My birthday fishing trip.

There's nothing like a fishing trip for energizing me to write more. My birthday was yesterday and I enjoyed a trip to Stockton Lake with my family. It was a bit rainy but still amazing even though I didn't get anything more than a bite. You can read about it by clicking the link below.

Ozarks Writers League

Online conferences can be a drag if you have to go, but if you love the people there and the topics are valuable, then it's a great experience. That's what I'm doing today at the Ozarks Writers League virtual conference!

https://www.ozarkswritersleague.com

My cover designer, Mandie Tepe, gave a fantastic presentation with a question and answer session. That was so exciting for me! Awesome job, Mandie!

Book Review

Sands of Eppla (Sands of Eppla #1) Sands of Eppla by Janeal Falor

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've never read a book written from the point of view of a blind person. To my delight I loved it! Unique elements of the story had me from the cover to the blurb and into the pages of a fantastic novel.

Woman of the Stone (Modutan Empire, #1) Woman of the Stone by S.V. Farnsworth

Em is the Woman of the Stone in three ways. She's had it rough and feels as though her heart has turned to stone. Her clan has all died, leaving her the queen of empty land with enemies on all sides. The man she had intended to marry is forever out of her reach because she can't face the idea of intimacy. On top of all that, she's responsible for reuniting a shattered empire. Through it all, she never surrenders her humanity and finds a way to overcome incredible odds. Book two in the series promises her a happy ending.

Bits of Nothing by S.V. Farnsworth

I’ve learned to trust myself as a writer. My heart is on the pages and readers can feel it beating.
That takes courage, not just once but every time. I imagine that’s why everyone has a story to tell but so few people put pen to paper.
I wrote a poem about it once. I hope you like it. However, I’m so glad the fire in my chest is an inferno now rather than the flickering flame it used to be.
I’m confident you’ll love the characters in my books. The reason being, you’ll learn from them exactly what it takes to overcome the impossible.
We all have obstacles inside and outside of our resilient souls. Let’s face them together.

Bits of Nothing
I write upon the dead trunks of trees, paper dry and ink wet.
Want to be.
Press me softly lest I fail to tell the tale of a rising sea and a windy gale.
Trite.
Preferring failure, I digress, becoming loathe to put forth a single word.
Quitter.
I write nothingness, hiding in the branches of my mind.
Never was.
I am surrounded by leaves, the litter of trees, my words reduced to shreds.
Waste.
Forests hewn and ground to bits, I consume them by my hand.
Drain.
Forcefully tattooing my grief and love upon nature’s page, I mar myself.
Fool.
My will is not still. My hope flickers in the breeze.
Failure.
Undisciplined.
The volumes of my mind’s fruit are consumed leaving nothing.
