Extended: As a freelancer, I have written for online and print publications with a focus on the shared and distinct American experience of Black immigrants and Black Americans.

We take an idea and then bring it to life with some basic building blocks of verbs, adjectives and nouns. Probably as close as we’ll ever get to having super powers. I’m okay with that. (less)

“But I loved the library simply because it was a library. I love libraries. I like reading, but I love libraries. Being surrounded by books makes me feel safe, the way some people need trees or mountains around them to feel secure. Not me – nature’s not what I cling to. I cling to books.”
Emily Wing Smith, Back When You Were Easier to Love

“The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs. ”
