However, no one really took him seriously and thought it was his over active imagination playing tricks on him.
Suddenly, I received the news of his death at age 38, leaving an amassed fortune of millions of dollars undetermined in investment accounts and without a will.
In an effort to help his grieving family I volunteered to move his personal possessions and clean his apartment. While running a vacuum, I came across the clues or evidence for his claims, and at the same time his cousin was like a hawk, going through all of his financial records and accounts.
Later in life, and after much thought, I drew the conclusion that my friend's death was nothing less than murder, cleverly covered up by his cousin. (less)

For me, this beautiful young couple in their love for each other is a short tail of the pure struggle of sacrifice. For their secret attempt to bless or endow ones partner with the "gift" which is from the soul, each one however, with heart "misstep" can not reflect the congenial nature and reality of their mystic relationship. The practices of love and life are of a serendipitous consequence, but O Henry shows the readers the true intent of the characters in his story...well. With all of their flaws, I like the way the author uses the elements of circumstance to create and weave
an interesting plot with the added ambition of his characters driving the storyline all the way to the surprise ending. (less)

Truth

A deeper probe into the reality of investigative crime scenes over time and through-out human history prove that, of which
fictional writings can only be a scrapping of the complex nature of the "corruptible".

James Carrol "Things aren't always what they seem" quotation from Police officer Duke to young Tommy.
Chapter Two: Conspiracy Theory

Tommy quotes the Officer back to his mother/Frances, in a smug voice when she asked about his "conspiracy theory" concerning the death of Mr. Williams. His mother immediately shuts him down in front of best friend Ronnie later that night returning from the shore.

Tommy, lead-vice uses the quote while driving into Miami as a training concept for a "green" agent EJ, first mission undercover in pursuit of the White Dragon and Luis Gonzelas, the "fish". Speaking of the "set-up" police walk into a death scene.

"Things aren't always what they seem"

And the forth quote comes from Tommy's father as a foreteller of the events to come to the agents attempting to make the arrest with the Baltimore warrant in Miami Beach.
