It’s getting awkward in here.

Happy National Awkward Day!

As a native New Yorker, I’ve grown accustomed to saying hello to people I see on the street or smile to a stranger in passing. It’s a small way of showing respect and courtesy to others, and I’ve been doing it since I was a child. All New Yorkers aren’t mean..lol.

Recently, I had an embarrassing experience when I made the mistake of calling out “hello” to a person who I thought was a star from one of my favorite movies, but in reality he wasn’t the guy.

I was walking down the street and spotted a complete look alike to Leo DiCaprio. I rushed to say “hello”, like a crazy fan girl, but instead of responding in kind, this person just stared at me. It was so awkward.

I realized immediately that it was not in fact Leo and I had made a complete ass of myself. I quickly apologized for my mistake and explained that I thought he was Jack from Titanic. The stranger was understanding and laughed saying, “That’s ok. I get that a lot.” But I was freaking red as a tomato when I walked away. So yeah, not everyone is who you think they are when it comes to the Big Apple.

Happy National Women’s Month

March is celebrated as National Women's Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the progress and achievements of women around the world. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the history of the women's rights movement and to remember the courage and strength of the women who paved the way for the women of today. This month is also a reminder of the many struggles that women still face and the need to continue fighting for rights and equality. This National Women’s Month, let’s celebrate the women who have made a difference in our society and honor the resilience of all women everywhere. Let’s recognize the immense potential of women and girls and the vital role they play in the development of our societies. Let’s take this opportunity to renew our commitment to promoting gender equality, equity and justice for all.

I want to celebrate the amazing women authors who are independently publishing their work. Here’s just a few of the inspiring women in indie publishing who are pushing boundaries and making a difference:

1. Jia Tolentino – an award-winning writer and editor whose work on topics like feminism, culture and identity has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The New York Review of Books.

2. Emma Straub – the best-selling author of Modern Lovers and The Vacationers, who makes the indie publishing scene come alive with her unique voice.

3. Jenny Odell – the author of How to Do Nothing, an insightful and thought-provoking book about how we can use our time and energy to make meaningful changes in the world.

4. Roxane Gay – the acclaimed author of Bad Feminist, Difficult Women, and Hunger, whose work is essential to understanding the complexities of womanhood and feminism.

5. Jessica Valenti – the author of Sex Object, a powerful and intensely personal exploration of the ways sexism and misogyny shape our lives.

These are just a few of the many female authors who are doing incredible work in the indie publishing world. Let’s take this month to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of these women, and all the women who have been integral to the indie publishing movement.

NaNoWriMo and an update.

Hey guys!

November is NaNoWriMo which stands for National November Writing Month. It’s a time when all of us authors challenge ourselves by writing 50,000 words in 30 days. It’s hard, but doable.

This is where it all started for me - if you want to read that post click here. Every year I’m grateful more and more for this program. It’s a non-profit organization that not only gives authors a platform for resources and challenges, but also reaches out to schools to help kids with creative writing.

I’m currently working on Izel’s first book in the Warriors of the Underworld series. You may remember her from the novella, Bewitched Arrows. She’s the protagonist in that story. It’s her origin tale, where she meets her mates and begins the next journey of her life. She’s also in the Changing Fate series, as the help Azra needs to defeat Michael and Lucifer. Sign up for my newsletter to get a copy of Bewitched Arrows for free.

This series has so many interesting plots and you’ll get to see all the characters come to life again through Izel and her guys’ eyes. All of my series will be connected to this one in some way. Also, each story will be a standalone, so the adventure plot will be solved. However, it’s not recommended you read them out of order in case I leave Easter Eggs for other stories.

That’s it for me right now. I’ll be typing away the rest of the month and try to keep in touch.

Until next time,

<3 AC

Marked Witch Teaser

Want a little snippet from Marked Witch?

This is in an amazing scene between Thea and Hamlet. I didn’t think these two would find each other so quickly, but I couldn’t hold them apart. The sparks are flying everywhere and they insisted!

“You’re playing with fire, little hedge. And trust me, if you go down this path you’ll be turning into ash.”

Happy Halloween 2022

Hey guys!

It’s Halloween weekend! I can’t believe the end of 2022 is finally here. I’m so glad to be over with this year soon.

Just a little update for you all. '

I’m hard at work finishing up Marked Witch. This novel is really kicking my ass. I’ve probably changed the primary plot line about three times, but I promise you, it will be worth it. So far, Thea and her guys are moving along nicely on their new adventure. It’s got a lot more intrigue and suspense than the original one, and I think you’ll enjoy it more.

There’s a lot more smexy times also….

I’ve also outlined and have begun to write another series. This one is Izel’s story from Bewitched Arrows. The best part about this series is they have an established harem, and I get to have all the sex scenes from chapter one. It’s going to be an episodic series, which means there’s a completed ‘mission’ in each book, but an overall arc to the series. This is going to be exciting for a few reasons.

I’ll be inserting characters from all my series into their stories. You’ll get to see Azra, Anima, and Thea. Including some guys in each of the harems and the side characters. If you have a favorite, you want to see written in a story, comment on this post and I’ll see if I can make it happen.

