hey! first, just wanted to say that i adore your novels! i work at a bookstore, and your hades x persephone series totally caught my attention–i ended up buying a bunch of our own stock lol. i also wanted to tell you that you/your work is really inspiratio

Oh thank you so much!

There isn't a lot of rep for us out there. I feel like it's hard to be a native woman in this world, especially one who presents white. Our identities are so diverse within our culture and I hope to make that more and more well known.

Can a touch of malice be read as a standalone book?

No. You should at least read A Touch of Darkness and A Touch of Ruin first.

hello! just finished a touch of darkness. what was the thought process behind your choice to make hephaestus not an olympuan?

Well, I wanted Hades to be an Olympian for the purpose of the story even though in antiquity, he does not live on Olympus and therefor isn’t an Olympian.

I chose Hephaestus because he really made the most sense. Hera did cast him off Olympus when he was born. I also felt that  he would be disinterested in being part of that group of gods.

To me, he almost feels rebellious. He’s such a brilliant god and most of Olympus is not deserving of him.

I hope that makes sense!

Hi there! Huge fan of king of blood and battle as well as Queen of myth and monsters! I seen where there will be a third book, will this one contain more of a back story on the High Coven? I found the history you created with Yessina being a witch in her p

Yes.

I think the fun part about writing Isolde as she is is that she has to sort of define what magic is to her in this current world. I’m really excited to see where she takes her power.

Sorry for spamming your asks 😅 but I just thought: Why did you decide to have the gods/deities be differentiated by horns? As I’m sure you’re very aware most other retellings utilize skin colors and hair colors that are not normal for humans or oth

Well, I actually had this plot line where the gods magic was tied to the horns initially. You can see a little of that in Malice where it’s sort of rumored that the two things are tied. I decided not to have that rumor actually be true though but never did away with the idea of the horns because I liked that I could also show their personality via the horns. It just sort of made their god forms distinct.

Long winded answer but that’s really the reason lol.

Hey anon here again, I just wanted to apologise - the ask I sent you came off really wrongly. When I read it again I realized that my word choice of “painfully” and “reeked” came off as very negative. (English is not my native language so many English wor

You are right. It came off really rude.

I will accept your apology.

Though, I did not start writing on Tumblr and I think it’s also not very cool to say that “everyone who starts writing on Tumblr cannot write or does not write well.” Which…it sounds like that is what you are saying.

Despite what you think, I worked very hard on my craft.

I appreciate anyone reading no matter what platform.

Once again, my writing does not have to speak to you. It speaks to plenty of people.
