November is for Novels

Hey guys! I meant to have this written much sooner, but that clearly didn’t happen.

Most of you probably know that I tend to participate in NaNoWriMo in November. Most of you have probably also heard the numerous controversies involving that organization. I won’t go into it, but while I’m willing to give them a second shot, that shot won’t be right now.

But why am I telling you this? Because my friends and I created an alternative to NaNoWriMo, and I want to encourage you to do the same! W...

A Little Treat

I meant to give this to you last year, but last year played a trick on me, so no treat. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little short. Happy Halloween!

What Changed & What Didn’t?

Sorry for the delay. I scheduled this to go out and it, well, didn’t. I apparently didn’t hit the button. My bad.

Alright, the last post—the one before the short story release—covered what the original stories were. This time, I’ll explain what I kept and what I changed about the fairy tales and why. Let’s dive in!

The Elves

I knew I wanted to have Cherree involved with the Elves and have for a while. I just didn’t know how I was going to accomplish that. I kept a lot of the same story ...

Short Story Unlocked!

Congratulations! You’ve unlocked the short story for The Princess and the Shoemaker!

I’ll let you in on a little secret though: I was supposed to have this out last week. I sent it to my beta reader to be sure that I hadn’t overlooked anything, and I had, so changes were made. I’ve also had a bad cold for the past two weeks, so there is that. Anyway, without further ado, here is the short story.

The Red Shoes and the Elves & the Shoemaker

It’s that time again! Nope, not a release. The Intertwined Tales is actually taking a week off. Those of you have been reading my books and blog posts for years know that I like to look back at the original fairy tales I took inspiration from because not all my wild story ideas are actually mine. This time, since the theme of the Intertwined Tales was to weave together a well-known and a lesser-known fairy tale, there are two: The Elves and the Shoemaker by the Brothers Grimm and The Red Shoes b...

Happy Dyslexia Awareness Month!

It is October, which means it is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Dyslexia is a learning disability that—according to the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity— affects about 20% of the population. It does not mean that you are stupid or lazy, but that your brain doesn’t process things the same way as others.

So, why am I talking about this? Well, I’ve been working on a project to try and assist with this. Books should be accessible to everyone, but the way that we format things is meant to make the...
