10 Best Reads in 2023
There’s nothing I love more than flipping through my reading journal to collect my best books read in 2023. I definitely had a very thorough list to go through, with 140 total books read. I know that seems like a lot, but really I just buckled down and made it one of my priorities. You can find my 2023 reading list on Goodreads, but if you want the highlights, here are my top reads 2023.

Reflecting On My Writing Progress and Updates in 2024
Writing progress update for 2024! I thought this would be a great time to do a little behind the scenes for how I approach a new year and new writing goals!
Especially having just finished a book in November, 2024 really feels like a fresh start for me. It’s a time to hit the ground running come January now that I’ve celebrated the release of The Wings of Shattered Fire.
New year hits a lot different this time around. I discovered a lot about myself in 2023 and what I am capable of now that I’m no...

I am absolutely in love with Gemma and Elliot. Their retelling of beauty and the beast was so impressive and they captured my emotions entirely. I am such a sucker for a grumpy hero and the wolf king was perfect.

I had such a fun time reading this book. The writing flowed easily and w...

AUGUST book recs (pt 2)
just a smooshy list of some of my favorite reads this year.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca YarrosMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
yeah I’m on the bandwagon. no I don’t regret a thing
I think there was literally one thing I didn’t like about this book which was the occasional drop of a modern phrase in a fantasy setting (tipping of the hat, a mention of a playground (which sent me on a 10 minute tangent of thought about modern colorful play equipment in a fantasy village)). Other than that, I literally inhal...

Challenge details here. For August, I’m attempting to do a bit of writing practice to help with my craft and get my creative juices flowing. I found this challenge and thought it would be a great way to have a community and do something new!
