Superpower Feature: Astronomical Manipulations

As most of you know, I’m obsessed with space. It’s something that has always fascinated me, from planets to interstellar phenomena. I find all that stuff super inspiring.

And, for those who read my books, you also know I’m obsessed with magic and superpowers…

So why not have both?

Superpowers based on space events are the basis of the Blue Star series (I mean, it’s right there in the title). We’ve got Finnley (supernova = telekinesis/telepathy), Nate (black hole = umbrakinesis or shadow manipulatio...

September Monthly Update

Holy cow, how is it already September? I mean, I will not complain about pumpkin spice EVERYTHING (yes, I’m a basic bitch and I will not apologize for loving pumpkin). But seriously, 2021 has been such a ride.

So, remember how I wanted to write 1 million words this year? Yeah, I don’t see that happening. I got so incredibly behind with vacation in February, some life happenings in the middle months, and then another vacation coming up next week. Too much. The other thing I noticed is that my proj...

Day in the Life

Ever wondered what I do all day as a full time writer? Well, it’s not all writing (though sometimes I wish it could be).

Here’s how I manage writing books and running this indie publishing stuff as a business.

4:10am - Wake up

Yes, I’m insane.

4:30am - Writing

One thing I’ve noticed about myself is that my days are 3x more productive when I get up and do something for myself first thing in the morning. Since switching to a morning writing session (instead of taking care of the animals immediately), I...

Top Fantasy Worlds to Visit

Raise your hand if you’ve always believed that your letter to Hogwarts somehow got lost in the mail?

We love a good trip into a fantasy world. There’s magic, whimsical fairies, lots of adventure, and mysterious creatures of all shapes and sizes. There’s nothing better than escaping into a new world and getting swept up with the scenery, characters, and plot.

Escapist fiction is fiction that gives you a psychological escape from the thoughts of everyday life. You immerse yourself in new situations ...

August Monthly Update

Can you believe we’re already in another month? This year seems to be flying by.

How is the weather treating you? This summer has felt quite brutal. I’m not sure if it’s actually hotter or if it’s because I’ve been forced outside to do yard work, but I’m 100% on board with winter coming early (if the weather gods are listening). Cold temps are my favorite.

BIG NEWS: For those who are frustrated with Kindle Vella, I’m offering a new way to read The Curse of Broken Shadows. Join me on Patreon for un...

Favorite Fictional Characters

At the start of every new year, everyone flocks to Goodreads to announce their goal of reading XX number of books during the year. Some people crush it, others flounder. Some pick lofty goals they will never reach, some prefer to pick a number that they’ll easily reach.

For the first time in a long time, I decided to join in. I’ve been in a reading slump for years. That is not an understatement. Between school and work, I barely found time for anything I wanted to do. But in March this year, I de...

Soul Remembered Playlist

YES it’s another playlist, this time for Soul Remembered, book 2 in the Blue Star series.

It’s obviously my tradition to have a playlist for each of these books, and the Soul trilogy weaves them directly into the story as you’re reading. I thought I’d give some fun, behind the scenes details to some of the songs and the corresponding scenes they were included in.

Fashion - The Royal Concept

First off, hilarious. I like to have my characters make fun of Clara’s lack of enthusiasm about dressing ‘nic...

Before I dig in to my collection of favorite quotes from some of my books, I wanted to announce that my epic fantasy project The Curse of Broken Shadows is now live on Kindle Vella! New episodes are released every Friday, and you can join the conversation over on Discord. There’s also a Shadows Series page here on my website that will be updated with more information as I write it!

Introducing: The Curse of Broken Shadows

Alright, it’s a tentative title right now, but I’m excited to announce my brand new epic fantasy series: The Curse of Broken Shadows!

If you’ve been following along on social media, you might have seen a few teasers and the cover for this story. You might have even read the first two chapters and met three of the five main characters (you can read them for free here). I’m 140K words into this story and getting closer to the end every day!

So, why am I announcing this project before it’s officially...
