My 2021 message to you.
We have made it 2021, and I hope this year finds you healthy, safe, and content. I don't normally make New Year's resolutions. Instead I carefully choose words that embody larger ideas, for which I hope manifest for myself and others. One such word I have chosen for 2021 is: RESILIENCE.
I think this year we will all need resilience in order to face our challenges, welcome new experiences, and to remain hopeful.
RESILIENCE.

The Fadrix
Have you ever encountered an object or met a person you’re inexplicably drawn to? And in that moment, a powerful and frightening connection happens that can’t be ignored? Phoebe Douse has such an experience when she’s introduced to the Fadrix, an ancient Egyptian artifact with immeasurable power and an intriguing past ... And now, it has found its way to her.

Your childhood books
⭐️Who is one of your favorite childhood authors?⭐️ For me, I would have to say Beverly Cleary 😍. She created stories with lovable and relatable characters, and I found ease, relaxing into a great read of hers, and excitement from anticipating what would happen next for Ramona, Ralph, Henry, and the others. A reason why I decided to write a YA series is to encourage more reading with the hope to bring similar experiences to young readers’ lives.

Bookstores
Bookstores and I are like family. My first job was at the SMU bookstore, even before it was at this spiffy location. It used to be in a space where the ceiling was low, the lighting could’ve been better, and there were no windows. However, I was still where I wanted to be. It was fun being surrounded by books, meeting students, and working with very entertaining colleagues. So when the bookstore moved here while I was in college, I naturally followed and worked here too.
