Divine Union: The Ultimate Dance of Masculine and Feminine Energies
In the journey of life, few experiences possess the transformative power of a romantic union that is truly aligned—where two souls merge to create something both beautiful and profound. This sacred connection is often referred to in spiritual traditions as Divine Union, regarded as the highest form of yoga. In this elevated state, love transcends the personal, becoming a powerful pathway to spiritual awakening and growth. At the core of a Divine Union is the harmonious dance of masculine and feminine energies, each complementing and elevating the other. These energies, fundamental forces present in everyone, are not restricted by gender […]

The Wisdom of Water
The ocean calls each morning as the sun prepares to crest over the horizon to start a new day. Adi and I drive to the shore each morning as the amber hues dot the sky and we set the tone for the day. All possibilities exist in this space and our state of mind determines which path we will take. Will we see possibility, or will we see a roadblock? Both are available and it is only our perception that decides how we will move forward. I know the importance of intention and I understand it’s the foundation of our […]

The Big House
My mother-in-law passed away a year ago. To say it devasted the family would be an understatement. Morticia (my nickname for her inspired by the Addams Family) was a witchy mermaid who positively affected everyone she came in contact with, and her bigger than life personality was one that couldn’t be easily replaced. The love of her life and Adi’s dad, Gomez (they truly were like the Addams Family), will attest to the huge void that entered his life when Morticia passed on to the great beyond and never have I personally witnessed the adversity a family had gone through […]

Mise En Scène
I remember it like it was yesterday—May 6, 1989—I was about to prepare to perform stand-up comedy for the very first time. It has been a dream of mine since I was a young boy to stand onstage and make people laugh, and on this night, that dream would commence. Little did I know it would take me on a journey that I could have never imagined. I would co-found an improvisational comedy show called Four Day Weekend that would become an unlikely hit, selling out shows all over the country, performing for two U.S. presidents, delivering a “Yes, And” keynote […]

Flower Power
Listen on Spotify! Everyone has those chapters in their life that are challenging. Things seem to be rolling along and the next thing we know a speed bump appears and forces us to slow down and reevaluate our life. 2023 was that year for Adi and me. Three weeks into the start of the year, my mother passed away at the age of 85. She lived a good life and by her own admission was ready to pass on to the other side. She told me the world was just moving too fast for her and she was ready to […]

A Drop of Honeysuckle
Adi and I went for our morning walk today through the park. This has become somewhat of a ritual for us as we transition to a new phase of our lives. Our daughter graduates from high school in less than 30 days and I am left eyeing the end of one book of my life while anticipating the turning of the page beginning what I can only conclude would be the final book of my life. I mentioned to Adi recently that I sense that I will have essentially three books of my life: The first began at birth and […]

The Power of Yes
Many years ago, I was in a slump. I reached a point in my life where my creativity had stalled and although my career was rolling along nicely, I hadn’t really taken my potential to the next level. I knew I had to change the way I was thinking and my approach to life. Since my background was in improvisation which is based on the idea of saying “yes” to life, I decided I would embark on a year-long journey of saying “yes” to as many things as I could and see what transpired. I began this journey with a […]

Clark Gardens
Listen on Spotify Spring is in the air in Texas and with this turning of the season Clark Gardens in Mineral Wells, Texas has opened for business once again. For those that have never heard of Clark Gardens, I was not unlike you until roughly five years ago. A friend casually asked Adi and me, “Have you guys ever been to Clark Gardens?’ “I’ve never heard of it,” I responded. “Oh, you’ve got to go,” my friend implored us. “Whenever I feel like escaping the hustle and bustle of the world, I drive out to Mineral Wells and escape into […]

Evening in Roma
Listen on Spotify There is simply nothing as magical as an evening train ride through Europe. This was a first for Adi, she had never taken a train in Europe and as our train departed the Venice train station we were filled with excitement as we sped through the night to Rome. This trip is one that many may only do once in a lifetime so, suffice to say, it wasn’t cheap. The first twenty minutes of the trip took place in a tunnel under the water that surrounded Venice. I can’t help but marvel at the pure ingenuity of […]

Texas Hill Country
Listen on Spotify! “Is there any way you guys could leave for Valentine’s Day?” I applauded the directness from our 21-year-old son. He wanted to have our home to himself for his Valentine’s date and he thought that Adi and I might cramp his style. “I guess we could,” I responded, slightly shocked that we were being asked to vacate our own home for 24 hours. When exactly did I lose control of our home, I thought to myself? “Yeah! We can go somewhere,” Adi responded. Adi wasn’t offended in the least and in fact, I wonder if she put […]
