Hello, Racheal,

Thank you for your question and excuse my late reply. I have written a novel years ago from a point of view of a cat but, I had to scrap it as it got ridiculous. Writing in a point of animal is different from a person's point of view. It can be tricky and I didn't think it worked for that kind of story.

This year, I had this idea of a man living next door who was a killer and found his next victim. I was going to write it in both Dean's and Jane's point of view.
I adopted a kitten this year. I was watching her play one day and had a light bulb moment. How about I write the story in the point of a cat! I kept saying to myself I hope this one will work. As soon, as I began to draft it, Theodore came to me what those opening lines and he was born.

I had requests from readers to turn this short story into a full-length novel to go more in-depth. I'll consider it but, I'm working on other projects at the moment. If I do turn it into a novel, I will add the point of view Dean and Jane so the readers can get into their heads. Will see.

Thank you agian, if you have more questions don't hesitate to ask I'll be happy to answer :) xxx

Hello Joanna,

Firstly thank you for your message and for being your favourite author that makes me so happy!

Not His to Take was a Nanowrimo basically this is an event where writers around the world gather every year in November and participate to write a 50K words in a month. I wrote it during that period I think of six years ago. I remember I watched this movie called RocknRolla directed by Gay Ritchie (I love his movies) I thought what if I write something with that theme and tone? The character of Elena is scrapped from another project and I always pictured Sinclair looking like Robert Downey Jr :D

Thank you.

“When we’re happy, we drink to celebrate. When nothing happens, we drink to make something happen. I drink to escape from the pain of life and to forget what happened.”
J.S Ellis, In Her Words

“It felt like I was living a stolen life that wasn’t truly mine. I sat on the sofa, placed my hand over my head, and silently screamed. When was this going to end? When is it going to go away? All of it.”
J.S. Ellis, The Secrets We Keep

“Why would anyone do something like that, and why?”
