Review Time: FLAWED by Cecelia Ahern

Hey bookworms! Happy Sunday!! Is it just me, or have you guys also ever read a book and felt like your life wouldn’t go on if you didn’t write a review for it? That’s this book for me. If you’d like to read my fangirling, thoughts and what actually happens in this masterpiece, keep reading!

SYNOPSIS (My Version)

Celestine North lives in a society where perfection is demanded and having human flaws is punished. The Flawed are marked, branded and treated as complete outcasts. Helping or aiding a Flawed is also seen as an offence to society. Celestine is a perfect girl. A straight A student, wannabe mathematician and she’s dating the impossibly charming Art Crevan. What can go wrong? Then she makes an impulsive decision and all of her perfect world comes crumbling down. Now she’s questioning the government she earlier admired, and is not so sure that the rules of her world are just. Unknowingly, Celestine becomes the face of a widespread rebellion. But can she prove to her world that to be human is to be Flawed?

REVIEW

This book tells you that you don’t have to try so hard to be perfect. None of us are. Beautifully written by Cecelia Ahern, this story leaves you with one loud and clear message: To be human is to be Flawed. Let’s not pretend we are perfect. Let’s not push others to feel that they are not. If you want to read a fast paced, powerful yet beautiful book, this one is a must. Hats off to the writer for her irreplaceable writing and amazing thoughts.

RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP: TEENS AND ADULTS

Book Review: |City of Bones by Cassandra Clare|

Hey bookworms! Happy Wednesday to all of you lovely people. Today I’ve finally gotten down to write a review for the book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading, so let’s begin:

SYNOPSIS (My Version)

Clary Fray is living the ‘normal’ theme life with her single mother Jocelyn and her best friend Simon. She’s even ready to go to the art college that she has dreamed of forever! But then this one night changes her life completely. Now, her mother might be in the hands of the darkest villain of the Shadow world, and she might just not know anything about her life at all. And to add, she just might be one of the Shadowhunters, a supreme race of beings that are sworn to protect the world from demons. Also, quick add, Clary might have also found the love of her life in the best shadowhunter in the institute, Jace Wayland. With her world toppled upside down, will Clary be able to save her mother in time? Will she be able to adjust to life as a Nephilim, and survive harsh training, strict rules and a dark past?

MY REVIEW

Aah, I don’t have words to describe what this book did to me. Or maybe I do. This series got me hooked onto it so badly that I hunted the TV series out and started watching it! I love the alternative Shadow world that Cassandra Clare has created and the larger than life characters that she has graced her novels with. Another thing I love about this book series is how strong the female protagonist has been projected. Clarissa is strong, courageous, compassionate and impulsive. Oh and, i’ve spent a major portion of time trying to get over how crazily cute Jace and Clary are, it burns my heart to read their  love. Do pick it up if you want a crazy, action packed and thrilling adventure on your mind.

RATING: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS

RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP: TEENS AND ADULTS

Hey bookworms! Aah, it feels so good to be back after so long. I know I’ve been AWOL since July, but after a rather refreshing break, I’m officially back on the blog! Thank you so much for not leaving while I was absent. I’m so grateful to have all of you in my life. In this blog post, I’ll tell you all that I’ve been reading and plan to read! Lets begin:

The Mortal Instruments: Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare

This book series by the genuis Cassandra Clare has totally got me hooked onto it and engulfed me in their reckless world. I’ve literally been binge-reading this one! Do pick up if you want thrill, action and whirlwinds of emotions!

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

Oh my god. Those were the only three words that I could utter after I read the ultimately unexpected climax of this ah-maazingg book. Agatha Christie is the uncrowned Queen of Crime and Murder mysteries, and this is hands-down another one of her unbelievable masterpieces. I’m at loss of words, guys, so pick this one up and see for yourself!

Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Oh lord. God save me from falling irrevocably in love with Hercule Poirot’s absolutely and frighteningly genius brain. Hercule Poirot amazes you, confuses you and surprises you in another one of Agatha Christie’s classic masterpieces. Guys, just go buy this one. You won’t regret it, I swear.

Vendetta by Catherine Doyle

This was another one of those books I randomly picked up to read and they turned out so well it surprised me greatly. This book is action-packed, romantic and very thrilling. It was a delight reading it and I hope to get my hands on Inferno soon!

Blog Tour: Daniel Daniels and the world’s worst zoo by Robbie Yates #blogtourhost

Hey Bookworms! Happy Tuesday to all you lovely people. I’m extremely happy to be a part of the blog tour for the hilarious book Daniel Daniels and the world’s worst zoo by Robbie Yates. Here’s my thoughts:

Synopsis ( Blurb)

Daniel Daniels spends most of his time doing one of two things:

1. Avoiding the school bully, or

2. Hanging out with his animal friends.

Unfortunately, Daniel’s animal friends all live at The World’s Worst Zoo, run by the cruel and crabby Mr Gregory.

