Free Kindle book

The Kindle edition of my new novella, The Hanging Tree, is free to download today and tomorrow. Here's the blurb and then the links to its US & UK pages:

Set in the mid 1800s, The Hanging Tree is a bittersweet tale of the love between two slaves. It weaves a story that evokes both happiness and sadness with threads of love, loss, superstition and threat.

Isaac and Oneesha live on a cotton plantation in Louisiana. They are afforded greater liberty than many of their people, but their lives still fall under the constant shadow of their position as slaves, a shadow that contains much which is fearful and perilous. Savouring fleeting rendezvous during the hours of darkness, they toil through the days and hope that their prayers for freedom will be answered.

This book is available in Kindle and paperback formats, though due to its very recent release some Amazon sites may no have linked the two formats as yet.

If you download it, I hope you enjoy the read.

Song of the Sea released one week today

Song of the Sea will be released as a paperback and Kindle edition a week today. Feeling a touch of nervous anticipation and hoping that readers will enjoy the read. It's similar to sending a child out into the world and hoping it will be well received.

Local Papers do Feature

I appeared in the Cambridge News yesterday in relation to the forthcoming release of Song of the Sea and will be featured in the Ely News tomorrow. The photograph accompanying the words wasn't too bad - and it's not often you'll hear me say that about a photograph of me ;-)

I've also heard that the novel will be reviewed in Cornwall Today magazine and by the Historical Novel Society, which is great!

Song of the Sea review copies posted

Thirteen review copies of Song of the Sea have been sent this week and I have already received my first response. A photographer is coming tomorrow in order to take a picture for the local paper, which will feature an article about me either on Saturday or next week, which is great news.

Hopeful that the book will receive a few other reviews and that the readers will enjoy it. Released on the 2nd of February, it already has a few Kindle pre-orders, which is something that brings a smile :-)
