Last Of The Far Gods

Check this out! Like, I know this guy!!!!! In fact, I have him lined up as an insider advisor for my next novel, which will a present-day thriller. (First I gotta finish the now-very-hefty Frozen Sky 3: Blindsided.)

Corbin Maxwell’s novel Last Of The Far Gods was released this week!

On the dusty surface of a dying Earth, the few remaining humans cling to whatever gods, old or new, that they can find, placing their faith in remnants of a forgotten past or the mysterious promises of a prophet w...

Updates & Errata

We’re heading into the final day-and-a-half of the big ebook sale! See info again here. My German is not what it should be since my wife is German! In the new Visionarium anthology, the title of my short story “Pressure” is “Druck,” not Die Austrocknun.” My bad.

Fun News From Germany

My short story “Die Austrocknun,” probably better known as “Pressure,” has been translated into German in an Austrian anthology series called Visionarium.

If you’re in the Fatherland, you can find it in print and on Kindle. Or if you’re bilingual, it’s also in the U.S.

Late As Usual But Having Fun!

I thought I’d use the same title for this post as I did for my last write-up about Nowa Fantastyka. First, because I’m always late. Second, because it is indeed great fun to work with this team. The editor, Marcin Zwierzchowski, has become one of my overseas favorites. Who else would put Jeff Carlson alongside Matt Damon?

Admittedly, Matt gets a little more space on the cover than Jeff. That’s cool.

The October 2015 issue included their translation, into Polish, of my story Long Eyes.

Here I am “writing” in “Bear Summit”…

This is a short clip from a long weekend of deep powder on the mountain that inspired Plague Year. If I understand my WordPress correctly, click on this link and the .mov file will open. It’s a helmet cam GoPro worn by my brother.

Deep Thoughts With Jefe El Jefe

Yesterday I came across this saying about marriage that I thought was pretty profound:

We choose our partners because they represent the unfinished business from our childhood.

Stop and think about that one for a minute! :)

Sly & Inventive New Sci Fi Novel

The inestimable Charles Jane Anders released her new title this week, a techno-magical-apocalyptic-love-and-doom novel (try saying that five times in a row!). It’s called All The Birds In The Sky. Not surprisingly, Sky is stacking up positive reviews for being thoughtful yet fast-paced and unique. Check it out!!!

Deep into FS3 and eating cinnamon toast!

Team Carlson had a killer set of holidays. Hope you did, too. Now that the madness is settling down, I’m back at work, which means almost-healthy-breakfasts of WAAAAAAAAAY too much coffee, yogurt, bananas… and cinnamon toast…

Sometimes it’s tough to focus on the real world when your brain is inside Europa.
