Why I Write Fantasy

Why do I write fantasy? When I watched Lord of the Rings, it was the first time I sought out fantasy books. There’s just something about the medieval settings, usually deep in nature, sword battles, magical creatures, and horses that appealed to me as if they were ingrained in my DNA.

Regarding Pirated Copies

Recently I got scammed with a bootleg copy of a DVD. I’m always careful when ordering from Amazon, and I think I mistakenly thought the product was sold by and shipped by them. It took a few days to finally realize that it was not a genuine copy. A Fantasy Author's Search History: When was the hourglass invented?
I’m finding conflicting dates for this question, but my main focus was if it existed in medieval times, which it did. The time for invention I see most often is the 14th century, but there are other conflicting times. I’m not a historian.

I really don’t remember a lot of the writing that I was coming up with years ago. You will see “Lay of Toranon.” That was inspired by Tolkien’s lays. And I really thought I could write a song. A Fantasy Author’s Search History: What were books make out of in medieval times?
The paper was actually parchment or vellum made from animal skins. Then the pages are sewn together and attached to a wooden cover that is bound with leather. And the cover can be ornately decorated. Of course in fictional writing, you could take some creative liberty with the design of books.
