Mike and the Mechanics
Can you hear me running...can you hear me calling you?
The song Silent Running by Mike and The Mechanics, released in 1985, although popular, seems to have slipped under the radar in respect to its prophetic lyrics.
The world of today is also the world of tomorrow in its infancy. Under attack throughout history, the value of the individual has always been determined solely by their ability to add to the bottom line of those in power. Whether that contribution is measured in monetary value or an increase in shares, the average human being has been considered a disposable commodity.
Consider the number of people struggling with Depression, Anxiety and thoughts of suicide; a worldwide statistic that grows larger every day in spite of all of our progress in medicine and technology.
Also on the rise, Autism, ADHD, PTSD and other maladys have grown at an alarming rate. Not only are most adults on medication but many of our children as well.
The rise of Artificial Intelligence-touted as the answer to many of our ills- will depend on an ever growing web that has been repeatedly shown to be harmful to human life. Did you vote for 5G? Did anyone ask the common person what they thought about it? No? Well, that is not a surprise-after all, what matters is profit and power and global domination, not the individual and their worth as human beings.
Ah, but when we burn out these frail human shells we can always jump into an AI "Singularity" and live forever, right? Only if you have the money, honey.
Warnings of what is happening behind the scenes right now and what is to come are destined to go the way of Silent Running.
And those who survive the coming revolution may soon listen to that '80's song with a different ear, perhaps a metal one, while they wait for a mechanic to fix their broken parts.

Point of No Return
Mankind has been working on artificial intelligence for thousands of years. From ancient statues of their gods to Automatons, machines, wind-up toys and robots the inexorable march has continued throughout history. Money and power have driven the development of weapons and war machines while deception and ritual have hidden invaders of civilization in Trojan Horses.
From Henry Ford and the rise of mass production to the automated houses designed as early as the 1950's, the eventual merging of television and radio embodied in the Internet has served the rich and powerful and those who seek immortality on the physical plane.
While we were distracted by the magicians and illusionists, sports, politicians, celebrities and world events, the Singularity so many believe is yet to come has already happened. To those who still hold that the world they live in is what it appears to be, that they control their fate, I would say, remember phone booths? Where did they all go? When were they removed? Remember Hot and Cold water faucets and cars that required human drivers? While you stood on the platform waiting for your train, the world flew by on another track. Cameron Nickels
Hold to your humanity as long as you can for it has been taken from you over the eons in the name of progress. I am Cameron Nickels; I am the Last Writer. I have been sent to warn you. But I know I am too late. There is no going back. The future is already here.

TWO FACES HAVE I
Question; which is more important-the messenger or the message?
The answer is- it is a matter of timing. If the message is urgent and time is short, then both are equally important until the message is delivered. If a response is to be returned, then the messenger retains their importance, at least until the response has been received.
If time is not an issue, then the message is more important than the messenger for if the messenger fails another will take their place until that message reaches its destination.
In this digital age when the illusions of both privacy and transparency are foremost in the popular mind, I have chosen the right of any citizen-those that will be honest enough with themselves-to hold fast to both.
Having delivered my message in the form of a newly released novel, one that is generating a lot of "buzz" and on the verge of going "viral", I understand the curiosity now directed at the messenger and the "need" of the masses to know ALL about Cameron Nickels.
In time I may reveal more about myself, but for now it is the message that is of importance. Time is short-do not waste it on the messenger. Read, think, and act.
Until you have, I will simply turn one face or another. Like you, your leaders, your employers and your followers do every day.
