Review: Blade Runner 2049

Initial Impressions

I’ll let you know right now, reader, that Blade Runner is my absolute favorite sci-fi film ever constructed. I should say both Blade Runner films are my favorite, as that would be the truth. This film was the one I saw first, close to when it came out back somewhere around 2017. My dad introduced it to me with a line something like “There’s a Blade Runner sequel coming out. Isn’t that awesome?” My response at the time was “What’s Blade Runner?”

Oh boy. If I only kn...

Film Reviews

Whenever I watch a film, I feel the need to talk about what I just saw, and to analyze it in some way as a form of education for myself. Typically I just mull it over in my brain, either obsessing or remarking on how terrible the film was I just saw. Instead of losing those thoughts, I’ve decided to write them down on my perfectly usable blog so that I can formulate my thoughts, and readers can see my opinions on a film and either agree, disagree, or muse about it themselves.

How will this w...

An Old Shack, An Ambitious Idea, and A Low Budget

My first live-action short film project…

Yes, that’s true. All the small videos I did before with my brother don’t count. This is the real deal, with real actors, costumes, props, sets, and an entirely exterior shoot… sounds like a headache.

An Old Shack will be shot whenever COVID finally kicks rocks – so we may be waiting a while. It’s the story of two cowboys – one of them, a dark, conspicuous man, and the other, his sidekick and pack-mule.

They stumble across an old, bl...

2021

Yes. 2021. Finally. I won’t write the typical drivel about how bad the year was and how happy I am for 2021, etc., ’cause you’ve probably heard everyone and their dog saying stuff of that sort already. All I’ll say, since I think of myself as more of a realist, is that I hope this year holds some better things, even though I’m aware that stuff won’t change immediately – perhaps for a little while yet.

So what’s the news with me? First off, I have new merchandise available from a new ...

2020 Updates

So I’ve been unable to film the projects I was looking to film this year, but in place of those, I’ve been writing some interesting things lately. One of them being the project I will be filming whenever COVID-19 is sorted out and I’m able to do things again.

Between the Oak Trees is said project. It’s a complex, yet simple story about a girl who goes missing in a small town. Her friend, the protagonist, then starts to uncover the dark truth about the townspeople around her, who are not ...

My New Publishing: The Recognition

I’m publishing a second book. It’s a stage play script in book format, kind of like when they publish a Shakespeare play as a novel and annotate it; I won’t be annotating this one though.

The Recognition is a Black Comedy/Tragedy piece that takes place in an unspecified time period in Spain. Six actors are putting on a play dubbed The Tragedy – a kind of basic Shakespearean tragedy play that also takes place in Spain during the Inquisition.

We flip back and forth between the stage an...

Audiobook for the Plight of Steel

Yes. Thats correct. Ill be recording an audiobook for the Plight of Steel. I thought that since Im stuck inside right now with nothing else to do, I might as well get this done, since Ive been meaning to anyway.

Previously, I didnt want to record it, as I had no time to. The novel is over seven-hundred pages long with fifty-three chapters, so its certainly going to take a while. If I did a chapter a day, it would take fifty-three days, which would equal around two months to record the whole...

Quarantine… Will it affect EWIST?

Ive been wondering this for a while now, ever since we were forced to stay in our houses. Will this quarantine be lifted by the time we need to start shooting? I honestly dont know.

My plan for the moment is to continue with production as if we will be able to film. If, when the time comes, we are not, however, I will be forced to delay production until the summer of 2021. By then, Im sure, well be out of this lockdown.

Ill have to do this due to school. Ill be graduating from grade 12 next...

28 of my Favourite Films

With quarantine boring all of us out of our skulls, I thought I might share twenty-eight of my favourite films. These are films that have influenced, inspired, or just straight-up entertained me throughout the years. The rules for this list are that I have to have watched them entirely, and they have to be my absolute favourites so no half-and-half stuff.

In no particular order:

1: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

These are the three films that captured my imagination when I was very young....
