Nearing release date give-away

We are just three short days away from My Unfair Godmother's release date. You're all planning on hanging out at your local bookstore on Monday night waiting until midnight to get the first copies, right? Okay, maybe if you tried that the book store employees would have to kick you out, but still . . .

Today's give-away is a paperback copy of All's Fair in Love, War, and High School.

Here's the deal. My good buddy, Random.org, and I will choose a winner at the end of each day. (The end of each day depends on when I go to bed, so comment early.) Commenting will get you one chance. If you're also a follower you get two chances (be sure to tell me you're a follower in your comment), and if you put something about this giveaway on your blog or facebook status you get four chances. (Put the link to your post in your comment.)

***And here's a new way to earn extra chances (because the math portion of calculating everybody's chances wasn't already complicated enough). My daughter set me up with a twitter account. Apparently now I will be twittering. So if you follow me on twitter it's an extra chance (@janetterallison), and if tweet about the give away it's an extra chance.

You don't need to update your blog or facebook every day. Just put the same link in. You do, however need to comment and say you're a follower every day because that's how I'll be choosing the winners. You can be brief with your comments though. (Me again. Still a follower.)

Oh, and you can comment on Facebook, Goodreads, or my website blog. I will be counting all of those comments.

May the Random.org be with you!

Fairy Godmother Countdown--home stretch

There are only a few days left until My Unfair Godmother hits store shelves. You can just feel all that anticipation as people across the world check the days off their calendars. Um, no? Well, they should. It's an awesome book. Even if my niece did read it and find a mistake. (Janette sobs quietly in a corner because I KNOW I FIXED THAT ON THE COPY EDITS!!!)

Anyway . . (takes a couple of deep breaths) I'll talk about that another day.

Today's give-away is a copy of My Double Life. And there are no hay/straw mistakes in the book. But if you mention in your comment that you realize I know the difference between hay and straw you get an extra chance, because I want to see if anyone is still reading all of this stuff.

Playing the Field and other boy books

Today's give-away is a paperback copy of Playing the Field. (Not the greatest cover, I'm sad to say, but I promise it's as good as my other books.) Also a signed hardback of The Softwire, Virus on Orbis 1 by PJ Haarsma—who is not only one of the coolest authors I know, but he also made a video game of his book and put it on his website. Uber cool, huh? And also a copy of Airman by Eoin Colfer (Not signed, unfortunately. I would love to meet Eoin Colfer and would no doubt act all giddy and fan-girl.)

Four winners

Owlette--Pocket Muse and All I Need to Know in Life I Learned from Romance Novels, A Guide for Turning Fiction Into Reality
Courtney--Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Free Throws
DebZ--Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Free Throws
Midnight Bloom--Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Free Throws

I'm going to admit right off that I only used Random.org for three of the winners. It occurred to me that most of you probably aren't writers and so you wouldn't be so thrilled with the Pocket Muse, so I'm giving that one to the commenter who said she specifically wanted it, and then I chose three other winners for the other books and gave away two copies of Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Free Throws.

Send me your addresses at jrallisonfans at yahoo dot com

Now on to the next day's blog.

Meanwhile, back at the book give-away . . .

Janette's school visit handler here (a.k.a. Techno Bob)

It's been wonderful to visit with so many schools in the Washington DC area. It has also been very busy with lots of driving in traffic. And as many of you have noticed, with limited access to the internet sometimes. So the give-away is about 3 days behind. But never fear, today is THE DAY to make up those three days.

So, to mark the countdown to My Unfair Godmother's release day (7:00 Tuesday, April 12th at Changing Hands Bookstore, Tempe, AZ) three (3) winners will be chosen today for the books for April 4, 5, and 6. So instead of 1 random number, Random.org will choose 3. Janette will take into account previous posts since the last give-away.

#1 April 4 writing inspiration books: The Pocket Muse, Ideas and Inspirations for Writing, and All I Need to Know in Life I Learned from Romance Novels, A Guide for Turning Fiction Into Reality
#2 April 5 a paperback copy Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Free Throws
#3 April 6 an ARC of My Unfair Godmother

Here's the deal. My good buddy, Random.org, and I will choose a winner at the end of each day. (The end of each day depends on when I go to bed, so comment early.) Commenting will get you one chance. If you're also a follower you get two chances (be sure to tell me you're a follower in your comment), and if you put something about this giveaway on your blog or facebook status you get four chances. We interupt this give-away for an announcement

I've got to tell you guys about a couple of events.

My Unfair Godmother's book launch is at 7:00 Tuesday, April 12th at Changing Hands Bookstore. It will be lots of fun. We're having a hair stylist come in to put tinsel hair extensions. You know you want one!

Chrysanthemum "Chrissy" Everstar is Tansy's fairy godmother. Unfortunately, Chrissy is only a "fair" godmother, so Tansy's wish doesn't exactly go according to plan—Chrissy has accidentally transported Tansy back to the Middle Ages to deal with Rumpelstiltskin himself! Now, Tansy will need the help of her blended family, her wits, and especially the cute police chief's son if she wants to stop her gold-spinning story from reeling wildly out of control.

And yes, there will be book give-aways there too.

Changing Hands Bookstore
6428 S McClintock Dr.
Tempe, AZ

Also, if you have a teen or tween who likes to write (or who just wants to come and hear me talk about my book) I'll be doing a library event at 6:00 on April 27

Teens can write their own 500 word (or less) fractured fairy tale based on Cinderella for the chance to win a book and some fairy tale brownies.

You can find out more information and entry form at http://chandlerlibrary.org/pdf/Rallis...

Hope to see you all there!

And since I'm not giving away a book today, I'll give two away tomorrow.
