Why do I write?
As most of you who’ve seen my videos or know me in person know, I am not the typical writer. I have a college degree, but my original aspirations were not to make writing a career. I started out with the idea that I was going to heal, run a business in my home, but life got in the way. I had a baby and my illness got worse, so I had to choose other options. Yet, because I chose this path, I am able to help people in a way I never thought I could. Still, you may be wondering why I ended u...

Budget Time – Get Real!
After we jot down the mandatory time sucks, the next big hill here is to make sure that your time is aligned with your goals. But, what are your goals? Let’s do an exercise:
Grab a piece of paper and a pen (I’m sure you’ve got those!) Put 5 minutes on a timer and write down all the goals you have, short term or long term goals. Reg...December 19, 2018
Budgeting Time Series #1- GET REAL!
This is the first entry of my time budgeting series. It’s a long-standing goal of mine to solidify an organized routine, so let’s get to it!
In case you missed it:
Budget Time Introduction
For this week, I want to know what my real issues are with time! Having a disability, time works against me for multiple reasons. I literally have spans of time where I cannot be active due to having no energy, being in pain, or havinng to put my strengths elsewhere. Thes mandatory time expenses are not thi...
Budgeting Time Series – Introduction
Time management is the bane of the lives of many writers. When we run out of time each day, it solidifies inadequacies and insecurities we may have already. I know that as a mom and budding business owner, I struggle a lot with this. To me, time is money, but even the truth of that is complicated. It’s a constant but ever fleeting at the same time. You have so much, yet so little to use!
I thought about doing this series to help my fellow writers to bring their productivity to the next level....

The Jumpstart To A Healthy Diet
If you guys know me, I have Multiple sclerosis. If you don’t know much about MS, feel free to check out my post all about it. When I was diagnosed, I started changing my diet and cooking at least 75% of what I eat. To me, food is so important to real health. Yes, I am a plus sized lady, and no, I am not at it to lose weight. We are what we eat, so efforts that can be made to clean up personal dietary needs, in my non-medical opinion, are an easy first step to move towards real health.

5 Reasons Why Social Media Sucks
Photo by Tracy Le Blanc on Pexels.com
Social media has really changed the landscapes that we writer folk thrive in. This can be for better or for worse.
Here’s my take on what’s wrong with social media:
1. Social media outreach is really the lesser of 2 evils for writers. You are in the know, or you aren’t up to date and fall behind really fast.
2. The majority of trending topics are ridiculous in a footnote, much less a conversation lasting for weeks or sometimes even longer
3. Getting your...

Michelle Visage’s “The Diva Rules” is a MUST READ
My favorite recent read was Michelle Visage’s “The Diva Rules[image error]“. I absorbed every drop! I’ve lived with anxiety all my life and have lived with a sort of insecurity parfait. Unlike other parfaits, it isn’t layered with different flavors of awesome, but layers of BS, self-depreciation, and illogical assumptions. Imagine toting that around for over 15 years!
The book spoke to me not just because I am a woman wading through equal parts of misogyny and faux neo-...

7 Things You NEED To Be A LEGIT Author *satire*
These days, anyone can write a book and say that they’re an author, especially if you’re sitting at home in your PJ’s, you’ve got to have more than just a handful of bestseller hopefuls to say you’re legit. People from all over will see what you’ve got and rate your success in their own mind, and I am sure this completely not crazy list will help every emerging writer have what they need to be official.
