty of water and fibre, plus liver cleansing vegetables like beetroot.
The excitement in the air around here is palpable now that my next book launches in just over 6 weeks!

It is festival time in Adelaide, which also means I recently attended Writers' Week. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this event, it is a free festival designed to bring authors and readers together with panels and book signings. One of the things I love about Writers’ Week is discovering new books to read and this year was no exception. But I also learned a lot thanks to a series of talks focussed on the business of being an author. My 2 biggest take-aways from this year:
1. There are local bookshops that stock the works of self-published authors, but it’s important to build a relationship with those booksellers first.
2. I want to read the works of Australian fantasy author, Maria Lewis.

One of the many things I love about working from home is the way I can even get stuff done in bed. Not always; there are lots of tasks that require sitting at my desk, but editing? That’s a different story (pun totally not intended LOL). When an old back injury recently flared up, I transferred two of my manuscripts to my Kindle and made the most of my bedrest time. My critique partner even gave her input…
My back has come good now, thankfully, and I am gearing up for the launch of my next book, Winter's Maiden 1.
