A message to me from Spain...
I wanted to share with you one of the most fantastic experiences I just had. A gentleman from Zaragoza, Spain - the setting of my new book Agustina de Aragón - saw the trailer on Youtube, and wrote to me on Facebook.
He was not happy with me at all and, using a translator, he told me that although he has not read the book, it could not possibly be good. "Certainly, you know nothing about the truth of her life", he told me.
I thanked him for his comments, using a translator, and began describing the contents of the book, Agustina's fight for freedom as a civilian, guerilla, then soldier. I told him that few people know her story in America and having great respect and admiration for her, and now a great love for Spain, I wanted to write this book as a tribute to her bravery.
After a few more conversations between us, he admitted that few people in Zaragoza remember Agustina's history, although he keeps a painting of her on his Facebook page.
And he commended me for my tribute. He also invited me to visit Zaragoza so I could tour her home town. We are now friends on Facebook.
Honestly, this conversation, prompting a friendship from so far away in the heart of the setting of my book, is the greatest success that I have ever achieved.

FREE Historical Romance...
On Amazon - 2/15 - 2/17
A fun, fast-paced historical murder mystery with plenty of twists and turns, unforgettable characters, a heroine who will capture your heart and a swoon-worthy hero.
Bounty hunter Wolfe McKay has an easy job to do. Kill the crew on a small canal boat and collect his money from the wealthy railroad tycoon. Easy, hell. The misfit crew on Streeter’s Ark are nothing at all what he expected. Not the crusty old peg-legged captain or Sam, the overprotective champion fighter, and certainly not their naive young mule driver. Finding out Sara isn’t a boy was shocking enough, but when he discovers a secret about her that even she doesn’t know...he’s got a tough decision to make.

Holbrook Manor
I need to share. One of my books has been getting great reviews...yet a few readers very kindly said the cover didn't fit the book - and they were right. As many know, I try to design my own because I cannot afford a good designer and struggle finding a good pre-made cover for the genre.
Yesterday, finally, I found the perfect image and updated the cover. I love it and can finally move forward to other things. I just wanted to share the cover with you because it made my day:)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

For Authors...
I have only been publishing for 1 year now, but during the past year, I have met some really phenomenal internal people at certain author websites who have gone above and beyond when I had a question or issue. Or, they were just super helpful and personable without even needing help.
I have a Readers/Writers page on my website. I know, I know. I should have a blog, but I just haven't found the guts to start one yet. Anyway, on December 1, I'm going to post on my website all the websites that I have encountered and give tribute to their excellent customer service....outstanding in my opinion. And I invite any author who may be interested to take a look at them. I'm sure many or all are already being used, but still....no good deed should go unnoticed.
In our indie world where promoting a book is far more difficult and costly than writing one, I have been astounded at how wonderfully helpful some of these sites have been.
My website is www.gailmeath.com or, just PM me here and I will share if you're interested/curious.
Thanks to all of you, too. Goodreads will definitely be mentioned.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Gail
