Seems Like a Good Idea
A reader writes:
Hope you had a very nice Christmas! We have a lot of wonderful cards from friends and family, but I have to say the standout is a gorgeous one from reader Pavel Chichikov. I think I may stick it up by my computer.
Here's something to pass along to your readers:
On Christmas Day, my parish priest challenged the parish for the coming year: Keep Christmas in your hearts all year long by putting a Christmas card with the Nativity scene out where you can see it every day. Think about what Christmas is about when you see it. Then try to bring the joy, love, peace and hope of Christmas into your everyday life, every day in 2011.
It's a wonderful idea, and I have my card right out on the hutch in my foyer.
Cheers to 2011

More Muslims Like This
Please!
An Egyptian Orthodox leader said he had received many messages of support from Muslims after a Jan. 1 church bombing that killed about two dozen people.Good. May the blood of the martyrs bring about a wide-scale revulsion against this stuff in the Muslim world. Islam cannot be reformed from outside, it can only be reformed from within. Ultimately, only God can do this.
Mideast Catholic leaders also sent messages of support to their fellow Christians. The head of Catholic Relief Services in Egypt said he was afraid the bombing indicated a renewal of sectarian violence.
"We have to pray. We have to pray for peace," Coptic Orthodox Bishop Youhannes Zakaria of Luxor, Egypt, said in a telephone interview.
He said he has received many visits from Muslims — ordinary individuals and officials, including the governor — expressing their sympathy and solidarity.
"They [Muslims] don't accept this violence. They are very upset about this," he said.

Here's a great story on the Nashville Dominican Sisters
They won over even NPR with their awesome Dominican charm.
Down below there's a link to the story about the folks who are predicting Doomsday for May 21. Ain't gonna happen. God is obviously planning big things for these young and apostolic Catholic women. You think he's gonna go to all that trouble prepping them and then end the world before they get their crack at the New Evangelization? No. Way.

Vatican replies...
...to absurd claim that Muslim murder of Christians is somehow a Muslim internal affair. He also scotches the lie that Rome has somehow been silent about Iraq. Jeepers, Rome was practically alone in condemning that stupid war. Meanwhile, what does the Imam have to say about the eradication of Christians in Iraq?

Frank Weathers reminds us...
...that if you like blog posts, it turns out there are even larger samples of written English called "books" that you can read.
I must attempt to read one of these "books" he speaks of.
