In a dystopian world
When the world around you has gone to hell, how do you treat criminals? Should justice be swift and severe, or served with a generous portion of forgiveness?
Yeah...obviously laws and rules of society have gone out the window.

The world is on a rapid downward spiral. Death and destruction await the unsuspecting. In order to maintain order, justice must be swift. It must be harsh.
Jannette Caldwell might be small, but she's a force to be reckoned with.
Book 3 isn't her book, but she does play a large part in the book. (Jannette's book is coming soon.)
Tiana has been under the thumb of her people for too long. She's found someone who can show her how to rise above her suppressors.
While Brooke is away, Jannette has been left in charge. She's declared the alien female off limits. Who would dare to defy a woman who carries grenades in her purse?

What Kind of Ending...
My young (8) granddaughter loves horror. So, she's my go to for what happens next...or how to end the book.
Working on The Hunger, I asked her about what I should do next. The villain takes the form of a small girl. Should she kill her friends, or her parents? Her answer? Her parents.
I'll be getting back to The Hunger soon enough. For now I want to finish Guilty. I asked her about how to end the book. Her answer...

RPG
Does anybody like to play video games? Imagine this...
You sit down at your desk, click on the start button. The next thing you know, you're flying across the room.
What happened?
A moment later you open your eyes and find yourself in a place you don't recognize. Looking around, you're amazed because it really looks like you just stepped back in time about 500 years. The sound of hooves echo around you, as a legion of knights approach. In the distance you can hear the sound of a hammer meeting steel from the forge. Your first reaction, it's a dream. After pinching your arm until it's purple, you realize it isn't a dream. Standing, you begin exploring your surroundings. Then the strangest thing happens. Something in the distance is charging toward you. As it nears, you realize you're looking at...but it can't be? How can it? There's no such thing as a half pig, half human...right?

And on we go...
I've got so many books going right now! On my desktop I have two preorders open that I'm working on. Two completely different kinds of books.
Book 3 from the Felidian Warriors still has a long way to go. But since I spend most of my day writing, I'm very confident I'll finish it in time. (By the way, it's up for preorder.)
Username Unknown is my first stab at litRPG. We'll see how that goes. I need to see if anybody likes it before I go forward. So...honest reviews, that's what I need.
I would love to hear from somebody about what they would like to see. Do you want more horror? More thrillers? What? I have several projects started. As soon as I catch up, I'll get back to them. In the mean time...

Welcome to the world Lex! Born 2/15/2021. Probably my last grandchild. Now I'm waiting for (more) great-grandchildren! Might delay my writing a bit...because I have to hold him...a lot!

2021 promises to be a busy year for me. I have 2 books up for preorder in the month of January. Both are under my pen name, M.L. Cook.
The first is about the beginnings of the Orc Nation. The book follows a tribe that narrowly escaped annihilation. Now they are making their way to a new home. Not all who trudge the path will make it.
The second book, for some reason, put me in the mind of Falling Skies. Anybody else love that series?
Brooke's sister was abducted by the aliens. What they didn't count on was the unbreakable bond between two sisters. Now she’s determined to bring her back, by whatever means she must.
Captured and tortured by his enemies, Dante has only one directive, nobody must learn his secret. As heir to the throne and founder of The Coalition for Unity and Peace, he commands thousands of planets. Planets that will fall to his enemy if they learn the truth.
After escaping capture, Dante’s ship crashes on Earth. Rescued by the leader of a small, but determined group of humans, he has decided to join forces to rescue not only her sister, but his brother as well.
