Confessions & Conversations
At their very best, interviews are just great conversations with smart people. Over the last month I’ve had some really remarkable chats about CONFESSIONS ON THE 7:45. Author Pal Appreciation!
So here is a behind-the-scenes publishing thing. When a book is still an uncorrected proof (or galley or ARC as they are sometimes called), its editor or author sends it out to key people to read. I get a lot of these. And I take it very seriously — I always seek to help my author pals, or authors just coming up. I’ve been so blessed; it’s the least I can do. I can’t read everything. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day to parent, write, read, live, etc. So I know how much it takes to read, and to craft appropriate words of support. It’s not as easy as you think.
That’s why I am beyond grateful to the writers who have taken the time out of their massively busy lives to offer support for CONFESSIONS ON THE 7:45. My most heartfelt thanks to: Meg Gardiner, Linwood Barclay, Megan Miranda, Samantha Downing, Karen Hamilton and Sarah Pekkanen.

Library Love! Confessions on the 7:45
I have a special place in my heart for libraries. My mom was a librarian at the Chester Library in Chester, New Jersey — and when she worked the evening shift, I always went with her to do my homework among the stacks! As a lifelong reader, and a budding writer, the library was a special place, where it was always okay to be who I was, and to quietly escape to another reality just by opening a book.
