Harrowed Dreams – The Penny Prelude Secret #1111

Novella Description

Penny has dreams.Harrowed dreams. Stark and unsettling, they fly through miles of her subconscious, jar the corridors of restless sleep.

Although the nightmares affect her physically, the painful aftermath is the least of her concerns. Penny has no memory of her magnificent manor residence, no remembrance of any detail of her life. The staff who work in her exclusive mansion hold a certain fear in their eye, a tremble on their tongue. What are they...

Their Time Together

He held her hand so softly,

As she laid there and smiled at him through tears,

He closed his eyes into the memories,

That they’d made together through the years,

She asked him in a whisper,

How the doctor thought things looked,

He told her she’d be fine,

Like a line from a heartfelt book.

She knew that he was lying,

She could see it in her eyes,

And as she lay there dying,

Snow fell for a while.

This Christmas was a saddened time,

A wreath hung upon the door,

He thought of how he met her,

Years ago on the Florida shore.

The short time they’d spent together,

That started three short years ago,

In suc...

Wizard

I’ll change my name,

I’ll change your laws,

I’ll refuse to settle without just cause,

When lightning strikes you’ll feel my presence,

The evil will flee like meekly peasants,

And those of you left for the good,

Will ravage, siege, and hunt like wolves,

My heart is black and surprisingly full,

Like vicious spells from powerful bulls,

I’ll hold my scepter till the dawn,

I want the memory to linger on,

Dream a spell for a 365,

Just think of it for the rest of your life.

Mystery

I do not trust my thoughts today,

Of what’s outside–what now remains,

A mystery,

You can hardly see,

Passes at night,

While you drift in sleep.

In the clouds in the sky,

In the wind it seems,

A probing voice,

Of what the world will see,

A whisper sound,

A language broken,

Without recognition,

Since no one has spoken.

In the darkest woods,

In the deepest sea,

It listens there,

Watches silently.

Waiting in the Night

This past month I made considerable progress on Waiting in the Night. Three items come to mind immediately with this novel. First, the characters have taken shape very well. The people you will meet have heart and soul. They could be the people who live across your street or your friends. Depending on who you’re talking about, this is a great comfort or a living nightmare.

Slightly Behind Schedule

Second, I’m at 90% completion and while this is great progress, I should be finished. The last t...

An Interview with Liam Taylor

Today I have a special treat for you. I recently conducted an interview with Liam Taylor, the narrator of The Last Word. Not only will you know more about Liam on a personal level, you will also see he is vigorously following his passions in life. I applaud him for it. As I’ve stated before on the novel blogs, I am so grateful to have found him for the audio book! Without further ado, let’s dive in!

When did you first discover your voice talent?

Sat in a university dormitory, I first really...

Fairy-tale Romantics

Introduce me to,

The brightest dream,

The one unique girl who will be true.

As intriguing as a heart full of lovely tune.

A smile that is as special as if no one ever knew.

Enthrall me with a thought,

A dream, a plea, an afternoon to rescue me from these lonely, quiet thoughts.

Full of peace and love and memory that could not be contained or bought.

Impressed fully, till there are no other thoughts.

Just give me love.

My heart does speak again.

It’s been a while now since I’ve seen you, my go...

Waiting in the Night

It seems strange to be speaking about Waiting in the Night before the first is even released, but this is exactly my topic today. While The Last Word will go forth into the wild and be a strong topic for conversation and reviews, I have to keep pressing forward. (You can check some of these out on Goodreads. You can also listen to a portion of the audio book for free by becoming a Moonlighter.)

I am excited the reviews I have seen about The Last Word have been positive. I have no allusions to...
