Persephone flinched, finding herself asking a similar question to the one he had earlier. “Do you really believe that?”
Hades offered a small laugh, and then pressed a hot kiss to her mouth, tearing away savagely to reach for her hips and lift her onto the table, knocking the vase of flowers to the floor. He didn’t react as it shattered, he just took her lips again.
His kiss was bruising, and she wondered for a moment if this was the kind of discipline he had in mind. His hands slipped around her back, and he ground his hips against hers. A gutteral sound escaped her mouth. How could he—the God of all dead things—make her feel so alive?
Hades released her lips, smirking, and said, “Well, you would probably enjoy fucking me, but you definitely don’t like me.”