You’ll find all the familiar places, objects, and magic systems in this series, too. We’ll be going back to Faerie and hanging out in New City.

There will be exciting plots with different supernaturals, monsters, and quests. If you remember, Izel worked for the Warriors of the Underworld before the Changer War. I’m going to drag her and the guys back into the world of hunting.

If you’re as excited about this idea as I am, let me know. I’d love to get some thoughts from the readers who love these guys as much as I do.

Stay safe this weekend!

Picture of Henry in his pumpkin sweater because I can’t stand his cuteness. He’s going to be a taco on Monday. If anyone has a picture of their pets in costumes… gimme! I love looking at all the babies.

Cover Reveal - Marked Witch

COVER REVEAL
Marked Witch is up for pre-order! Here's a little scene to get you excited! Order it HERE

“Ms. Aredale, I’m Hamlet Cross, high priest of the Atramento Coven. Around the table are Allister Michaels, Damian Nichols, Sutton Thyme, and Jaime Moore.”
As he introduces them a part of me slips into a deeper sense of dread. These men, as beautiful as they are, are trouble. Something about this isn’t right and as the lust clears from my head I realize I’ve been led here under a guise.
“She’s not getting the job,” Sutton says. He’s pacing by the door so obviously angry with me. His muscles bunch as he tenses looking me over. The shifter isn’t happy he got thrown down the hall.
“What is wrong with him?” I whisper to Jamie, the red-head geeky one, who’s placed a pink cupcake on a pretty plate to match my mug. I pick it up immediately and take a bite. Heaven.
“He’s angry you got the best of him. Not everyday that a witch lands a shifter on his ass,” he says.
I try my hardest to not look at the shifter who is giving me a death glare. I bested a shifter and he was in warrior half-form. The most scary and powerful of all. His wolf might be powerful, but they’re ruled by instinct. His warrior form is all man with beast power. And me, a simple hedge witch kept her cool and blasted him back.
Suddenly, the severity of this situation overcomes me and I swallow down the bite of the cupcake I shoved into my mouth. It gets lodged and a coughing fit takes over me. I burn my tongue with the hot coffee, trying to get the cupcake unstuck, but then large hands are smacking me on the back and I spit the offensive sweet onto the table.
Worst interview ever.

How I became and author

Hey Guys,

I was thinking the other day about how I hadn’t shared my author origins story in a while. I know some of you are new to this crazy space, and I thought it would be cool to throw in an interesting story.

I started reading reverse harem when my youngest, E, was born. See, E didn’t want to sleep on her own until she was ten months, which meant I had a lot of late night nursing sessions. The kid was a boobie obsessed piggy.

During those late nights, I’d read on my Paperwhite to reduce the amount of light in the room. At first, I was reading M/F PNR and then I found Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington. MY WORLD exploded. Reverse harem was everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. ALL THE PEENS!!

I became as obsessed as the boobie baby. I’d stay up late, read through naps, even take her in the stroller to the park, and read under the trees. I couldn’t get enough.

Then I dreamed of stories that differed from the ones I was reading. Like I loved all the worlds I was getting imersed in, but there was something missing. I needed action and adventure. Intrigue! Powerful female main characters that kicked ass.

And Azra was born. She floated in my head for months, telling me about her story and how she wanted her guys to be. Grey and how he’d talk like her, but be thrown in with the world of the Fae. Cass and how he always wanted to be a white knight but didn’t know how. Shax and his devious mind and sexy panther ways. And finally Gunnar. He was a surprise, even to me. But the quiet assassin won my heart in the end.

I hope if you’ve read Death Card, you’ve enjoyed my characters as much as I did. When the series ended, I was sad. I felt like there was so much more to tell. Even though Azra and her guys got their happily ever after, I needed to know what would happen next. The epilogue in Death Reigns helped with that, giving me all the babies and pregnancies that I needed from them so much. After all, it all started with a boobie obsessed piggy.

New Cover Reveals!

Hey Guys!!

I have some exciting news!! The Changing Fate series is getting new covers!

While I really loved the original covers, I figured it was time to give my first series a makeover. Books one and two are complete, but book three is still being created. I’ve uploaded the files to Amazon, so if you already have copies, it should be coming through for you soon!

Another important note, Claiming Death is now titled Death Tower and Death Ruins will be titled Death Reigns. It goes with keeping everything fresh and new.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Paperback sale I’ll be holding at the end of the month. I have some paperbacks from past signings with the original covers. If you want to get yours, I’m deeply discounting them.

If you guys have any questions, comment below. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Until next time,

<3 AC

Marked Witch is the first book in my new series Ritual Ink. I just got the cover and OMG you guys it’s stunning. But I can’t show it to you yet. There’s a process and I hope you’ll stick with me to see this beautiful journey I’m on.

However, I want to give you a little teaser and a sneak peak at the colors. Marked Witch is up for pre-order and will release in January 2023. I’m so freaking excited about this new series and what I have planned for the coming year.

Okay…enough of all this jumping around like a toddler on coffee.

Until next time,
