Razsorback Hollow

I'm very pleased to st6art getting reviews on Razorback Hollow. My first published romance so far is getting good reviews though I know we can't please everyone.

Next up AKA Johnny Elf which will be a thriller/crime thriller. I can't wait to start getting my edits back so I can work on it.

The cover is up in the air but that's being held up by me. I intend to do some of the artwork myself.

I hope everyone is staying safe reading good books and caring for each other.

The world according to the net

Wow so much going on sometimes it seems people can't make decisions anymore without reading about every little thing in the background of whatever choices they have to make.

Now with the presidents family members and ex staff releasing books the written world is stronger then it ever has been. Whether you agree with the current politics or not you have to admit people have gotten much harsher about supporting anyone with different views.

My concern is one day this will mean book burnings again. Classic sagas being removed not just from schools but libraries as well even the net.

What makes me, as a writer, wonder about is how do we know if we are writing something that 20 years down the road will be considered trash? Blasphemous? Racist?
There's a simple answer...we don't.

Now more then ever its time to write what you want to write and not what you hope people will like. The written word will always have power but the the tide of humanity will keep changing and we cannot keep up with that.

So off that subject. My book Razorback Hollow written under the name of Rene Moore is available and seems to be getting interesting reviews. When people talk about a book being different I always hope that its a good different and not different as in I wrote one thing and categorized it into something else. Still there's so many tropes out there we can spend a lifetime trying to find the ' right ' one.

So if your reading this pick up Razorback through KU and enjoy!

The human spirit

Alas it's been a rough year four people I loved have passed on and that of course has thrown me off course on my writing.

BUT thanks to the resilience of the human spirit I have started catching up. I've found that Enchanted is taking a page from current events that are getting weaved into the story. However that being the case it has to be subtle and not become over political or religious in tone.

The point of young adult fantasy is to take readers to someplace new and I hope I can do that.

Falcon Ridge also took a little bit of it's plot from current events. Mostly to do with what destroying the earth can do to humanity. This is a timeless trope that never goes stale so hopefully I will get it picked up by a traditional publisher.
Is anyone else finding their writing influenced by events of today?

The human factor

Sadly I lost a young man who was like a son to me and it has thrown off my writing horribly. I'm moving through the stages of grief and half heartily typing a word here an idea there.

I'm still releasing two books that will be back to back. My romance in April and AKA Johnny elf after that I may hold it till the end of the year so I can concentrate on managing Razorback Hollow.

Falcon ridge a horror is finished as a draft and I intend to look at it again in several weeks possibly months so I can go through and tighten it up and do anything I need to in order to make the story great for my supporters.

Enchanted is about 18,000 mark and this is were I'm chugging along like a old car with an engine that can't decide what part it wants to kick out first. I have the cover ( and thankfully a cover model release ) so that is one thing I don't have to do. I'm proud to share it. Alex Calder whom can be found on Facebook and the gorgeous model is Anhelina Sidenko in Ukraine 15.

Thank you for all your support

Johnny Elf

Welp Johnny Elf has fallen through and it's time to publish the darn things so I have to work on the teasers. Being the characters are so funky I'm going to hand do the teasers myself. Hopefully they will be interesting enough to catch people's attention. If anyone here uses traditional art for their books I'd love to see them.

Razorback Hollow is due out March/April and I hope to get good things on it. Here's a little teaser

Razorback Hollow

Razorback Hollow is now out of my hands and into the editors. I look forward to a professionally clean version. Here's a little sneak peek at the cover. I will be updating release dates over the next month or so as well as advanced copies.

Doubt is a green eyed bitch

I am excited beyond belief. I finally got a cover for Razorback Hollow. This story is a romance that takes place in the mountains. It is not my first rodeo into romance writing, I actually have two other books.
However, something happened, I didn't expect. Well, a couple of things actually.
The first is...I don't know if I’m good enough anymore. Yea, that's right, the little goblin named doubt has shown up with fanfare and luggage. I printed out the Hollow, and I’ve been changing things but thinking it’s not good enough, it lacks this, it lacks that. I suppose my beta readers will tell the whole tale. If they say, take the story and shoot it, hang it, and stuff it six feet under, I’m not at all sure what I’ll do. I could still use beta readers even if you’re a shooter bury them one. All feedback is useful.
My second issue is learning to work in short time frames. My laptop fan is out, causing the laptop to shut off. So, I need to have the ducts cleaned, and I have to make sure my exterior fan is running.
Still ironic, I got used to writing for five or six hours and wanted more, and now, BOOM! I’m relegated to two, maybe three hours. Very frustrating. But I will keep at it.
So, for those who don't know my pen name, Rene' Moore, (my middle and maiden name), I am coming out with Razorback Hollow.
I might also pull my crime thriller AKA Johnny Elf and release it too. I haven't decided yet.
Under my regular name, Elizabeth Bell, I have available now on Amazon: The Hostage and The Oni. I hope to get my 3rd horror, Falcon Ridge accepted, through traditional publishers. Anyone with advice, I would love to hear.
Finally, looking through other projects, I get to pick from:
Ty’s Heart, an underwater romance
Aleya Horror with its own cover about those spooky swamp lights
Morty, a demon romance
Nemo, Dark Angel, an urban fantasy
Hell Cat, a young adult novel
The Lizard Chronicles is also its for young adults
I’m sure there are others in the vault, and it will be how close to being finished they are that will determine what gets released, where, and how, but stay tuned!

Remember, as a writer, it depends on what you can finish. You can’t be a writer if you don’t write!

Demons to lovers

Greetings everyone thank you for your time. The holidays are coming up that means knuckling down on writing for me because even the hermit has to spend time with family.

It's a wonderful time really, I get to listen to my nanna trot out the how it used to be's. My sister brings up my most embarrassing moments in history to everyone who will listen. I try to show my boys and neices how to play Jenga and Scrabble in which I usually lose miserably and have to move on to one of those newer games they play like Zombies! And Cards against Humanity.

It's a time for putting weight on that you spend all year taking off so you can put it on again. Its standing uncomfortably in line to the bathroom sure your going to disgrace yourself and wondering if there's really anything wrong with depends and empty bottles. Bells and whistles being unpacked for the holidays and for me I get to tell my family the demon is out, the lovers are in.

The Oni is getting good reads from beta readers but I'm still waiting for reviews. It's a time to buckle down on Razorback Hollow which will debut under my pen name and be my first romance novel to present to the masses.

That means all the work I put into being a horror author I have to start from scratch and start fresh as a romance writer. Of course horror never leaves me and I'm working on Falcon Ridge but God damn it's so good I'm going to try to get it traditionally published! That is currently what I'm working on with AKA Johnny Elf.

To be fair to my agents I need to give it at least till February for Johnny. So the next book on Amazon will be the romance and after that maybe another romance or I may slide into the fantasy and YA zone. What do you think?

People tell me it's a bad idea to swing between genres since noone knows me as an established author but heck what better way to get known then to reach out to other genres if you can? Not to brag but when it's not holiday season I can get a shitload of books finished and I intend to try to release as many as possible before I die. But tell me as a reader what genres do you like?

UpLatest on release of The Oni

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has mad holiday plans!

The Oni will be released on October 25th via Amazon in both Kindle and paperback I look forward to reading what you guys think!

It's been an exciting time for me. ' AKA Johnny Elf ' is being queried to traditional publishers. I got my first rejection and I was so excited I printed it out and posted it where I can admire it!

I don't think I ever felt more like a writer than seeing that thing! I also got my first one-star review which sadly really didn't give me much in terms of feedback so its possible The Hostage just wasn't to their taste ( although someone told me that sometimes people go around leaving one-star reviews not sure why?)

I have completed Razorback Hollow a romance thriller and I'm working on Falcon Ridge another horror though I might release that as a novella. It's in the vein of Alfred Hitchcock's Birds.

After that, it will be time for me to scrape through some stories and possibly work on a couple of YA novels. I have several to pick from so just to give you a review I'll list a couple;

The Lizard Chronicles - YA about a kingdom of Lizards who have banded together to try to protect a stone that is responsible for their intelligence and elevated lives. ( kind of like Mrs. Brisby and the rats of Nimh )

Enchanted- YA a young girl comes across an Enchanted music box which sends her to a world where humans are ruled by vicious humanoid cats who are locked in battle with a race of canine folk

Morty - Paranormal Romance - A woman is kidnapped by a creature who is part demon who blackmails her into helping him find the Red Book - Satan's Grimore

Halfling - Horror a Halfling loses both his wife and unborn child and tracks down those responsible leaving death in his wake

Aleya - Horror Strange lights show up after an earthquake and lead several unlucky victims to their doom. One young boy is willing to do anything to save his sister.
