Where Did They Go?

Deep in the night I stop and stare,

At the stars in the night that fill the air,

I can’t travel to you though I must press on,

For my journey began before the early dawn,

The life that I live in this cruel dark space,

Speaks of the coming years and a quickening pace,

The people I’ve met in the journey here,

Reach out in the night with loss and fear,

They clutch at their pillows and toss in their beds,

For all they have now is what’s left of their dead,

The story in their eyes tell me to heed,...

Back to My Story Roots

This Blood is Blue

This blood is blue,

It belongs to truth,

Each letter is better,

Each wrong made smooth.

It makes great weight,

As light as you say,

A rhyme in this time,

Is how sweet dreams are made.

A hard word is a nail,

Your mouth a hard hammer,

Yet blood is still blue,

Truth’s voice does not stammer.

This blood is blue,

And if you speak the truth,

Then your blood will be blue,

And you won’t be rude,

And red stuff won’t matter.
