HEXBOUND First Chapter is up!!

Need your Lily and Scout fix? Now's your chance . . .
That's what I was thinking when I happened to glance across the street . . . and saw him. Sebastian Born. He stood on the sidewalk in jeans and a dark polo shirt, his hands tucked into his pockets. His blue eyes gleamed, but not like Jason's eyes gleamed. Jason's eyes were spring-bright. Sebastian's were darker. Deeper. Colder. And those eyes were focused on me.

Also just posted, music from the making of HARD BITTEN!
Also, also, SOME GIRLS BITE is headed to Norway for publication!

It's HEXBOUND BLOG TOUR time!

Since my editor is now reading HARD BITTEN, it's time to focus on other fun and exciting things, including the upcoming release of HEXBOUND!!
HEXBOUND is my favorite novel to date (CV or DE), and I'm really looking forward to its January 4, 2010 release. The upcoming date (less than 2 months!) means it's time for an ARC Contest and a Blog Tour!
ARC CONTEST: Check back here on Monday, November 15, when we'll begin the HEXBOUND ARC contest. This time I'm giving away two ARC copies, as well as a ton of other books provided by your friends and mine at Penguin.
BLOG TOUR: It's also time to sign up for spots on my HEXBOUND BLOG TOUR during the months of December and January. If you've got a blog and you'd like to schedule me for an interview in December or January as part of the HEXBOUND BLOG TOUR, just follow the instructions below:
1. Send an e-mail to calendar [at] chloeneill [dot] com. 2. In that e-mail, suggest a SPECIFIC date on which you'd like to host the HEXBOUND Blog Tour. You must request a specific date in order to be included on the calendar.3. Let me know if you want to host a swag giveaway contest.
Now, some ground rules:
1. Interviews Only - Because of my writing schedule (and day job), I'll only be able to do interviews this time around, not guest blogs. But you're welcome to ask any (non-spoiler) questions, or you can interview a character from the Dark Elite novels!
2. Prizes - The giveaway this time around will be a swag pack of St. Sophia's goodies (and a Twice Bitten bookmark!) You can select the winner, and simply provide their name and mailing address to me.
3. Delivery - If you're including a contest, it takes 2-4 weeks to send out prizes once I receive the winners' names. You are, of course, more than welcome to send a reminder e-mail.
4. Scheduling - Once I receive your request for a specific date, I'll send you a note confirming and I'll place the date on my calendar. Feel free to including one of the images below on your blog.

HARD BITTEN

The first draft of the manuscript is complete. In a few days, the editing will begin in earnest. But for now, I sleep.

In the meantime...

I am five days away from my (revised) deadline on HARD BITTEN.*

While I work feverishly to finish up the final scenes, here's a little food for thought. It's the organizational matrix purportedly penned by J.K. Rowling to plot out one of the Harry Potter books. Interesting method, no?

* - Note that finishing the manuscript only means the first draft is finished. We still have multilpe rounds of editing, proofing, printing and shipping to go, so by no means have I finished the book "early" so as to allow publication before May 2011. In fact, we're skirting the deadline. Send love and happy thoughts to my editor and the managing editor!! Thank them for pushing the publication up to May!

I just wrote this seconds ago--it's Merit and Jeff talking--and cracked up after I read it. That Jeff. Such a hoot.

"Not much we can do about that now. But there is something you can do for me." I held up a hand before he could remind me about Fallon again. "And it's nothing prurient. But it will require your technological prowess."
"Well, that is my second favorite prowess."

The Synopsis of HARD BITTEN!

And without further ado, here's the back cover copy for HARD BITTEN. Feel free to use the comments to theorize about all your CV favorites. :)
Times are hard for newly minted vampire Merit. Ever since shapeshifters announced their presence to the world, humans have been rallying against supernaturals--and they're camping outside of Cadogan House with protest signs that could turn to pitchforks at any moment. Inside its doors, things between Merit and her Master, green-eyed heartbreaker Ethan Sullivan are ... tense. But then the mayor of Chicago calls Merit and Ethan to a clandestine meeting and tells them about a violent vamp attack that has left three women missing. His message is simple: get your House in order. Or else.

Merit needs to get to the bottom of this crime, but it doesn't help that she can't tell who's on her side. So she secretly calls in a favor from someone who's tall, dark, and part of underground vamp group that may have some deep intel on the attack. Merit soon finds herself in theheady, dark heart of Chicago's supernatural society--a world full of vampires who seem to ready to fulfill the protesting human's worst fears, and a place where she'll learn that you can't be a vampire without getting a little blood on your hands...

Release date is May 3, 2011.
