Daily Drawing: Space 1

It’s January 2017! Did you ever think we’d make it this far into the future?
After taking a year off, I decided to bring back my daily drawing. Every weekday, Monday though Friday, I’ll post a new black and white drawing. And because it’s the future world of 2017, I’ll be drawing animals in outer space! So expect asteroids, space ships, and lots of little stars in the background. Should be fun.

A Completely Fictional Book Cover

I love designing book covers. I had idea the other day that I thought would make a striking cover for a mid-grade novel. But it was for a book that doesn’t exist. But I didn’t want to let that stop me. So here is my book cover for the completely fictional “Russell T. Jones on the Edge of Forever”
You can see my process of creating the cover over at Behance.

Go Cubs Go! Pages
As promised, here are a few page spreads from my new picture book, “Go Cubs Go!” In it, Grandpa Bruno shows his grandkids his Cubs baseball scrapbook and mementoes. The book follows both the history of the Cubs and Bruno’s life.

If you like what you see, you can pre-order the book on Amazon (or at your local bookstore.)

Go Cubs Go!

I just completed work on the picture book “Go Cubs Go!” which is the unauthorized history of the Chicago Cubs as seen through the eyes of Grandpa Bruno Bear. It’s written by Marv Levy with historical contribution by George Castle and published by Ascend Books.
This was the fastest turn-around I ever had on a picture book, completing all the illustrations in just 2 and 1/2 weeks! (I drank lots of caffeine to make that happen.) The publisher hopes to have the book out in time for Christmas
I’ll post more details and some images from the book later this week. Until then, here’s a link to the book on Amazon:

Painted Elephant

Surprisingly, I’ve managed to post something new everyday this week. I don’t want to kill the momentum.
So here’s an elephant. This is a digitally painted version of one of the daily drawings I did last year. And you can buy this one as a high quality art print over at Curioos. (If you want a slightly expensive art print of this elephant on your wall, that is.)

New Illustration– WoolBeard and the Pirates

Here’s a pirate ship manned by barnyard animals to cheer up your Thursday morning. Poor dog, though. He’s not that happy.
I’ve added some new illustrations to my color portfolio. I’d love it if you checked it out.

Graphic Novel sample page

A while back, I posted an uncolored work in process page of a graphic novel I’m developing in my spare time. Here, finally, is the finished colored page. What do you think?

Vote 2016

So I voted this afternoon. I felt a lot like this guy does. Did I make the right choice? Did he? Did you? I guess we’ll find out what America decided tonight. And history will tell us if we chose well.
