There are so many journals, aren't there!! I love Feminine Collective, Under the Gum Tree, Manifest Station, theSame, Mothers Always Write & Panorama Journal to name a few. I'm always looking stuff up in the classifieds of Poets & Writers website and New Pages website. Chicken Soup for the Soul often has great call outs on their website. Her View from Home also has a really generous writers' community and they pay for their essays based on views. What are some of your favorties?(less)

In non-pandemic times I have a pretty regular writing schedule during the week. As soon as the kids get to school. I get to work and write for 4 to 5 hours every weekday when I'm working on a draft. It's a bit different when I'm in edits or launching a book. But even with a regular schedule writer's block still hits me. I have to admit, there are times I give up and walk away, but not for good. I take walks, bake, watch a home reno show, but I always come back to the writing. I try to set word count goals for myself when I'm in the middle of a first draft and if writer's block hits then, I bribe myself with chocolate or time to read on my Kindle if I finish my word count. Sometimes I just keep writing through the block. I try to remind myself that somedays I will write a lot of crap, and that's okay. Because I can always delete, delete, delete!(less)

Baking Through the Writer's Block

Are you someone who prefers savory to sweet? I definitely lean toward the savory. Give me fish & chips over cookies and apple pie any day. However, one of the things I do when writer's block attacks, is bake. Tarts, pavlovas and apple cider donuts. Gooey chocolate chip brownies and French macarons. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Writer’s block is always a part of the process, but WHEW! During a pandemic it’s Read more of this blog post »

"This was a very, very sweet and romantic read. I picked up this book following a series of dark, dark romances, so it was almost like being walloped on the side of the head by sweetness, honestly. Not in a bad way, just in a whoa-way.

"This was a sweet, emotional romance, with a slow burn pace to it. I felt for Cass' situation, and Adam was good for her, but it took some doing to get him to make his move. He's not an alpha man the way I usually like my male main characters to be, b" Read more of this review »