One day, an unfortunate incident with some ointment at the zoo leaves Daniel with a few special tricks up his sleeve‌—‌tricks that he can use to save the animals, and teach Mr Gregory a lesson.

Curious, witty and sweet, this adventurous chapter book will charm and thrill the young and the young-at-heart!

A bout the author

Excerpt

“I’d once seen Mr Gregory try to teach the monkeys some tricks. I suppose he had been hoping that it would attract more customers to the zoo.

He was gesticulating wildly as he shouted commands. He was trying to get them to catch balls and clap their hands. The monkeys, of course, were not cooperating.

One monkey seemed to have figured out what Mr Gregory wanted them to do, and the cheeky fellow was doing the opposite. When Mr Gregory told them to go left, he scuttled right. When Mr Gregory said, “Jump!” he sat squarely on the floor. When Mr Gregory said, “Catch the ball!” the monkey simply watched as the ball arced over his head and landed in front of him. It was hilarious.

Mr Gregory didn’t think so. His response was to hold an enormous, luscious banana in front of the cage. Slowly, he peeled back each section of its skin. Before long, every single monkey’s eyes were fixed on the banana. Mr Gregory took one bite, groaned in satisfaction, chewed, and swallowed. Then, he yanked the rest of the banana out of its peel, dropped it on the ground, and stomped on it, grinding it into the dirt.

The monkeys were heartbroken. They hadn’t been fed for days.

One day, someone had complained about the birds squawking too much. Mr Gregory responded by eating his lunch in front of the aviary for a whole week.

“That’s not too bad,” I hear you say. Except that Mr Gregory’s lunch that week was chicken drumsticks.

“This chicken is delicious,” he had murmured. “I do love poultry. So tender and tasty.”

The birds got very quiet after that.“

Review

This book is adorable. I mean, adorable is the word for it. Daniel is amazing as the narrator and lead character. Filled with humour, lot of feelings and some phenomenal animal – human love, this book is a must read for all animal lovers. Though this is a children’s book, teens and adults can also read it for a lot of fun and frolic. Amazing work by Robbie Yates!

Review Time: Looking for Alaska by John Green

Hey Bookworms! Happy Wednesday to all of you. I just finished reading this amazing and heartwrenching book by John Green. Here’s my review:

“If people were rain,
I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.”

SYNOPSIS/BLURB

Before. Miles “Pudge” Halter is done with his safe life at home. His whole life has been one big non-event, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave “the Great Perhaps” even more (Francois Rabelais, poet). He heads off to the sometimes crazy and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young. She is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart. Then. . . .

After. Nothing is ever the same.

REVIEW

Oh my god. **gives standing ovation**. This book is absolutely heartbreaking and full of thrill. When you pick it up, its hard to put it down. Miles Halter has been fabulously cute as a narrator in the book. And my, what thinking does John Green have? The way he twists the plot so gently, makes each of his characters so believable makes the book so awesome. He is nothing short of a genius in the writing world. I’m blown away, literally. I read THE FAULT IN OUR STARS and wow, what a story. I have one complain, though. Why does my favourite character always have to die???? Anyways, I’m short of words.

RATING: **smacks forehead** doesn’t the standing ovation say it?

RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP: 13 plus. Strictly. You won’t understand half if you’re younger, however intelligent you might be. ADHERE!

Thank you so much guys for reading till the end!! I’m coming back soon with another post just as fun as this one. Find me, and let’s connect:

Review Time: A Soul Full of Stars by Bree Lauren

Hey bookworms! Happy Monday to all of you. I just finished this epic book by Bree Lauren and because I have a major book hangover off it, here I am with the review:

SYNOPSIS/BLURB

“I’m the sweat pooling between your shoulder blades, the sheets tangled among your calves, the tongue at your collarbone, and the sigh caught between your lips. I am everything you dream about when waking, aching.”

I sent that poetic text to a complete stranger. And you know what the best part is? He sent one back. This is the story of what happens when a spark ignites and stars collapse. When words are heartbeats and poetry is a promise. This is Sonnet Cole’s story, and it’s just the beginning.

REVIEW

This book is epic. Like E-P-I-C. Bree Lauren has amazingly succeeded in creating relatable characters that stay with you forever. Especially Sonnie and Hunter. I have loved every page of the book and just couldn’t put it down. The sizzling chemistry and quirky romance got me reeling with aftereffects. Bree, I love you! Bree’s Blog

RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP: Strictly 13 plus.

RATING: 5 stars for sure.

Thank you so much for reading till the end! I’ll be back soon with another fun post. Find me, and let’s connect:
