Remember Me?

In 2018, my first book was published. The book is called, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him.” The theme of the book is about how I came to forgive both of my parents for the abuse and neglect I felt all through my childhood. I hid my upbringing from my friends in school. I masked it well because recently I read a short piece one of my childhood friends wrote about me and why he was buying the book. He wrote, “what I remember about John was his passion for life and his genuine concern for others.”

If you are holding onto pain from your past, I encourage you to do the work on yourself to heal. I did, and I promise it isn’t easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

Living Before Dying…

A hospice worker wrote an article a while back about her experiences with people who were facing death. One of the reflections she recorded was, patients often said they “wished they had lived their own dream.” God created us for a bigger purpose than making money. Remember to live His purpose, not ours. This is where you will find fulfillment…

Sometimes you hear people say, “if I only knew then what I know now.” What they mean is, they would have avoided a lot of mistakes. But that’s how we learn. Life will never be perfect, so look at mistakes you have made as learning lessons. Be a lifelong learner…

The media and the politicians want to keep us divided because it feeds their message of fear. Don’t fall for it. We are more alike than we are different…

Success…

Success comes from our Creator putting us in a position to succeed. We have to do the work and see it through to completion, but God removes our roadblocks.
