Happiness In Chaos.

EV4I1BqX0AEZnvI.jpeg

Sapphira

Saph

Me

Happy to be trans

Happy to be a woman

Happy to be me

Happy to have my kids

Happy to have my family

Happy to have my health

Happy to have my friends

Happy to be in love

Learning to live without certainties is hard but the world is never certain. We can comfort ourselves with whatever works for us, be it dogma, denial or delusions but they never deliver, not long term anyway.

These are chaotic times and we all want to know when and how they will be over. But we just don't know. Ignore people that claim with absolute certainty how things are going to be, or how the world works, their words may seem sweet like sugar to you, but ultimately they will rot your heart.

Better to find happiness that doesn't depend on having to know everything.

A Story That Will Continue To Thrum In The Recesses Of My Brain.

mookychick.JPG

A lovely review of Stanley Park over at MookyChick…

‘A story that will continue to thrum in the recesses of my brain. This collection of 35 poems draws a narrative thread that kept me turning pages and wanting to know more about these two incredible women. Olson combines a direct narrative approach with the rich woven storytelling of Squamish Nation legends. It is a powerful statement of how thin the veil is between the connective tissue that binds together humans with nature and emotion.’

A Book To Be Loved

comulsivereader.JPG

A lovely review by Beatriz Copello of my LGBT love poetry STANLEY PARK at The Compulsive Reader.

'A beautiful collection of poetry. Kept me reading with enthusiasm & intrigue, not only because of the pristine imagery, the hint of mythology and fantasy, the veiled politics, the sad and happy remembrances, but also because I, being such a romantic, I wanted to know if the two women, like the cliché says: lived happy ever after. Stanley Park is a book about love a book to be loved.’

This Book Hit Me Hard, Right In The Heart

PhotoFunia-1585679546.jpg

I was so pleased that this review came in today on International Trans Day of Visibility. A wonderful 5 star review for The Girl In The Garden...

'Olson has done it again, she has left me speechless. Just WOW. She is such a talented poet that writes with heart, fire and courage that I admire and respect. This book hit me hard, right in the heart. I was an emotional wreck as I read all 30 poems themed around being transgender. It’s inspiring and gives hope to others, letting them know that they are not alone.'

Review Stanley Park: An Enriching Atmosphere Of Dreams And Untold Tales

I love this review. Read how the reviewer starts her review, it is so lovely …

‘Close your eyes dear reader. Take a deep breath. In…and out…repeat a few more times until you feel a sense of calm. Let your mind gently drift you to a place filled with laughter, love and life. Birds are singing, the wind is dancing with your hair and the grass is soft to lie on. You are surrounded by history and become rooted in its story. You never want to leave. Welcome to Stanley Park.’

Heres a liitle snippet …

‘Olson writes passionate poetry that ignites that fire we all have inside of us. The emotion is rich, warm and gives you hope. Hope that one day you will experience a love so strong that it will be whispered among the trees and leaves in centuries to come.‘

So burnt the midnight oil on this but following feedback from a test audience the cover to The Girl In The Garden has been completely redesigned. Painting done in acrylics and drawing inks by me when I should have been asleep. Book out tomorrow. Right I'm going for a lie down.
