I was looking for a scary haunted house novel, something similar to The Shining or The Woman in Black, and this was one of the recommended books. Now, I'll say that it didn't "scare" me at all, but it was a very different kind of haunted house tale. ...more

This book isn’t for the weak. Be warned, but in a good way. I’m a huge fan of this sort of story where several different ones are connected with a main theme, and Robert Essig didn’t disappoint. Definitely an author that isn’t talked about enough.
